  1. Analytics should normalize publication titles to cluster article in the same journal more effectively

    Analytics currently considers capitalization variants as different for publication titles, and does not disregard initial articles. After a CDI migration in early December, we have both "American Journal of Psychiatry" and "The American journal of psychiatry". We have also gotten both "Gynecologic Oncology" and "Gynecologic oncology" and we have "PloS one" as well as "PLoS ONE" and "PLOS ONE".

  2. Add Date Presented to Analytics Researcher Subject Area > Date

    At the moment, the Esploro Researcher subject area > Asset Dates has nearly all dates except "Date Presented", which is only in the Esploro Research Assets subject area.

    This means that if we need to produce a report that includes the dates of our assets, we need to use the Researcher subject area instead of the Research Assets subject area. Alternatively, we need to manually add the date for any 'date presented' assets.

    It would be good if the dates were the same in each of the subject areas allowing for more flexibility in reporting.

  3. Lock asset to prevent simultaneous edits

    We've developed a backlog of deposits to process. When multiple staff are working on processing these deposits it's currently possible for editing conflicts to occur if the same asset is edited simultaneously.

    Could a lock please be added to the asset to prevent such conflicts?

  4. Researcher Profiles - Education Field

    Issue: Currently on the researcher profile there is no way to re-arrange the education/qualifications on the profile and there is no logic to how the qualification and education history is displayed i.e. if dates are entered it does not impact the order of display.

    Impact: A researcher who is adding Education and qualifications to their profile will want to dispaly their educational qualifications in a particular order, either from most recent to oldest, oldest to most recent, Highest qualification to least (Phd - Undergrad - certificate).   5. Add ability to change asset type from author matching review screen OR in editing provisional asset details screen

    When approving Smart Harvest matches in the client, sometimes it is easy to tell that an asset is not a journal article, etc. For example if the title has the word Comment or Abstract as part of the title.

    Right now you must approve the match and exit author matching to update asset type. This is not efficient, and I often forget to update these.

  6. Ability to Search on All Date Types in the Esploro Repository Admin Screens

    Our previous institutional repository software allowed for the searching of recently added records and the sorting of existing search results into most recently created. This was a search I used frequently as an administrator to quickly compile lists for requestors or for quality checking already added records. This function is required to create a set of newly added theses for checking.

  7. Draft mediated deposits display in profile

    Currently, drafts of mediated deposits do not display in researcher profiles. Complicated mediated deposits like datasets often go through several drafts before they are ultimately approved and published. In these cases, it would be very useful for the draft deposit to display in the profiles of all affiliated researchers for their review and feedback.

  8. Smart Harvesting - Sorting of Very Strong, Strong and Uncertain Match lists alphabetically by title.

    The alphabetical sorting of titles in the Very Strong, Strong and Uncertain match lists would make viewing and comparing records much quicker. It would increase administrator efficiency and reduce the possibility of errors.

  9. LoC and DC Headings

    We would like to have the availablity to select Library of Congress or Dublin Core Subject Headings instead of the ExLibris base set of subjects. We found that ExLibris's base set is poorly inadequate and it became a huge annoyance and time consuming to copy and paste the Library of Congress headings for our catalogers.

  10. Improve Grant discovery in Research Portal

    We want to work with our Grants Office to track funding acquired by researchers. However, the only way to access grant information is through individual researcher profiles. I believe we can publish Analytics reports for grants to a public webpage in the meantime, but it would be nice to link grants to specific researcher profiles since we are already tracking this information.

    Enhancement request: Add the ability to view Grants in the Esploro interface. This might include 1) a tab for Grants that shows a results page for grants, linked to Researcher profiles, with limiters for Org Unit, Grant Category,…

  11. Add credentials and licensure fields to researcher web profiles

    Our healthcare clinicians and have their medical license information and board certifications display on their academic profiles. We would like to be able to display this information in the researcher profiles as well. We would want the researcher or their delegates to maintain and enter this information, as it is not part of our central directory.

  12. Report on Duration field and other fields not yet visible in Analytics

    Currently, there is no way to report on the duration field, either through Analytics or via advanced search. It would be good to be able to report on this field, seeing as you are able to input data into this field.
    There are also other fields that are not yet visible in Analytics. Pages is one example. All fields that are able to have data inputed via the Esploro UI should be reportable via Analytics.

  13. Display All Asset Record IDs in Alma/Esploro Editing Screen

    Include all asset record IDs in Alma/Esploro for easier construction of OAI-PMH GetRecord requests. These currently only work on <identifier>oai:alma.61RMIT_INST:11247527950001341</identifier> and this identifier is not displayed in any asset record. This makes it impossible to complete a GetRecord request.

  14. Add the ability to view Publishing Information to Esploro research assets

    For Alma physical, electronic and digital records there is the option for administrators to view the Publishing information.
    This functionality does not exist for Esploro Research Assets.
    Can the ability to view publishing information for Research Assets be added to help enable troubleshooting.

  15. Allow repository staff to send canned responses

    Allow customers the ability to create and store canned messages that can be used when communicating with researchers. Esploro already offers the ability to create custom return reasons that can be selected when returning a deposit. But this feature would be even more useful if selecting of one of those reasons also sent customizable canned message that could be used to provide further instruction to the researcher on how to modify and resubmit their deposit. It would be useful to have a set of canned messages that could be used when approving a deposit to notify the researcher if any…

  16. Add a creation date to the summary asset record

    In order to manipulate and identify files for individual or batch processing, the display of the asset record creation date in the summary asset record would be very useful.
    I've attached an image of the existing summary asset record. At present, only an 'Asset last updated' field is included. It would be a logical next step to display when the record was created.

  17. Confirmation message when updating area of interest - Backend

    When editing a profile from the Alma backend it is incredibly easy to accidently delete the Areas of Interest section which, if done accidently, would require the researcher to enter the details again. It would be good to have a confirmation message attached to this action e.g. Are you sure you want to delete the Areas of Interest from the Profile?. I know this is operator error and you could cancel out of the record, but I’m sure it’s going to happen at some point.

  18. Alma Esploro Interface and Alma Users as Researchers

    In the Alma Esploro interface we would like to not have to edit Researcher roles when a User is also a Researcher. Right now anyone with an Alma login will need to be granted an Observer role in Esploro if they are made Researchers.

  19. Add Thesis dc Field to OAI Output

    Add the <dc:type>Thesis</type> to identify theses.

    Theses are frequently searched for by our Research Repository users and this would make them more discoverable.
