allow more content types to link out to resource from catalogue
It would be great if catalogue records, which contains an 856, could link directly to the resource from Summon. At present this can only be done if the record is an eBook, eJournal or a Journal.
Linking back to the catalogue record isn't an ideal scenario for the end user when all they wnat is to get to the online resource.8 votes -
Improve author search in Summon
Users are frustrated trying to limit a search to a specific author. I.e. using Author: "kelly, Daniel" - the results returned are for Kelly, Daniel J ; Kelly, Daniel P etc.
Why is this search function not more precise, and returning only Kelly, Daniel ?

Go directly from Quick Look window to journal page
Some journal records have link to the 360 Core results screen on the Quick Look window.
It would be better if it were possible to go directly from the Quick Look window to journal page without going through 360 Core screen. Please see the atteched.6 votes -
Search by URL in the client center
It would be great to be able to search a journal's URL in the client center. Sometimes I need to find out which collection uses a certain URL for a journal and doing a title search + checking each title individually is cumbersome.

Filtering Journals based on Indexing like ABDC, ABS, FT 50, Web of Scince, SCOPUS, Both Scopus & WOS
Filtering Journals based on Indexing like ABDC, ABS, Web of Scince, SCOPUS, Both Scopus & WOS
As this filter option is necessary for the research scholars & faculty members literature review purposes. They focus on particular category journals for literature search.
We would appreciate it if you could take forward this suggestion to your development team.
I will be happy to support & provide the necessary data for this implementation process.

Fix inconsistencies with HTML display in Custom Panel Sections between admin and production
The editor for Pages > Custom Panel Sections is inconsistent with what's displayed in the Summon interface.
Example #1--I attempted to insert a line break (<br>) in the title of the panel (to have a two-line header for the panel). After submitting, the admin tool properly displayed the line break. In Summon, however, the title displayed as a single line with the "<br>" displaying. It would be good if the panel title display in the admin tool matched how the title would display in Summon.
Example 2: I was editing the panel in source mode and entered bold tags (<b>,…

Enable search by full DOI URL
In the E-Journal Portal, it would be helpful to enable lookup by the full DOI URL.
For example, entering "https://doi.org/10.1016/j.jpag.2021.01.016" would still search for "10.1016/j.jpag.2021.01.016"3 votes -
Upping the limit of characters in the menu setting
We would like it if we could up the limit of characters in the menu settings part of the admin tools in intota. Currently the limit seems to be 50 characters.

Add a new report for all search terms
Add a report similar to popular search terms that lists all search terms no matter how many times it has been searched as the popular search terms report has a default of a minimum of 16 hits.

Block titles across multiple databases
We want to filter out several publications and publishers from wherever they might appear in our holdings, rather than having to go in and edit the title lists in individual databases in the Offline Date and Status Editor. Once you deselect titles in ODSE, the title list no longer updates automatically and you have to manually update the database lists. We keep seeing the same lousy titles showing up over and over again (especially in various Gale products) and it is a pain to edit them out of every single Gale collection and/or deselect entire databases.

Enable DOI search for not CrossRef DOI
360 Link can search content by DOI published by CrossrRef.
But DOI published by other institute (e.g. JaLC) is not searchable.
So please enable DOI Search for not CrossRef DOI.9 votes -
Sorting results with Web of Science Citation Score
It will be nice to sort search results with the citation score of Web of Science.
It is also desirable as a next best practice to provide a refinement function for limiting the search results to those with WoS citation score.0 votes -
resizeable Logo in Saved Search Email
It would be great if the email sent when a user clicks on the Saved Search option used a size appropriate logo.
At present it looks like it uses the largest logo imaginable and makes the whole thing look like it was made in GCSE computing class. Its not very professional looking.
At least a Saved Searches email logo option in the Summon admin would be a start.2 votes -
Improvement request for Removed Titles report
If titles are removed to make a zero title database, the information does not appear in the Removed Titles report.
Example)
https://knowledge.exlibrisgroup.com/360_KB/Knowledge_Articles/360_KB%3A_American_Society_for_Microbiology_Journals_Database%3A_ TitlesWillBeRemoved--September2022Therefore, I must constantly check 360KB News to be aware of any title removal.
I would like that information to appear in the Removed Titles report.0 votes -

No information on the necessity to use parentheses in complex queries on Summon Search Query Help
Currently, there is no information about the necessity to use parentheses in case of more complex search queries in the Summon Search Query help (at least in our library and I was told that the help page is the same around the world). Users who often use Google Scholar as a rule of thumb do not use parentheses because Google works well even without them but in case of Summon, the use of parentheses in more complex queries is essential.
Even on ExLibris Knowledge Center web (page Summon: Phrase, Field, Boolean, Wildcard and Proximity Searching - https://tinyurl.com/2fy5sx2h) it is…35 votes -
Add an option to limit "Print resource"
Summon has the refinement to filter the results to print books. We need an option to limit "Print resource" (not only book, but also, print journals, microfilms ...).
Especially, Print journal is important for the customer Summon over Alma, since former ILS had it.8 votes -
Remove double separator for more identifiers (hardcoded)
Remove double separator when the bib record has more same identifiers:
I.E.: for two ISBN, Summon display the separator ;,
ISBN 0521451639;, ISBN 0521466903 (pbk.)The display of the identifiers in the Summon Over Alma services page is hard coded by design, so it is not possible to modify the display of the delimiter in the Brief record.

Statistics for Best Bets
I would love to get data on how effective our Best Bets are in Summon -- to get a sense of how often users are engaging with a Best Bet to find information or a resource, based on certain anticipated searching behavior. Such data would help me to decide how much time to invest in crafting future Best Bets -- particularly the tags. But I could also include the data in annual reporting.

Allow merging of duplicate metadata records for newspaper articles prior to January 1, 2000.
I reported a case of 12 metadata records for the same NYT newspaper article. Search: "carmichael oregon high desert"
This was the response from support:
Records with the resource type "newspaper articles" from before January 1, 2000 - CANNOT MERGE.
Unfortunately it seems that CDI is currently not designed to provide the functionality described.
The next step is to pursue this as an enhancement.3 votes
