  1. Add Shibboleth Login to RCM Add-in

Add Shibboleth / Institutional sign-on / Federated Access to RCM Add-in for Word 2016.

At present Shibboleth / Institutional login is provided via the web interface, but not via the RCM Add-in. The only way to login is with the alternate password option set in RefWorks web user settings.

  2. APA capitalization

I would love to see the automation of capitalizing proper nouns in APA. I believe that the only way to currently achieve this is to edit the citation after export.

  4. A new reference type for standards

Could you create a new reference type for standards? There isn't a ready-made option for this. It seems that it isn't possible to rename existing reference types.

  5. Improve print/electronic differentiation in imported book references

The default setting for book imports is for electronic books and it is, in my experience, not apparent to users until an inaccurate bibliography is created.

    Perhaps you could:
    A) Change the default from electronic to print
    B) Bring the 'this is an electronic resource' tick-box to the top of the screen when a user imports a book record.

  6. Google Docs Tool -- Add the ability to include page numbers as part of the in-text citation

In APA if you are using a direct quote one should include the page number(s) as part of the in-text citation. In the Google docs tool, there is a space for adding page numbers for that very reason, but it's grayed out and unusable.

Our students primarily use Google docs for their writing so this would be super helpful.

  7. Do responsive the Refworks site

Currently the user interface and login site are hard to handle trough mobile devices.

I suggest a user interface auto adaptable to device screen (responsive)

  8. Add a ref type for "dissertation"

There is no reference type in RefWorks for dissertations, only theses. In APA style, citations for dissertations and theses are formatted differently so RefWorks should offer an additional reference type.

  9. Increase the number of allowed subfolders

Currently allowed 4 subfolders under each main folder. Would like that increase by several more allowed subfolders to better organize large projects or issues.

  10. the option to copy references to other projects

Please add the function to copy references to other projects not "Using the Export References" or "Using a Shared Folder".
Both of these methods require many steps.
We need more easy way to copy references to other projects.

  11. tags

With a shared folder for a team, we're all adding references and trying to keep them organized. We initially used tags and then learned that they were account specific so other team members can't see our tags. However, tags are the best way to organize and search the entries. When added in shared folder, tags should be visible to all.

  12. Deduplication of sub-folders, or between folders

I would like to be able to de-duplicate sub-folders, for example where each sub-folder contains the results from a database search for a systematic review.

Alternatively, a user should be able to choose to de-duplicate any two or more folders in refworks.

  14. Make it possible to add the RefID to an export or to a custom style

We would like to export from New RefWorks with a RefID included. At this moment, the default export options don't include the RefID and it's not possible to add the field RefID to a custom style.

Use case: two researchers have to look at the literature for a systematic review and decide on inclusion or exclusion. They want to have a list in Excel with title and abstract and RefID to make it easier to compare and clean their list afterwards. This is possible in Legacy RefWorks, but not in New/ProQuest RefWorks.

  15. Show Author Address/Affiliation in the Full View

I manage an institutional database in legacy RefWorks, where it is vital, that I can see the author affiliation in reference.

Please make this field visible in New RefWorks as well.

  16. Export to BibLaTeX format

RefWorks currently exports to BibTeX, the legacy bibliography system in TeX, but not to BibLaTeX, the modern and powerful bibliographic management in LaTeX&friends. Updating to BibLaTeX data model shouldn't be a big issue for RefWorks as it has the framework for exporting to BibTeX. Other tools like JabRef, Citavi, Zotero... have already native support for BibLaTeX.

  17. Add remove from folder button to folder menu bar

Improve removing a reference from a folder

Current method: Click on delete button, then select remove from folder.

Suggested method: have a remove from folder button on the folder top menu bar.

  18. 'Create a new account' when linking to New RefWorks for the first time from a search tool (Google Scholar, Primo etc)?

From Google Scholar, Primo etc, when you click on the RefWorks link next to each search record, it takes you to the following page:

    https://refworks.proquest.com/combined-export/?groupcode=RWMiddlesexU&detoken=XBLgJo9sJFPnYg1wJ%5B44

If you then select to export to the New Refworks, you are taken to the following page:

    https://refworks.proquest.com/login/

However, this is problematic, as it does not offer the opportunity to 'Create a new Account'.

We think that users should be directed to the following URL instead: https://refworks.proquest.com/

  19. Add Batch Account Inactive Function by Last active on New RW Admin Page

We would like to make accounts delete/inactive by batch after narrowing by "Last active" on the admin page of New RefWorks. This is available on Legacy RefWroks' admin page.

  20. Opportunity for creating hyperlinks between in-text ctations and related references in the bibliography

As lots of reports are read as pfd-files is would be a nice help for the reader to have the possibility to jump from the in-text citation to the appropriate entry in the bibliography. Creating Hyperlinks Between In-text Citations and Related References is an option that has been seen at other reference tools
