How can we improve RefWorks?

You've used all your votes and won't be able to post a new idea, but you can still search and comment on existing ideas.

  1. Remove final periods from footnote citations with multiple references

    In Chicago Notes & Bibliography style, footnote citations with multiple references are showing the final period (".") after each reference, even though RefWorks is correctly separating each reference with a semi-colon (";"), as per the Footnotes settings. Can you include a setting to automate removal of the final period?

    For example, when I add a footnote with one citation with RefWorks Citation Manager in Word, it correctly formats it as such:

    Clifford Geertz, The Interpretation of Cultures; Selected Essays (New York: Basic Books, 1973).

    However, when I add a footnote with two references, it does the following:

  2. Screen Reader Accessibility issue and RefWorks profile creation.

    My name is Daniel Bernardo and I am a Digital Accessibility Specialist reviewing online course materials at UNT. We reviewed RefWorks in regard to an upcoming course and found some accessibility issues regarding the use of assistive technology for users with visual impairments.

    My colleague who is fully blind and relying on NVDA screen reader and keyboard navigation found that he couldn't continue setting up his profile by himself after registering due to the popup window that appears one the page that is linked in the confirmation email.   3. Set candidate duplicates as "no duplicates"

    While deduplicating records that have been suggested as duplicates and that I have recognised as not being real duplicates accumulate at the beginning of each new page. They can become a hindrance, so it would be useful that there is a way to tell RefWorks that those records ARE NOT duplicates, so it would stop displaying them in deduplication pages.

  4. Add more severe authentication

    We have institutions which have multiple campuses or branch office and use a common institutional email address domain.
    If only one campus/office of a large-scale institution subscribes RefWorks, it needs to restrict to access or create new account from other places.
    I think that to add the authentication by all of the following required items would be resolved:
    - access to the unique URL
    - enter the invitation code
    - enter the institutional email address domain
