Ability to create a customise CV at the institution level
We'd like to be able to customise a CV template at the institution level so that we can choose the desired fields/assets/activities to export.
Additionally, we'd like to be able to change the labels of the sections on the CV. We found a labels table (CV Researcher Categories) but this doesn't seem to change the labels either in the Portal view or on the exported CV.6 votes -
Ability to harvest full text files
The overarching goal of an institutional repository is to provide free public access to the research and creative output of the institution. Although Esploro offers institutions the ability to grow their repository by harvesting publication metadata from external sources, the imported metadata is of limited value without full text. We would like to see Esploro's smart harvesting capabilities extended by offering customers the option to match imported records with full text available from sources like Unpaywall. Using Unpaywall's API, it should conceivably be possible to identify Creative Commons licensed full text files, import them into the repository, and match them…

Ability to bulk download files from asset record
We have some assets, especially datasets, that have a large number of files attached. It would be very handy if it was possible for a user to bulk download all (or selected) files rather than having to download them individually.

pop-up notification when communicating with researchers about an asset
When communicating with researchers about an asset, staff members must open the asset record, navigate to the communication tab, enter their message, and click "Send." However, their message is not actually sent to the researcher until the asset record is saved. This is not particularly intuitive, especially because the message appears as a new line in the communication history with the date sent and name of recipient. In order to make this step clearer, we recommend adding a hint or pop-up notification letting staff know the asset record must be saved in order for the message to be sent.

Button "manage assets" to show all assets
In the backend, there is a menu item with a sub-item "manage" in the menu bar for all types of data entries, whereby all data records that count towards this are then shown. Examples: Researchers -> manage researchers / activities -> manage activities etc.
What is missing is a field "manage assets" under "repository" where all assets are displayed. There is only a heading with this name, but it has different contents. The better heading here would be "normalisation and mapping". there is also no option for "manage ETDs".
Expected behaviour: direct menu access to an overview of all results…

Embargo options for Links
When researchers deposit large dataset files, it is often impractical to upload them to Esploro. In those cases, we store the datasets externally. Then, in the Esploro record, we upload a readme file and add a link to the externally-stored dataset files. When access to the linked files needs to be embargoed for any number of privacy and security reasons, we need to be able to register DOIs, provide open access to the readme files, AND embargo access to the link(s).
Currently, our workaround is to 1) remove the link from the record; 2) add a copyright statement to the…5 votes -
Enhance Smart Expansion via Bibtex by adding CDI auto population job
When importing records via Bibtex files, records are created but fail to sync with the journal details like Peer Review and Open Access status. When you open the record, both fields are marked as unknown but when you "refresh" the journal name, it seems to retrieve the data necessary to populate these fields. Is it possible to create a separate or subsequent CDI auto population job that matches and updates the journal information for any Smart Expansion via bibtext job so that these don't have to be fixed manually by going to each assert?
Even if there was an intermediary…

Ability to create/modify default settings for researcher profiles synchronized with Alma
I would like the ability to create a default profile for all new researchers loaded in by our SIS through Alma. Currently we are using XML and XSLT on top of our SIS import.
Our university is being selective to which faculty has a profile versus a public profile. This is causing an issue with the current set up, specifically for the faculty who has edit their information in our SIS. Currently, our only set up is that all researchers gets loaded in with a private profile, despite being already in Esploro with a public profile. It would be helpful…

Close current internal affiliations for purged users
When a user is purged their researcher record is updated from "Affiliated" to "Non-Affiliated - Previously Affiliated." However, their internal affiliations are not moved from "Current" to "Previous". In order to do that, customers must additionally run the Update Set of Researchers job. We recommend that this functionality be added to the purge job so that when a user is purged all open internal affiliations are closed with todays date.

Integration with Interfolio
One of our biggest hurdles to having comprehensive researcher profiles in Esploro is the aggravation researchers feel when they have to enter the same information into multiple different systems. We would like to eliminate that aggravation by integrating Esploro with Interfolio, so Interfolio could provide updates to researcher info.

OAI-PMH Support of Query Based Sets
When working with a OAI-PMH import profile you must select an existing record set provided from the OAI-PMH provider. Some providers, Datacite as an example, offer the ability to harvest a record set using a query[1] which is not included as a predefined record sets by the ListSets method. The OAI-PMH import profile should offer the ability to select a record set to harvest from a pre-defined list OR provide a record set name not in the list, a query in the case of Datacite.

Show the languages information in the Researcher Profile
Currently, we register the languages spoken by the researchers in the back end of Esploro. But this valuable information is not visible in the public Researcher Profile. We would like this info to be visible, since this way researchers can be contacted in different languages facilitating networking.

Add the ability to display PlumX metrics badges
We would like the ability to display PlumX badges for assets. Being able to display WOS and Altmetrics badges/metrics on assets is great, but WOS covers only a select group of journals. Adding the ability to also include PlumX badges on assets would expand our metrics coverage to give administrators the numbers they want, and give researchers a fuller, more accurate picture of the impact of their works. Metrics make the academic world go round. And the more information we can provide our users, the more buy in we encourage across campus.

Allow researchers to add their own Media Mentions and Grants via the Add Content menu.
Currently, Media Mentions and Grants can only be added via the admin side. Researchers should have this ability as well. Media Mentions (MM) and Grants could be added via the Add Content menu, with submissions approved by the library (similar to assets). The library would either need to enable these tabs on the researcher profiles, or they would automatically appear if MM or Grants are added.

Add option to display more than 9 researcher profiles on a page.
Currently, only nine researcher profiles are listed per page. It would be nice if the defaults could be set by the user so that one does not need to scroll through several pages to see all profiles. Perhaps break it into 12, 24, 48 or all.

Header Search Bar Configuration
The ability to enable/disenable the header search bar separately for the portal, profiles and projects. This would enable flexibility for administrators and the removal of a second and not needed search bar in the portal.
We have neither the profiles nor the projects enabled, so the removal of the header search bar would work well for us.4 votes -

Add ability to export assets from public researcher profile in Excel format
Right now if you look at a public researcher profile, the only export options you have are BibTex and RIS. Our users would like to use Excel as well to make reporting easier.

Issue with OA status on closed asset with open manuscript
There seems to be no way to add an open access manuscript to an asset for a work whose published version is closed without listing the entire asset as OA.
This is a major issue because a central use case for Esploro is to provide openly accessible manuscript versions of closed works. This problem means that we currently cannot add an open manuscript to a non-OA asset (i.e. journal article) without marking the entire asset as OA, which is incorrect and misleading.
There is a workaround, but fixing this would be extremely helpful in the long run as we scale…
