Adding ability in author search to see multiple authors with similar names, and to globally change one to another (from Legacy Refworks)
We track publications by authors at our organization, and we format the authors’ names so each one is always the same; e.g, Donald P. Wilson is always Wilson, Don P. even if it was imported from PubMed as Wilson DP. It was easy to search for an author’s name and globally change any stray formats into the same one in the Legacy RefWorks. We'd greatly appreciate having this restored in the new Refworks! Thank you for your consideration.

Copy and paste ready-material citation style from other Sources
Ready-made citations are provided in some databases. However, there is no 'copy and paste' function in Refworks to import them. The articles from four very popular databases cannot be grabbed by 'Save to Refworks' - Britannica School, Questia, Statista and Discovery Education Streaming. But the databases provide citations, it is ashamed that the data cannot be transferred to Refworks easily.

Refworks plugin available in Overleaf (LaTeX editor)
A direct plugin to insert bibliography from Refworks in Overleaf (like it's possible with others reference managers as Mendely, Zotero...)

Add more severe authentication
We have institutions which have multiple campuses or branch office and use a common institutional email address domain.
If only one campus/office of a large-scale institution subscribes RefWorks, it needs to restrict to access or create new account from other places.
I think that to add the authentication by all of the following required items would be resolved:
- access to the unique URL
- enter the invitation code
- enter the institutional email address domain10 votes -
Looked by Author/Periodical
Please re-implement "Looked by Author/Periodical" features that were implemented in the legacy Refworks.
These functions were very useful for keeping track of the total number of articles by author and by publication in the database, and for browsing through the lists.

Add the ability for group members in a shared Project to leave feedback/messages for each other.
For example, I have a professor working with a group of students. They are all collaborating on a Project. The professor would like to leave feedback for the students regarding the references they are adding.

Help keeping the consistency of author's names II. Provide Author Management.
Legacy Refworks had a very useful feature. You could do "Search by author". That search gave you a list of all authors matching the search with the number of publications of each author. Then you could select a specific author and obtain a list of all her references.
New refworks has not such a search. So it is difficult for one to really know when one could have the same author entered differently in the database.9 votes -
Help keeping the consistency of author's names I. Help in typing the name.
Legacy Refworks had a very useful feature. When you were typing an author's name at the respective field the system prompted you to use some of the names you already had in your database. This helped you to have the same author always with the same name, avoiding unnecesary typos and different versions of the same author ¿Could it be possibe to recover this feature in the new Refworks?

Sentence Casing - stop words
It would be extremely helpful if RefWorks could have an easy to use function to specify certain words not to be changed when using 'Sentence Casing’.
If some frequently used words and names were built into RW e.g. America, China etc. so that user did not have to do anything for them, that would be even better. Possibly making that customisable by admin at a site level as well as by individuals would be even better.
Many thanks

Fix Syntax Errors in BibTeX Export, Automatic Sync with Overleaf
Currently RefWorks' BibTeX export functionality makes a lot of basic syntax mistakes.
It does not automatically escape symbols such as '&' with '&' and '%' with '\%' as is required.
It also does not handle company authors well as it takes "Company, Inc." and just writes "author={Company, Inc.}" which is processed by BibTeX as "lastname, firstname". What needs to be done is "author={{Company, Inc.}}" and RefWorks does not do it automatically so I have to keep fixing it every time I export a RefWorks project's references into BibTeX.
Furthermore, RefWorks' doesn't even attempt to preserve the capitalisation of acronyms like…

Please bring back "My List" to the new RefWorks
Please bring back the "My List" function from legacy RefWorks. I realize you can create reference lists from folders or projects or if all the references you need appear on a single page (e.g., what you've just imported). But, what is missing is a way to create a temporary list of references you are working with without having to put them into another folder or project. For example, if you've written your paper and just need to add those last handful of references, there is no longer an efficient way to create that list while navigating between different pages and…

Move the URL field to the top of the citation record preview screen
Currently, the link resolver "Check for Full Text" field appears at the very top of the citation record preview screen. However, the URL field appears near the bottom of a citation preview record. For certain publication types, especially grey literature, the link resolver links perform poorly. It would be ideal if the URL field appeared near the top of the record with the link resolver field to ensure end users discover it.

Notification when Share folder is accepted
Send the folder Owner a notification or unflag my folder, when the Share recipient accepts the Share / views the folder.
Currently, we have no idea whether the recipient has Accepted the Share, or opened / viewed the folder. Ideally, the shared folder could be flagged as "share pending" until the recipient has accepted or viewed it.8 votes -

Add a feature in "manage projects" to hide or group projects
Add a feature in "manage projects" to hide or group projects. Our instructors have a long list of projects that students have invited them to that they'd like to organize into current and archived areas to more easily navigate.

RefWorks Statistics - referencing/citation style being used
If possible please include stats on what referencing/citation style our users are using in refworks (and if possible in WnC).
Reasons : to help us have a better idea of what our users are actually using and catch those areas using other styles that we are aware of.

Add NCBI abbreviations for AMA 11th edition
Abbreviation of journals in accordance with NCBI https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/nlmcatalog/journals/ is inconsistent for AMA 11th edition format. Sometimes the generated citations have abbreviated titles and other times they don't.

Request for a Feature to View Citation Styles and Output Results in a List
On the "Create Bibliography" screen, it was previously possible to view the list of Citation styles in alphabetical order. Now, it seems that the list only appears after entering a search term.
I would appreciate it if there were a way to view the style names and their output results in a list without entering a search term.5 votes
