  1. Add Publinova (SURF) to Summon

    At the moment, Summon indexes the Dutch HBO Kennisbank, which includes theses and research publications from Dutch universities of applied sciences.

    From January 2026, research publications will move to a new platform called Publinova, also managed by SURF (theses will stay in HBO Kennisbank).

    To ensure continued discovery of Dutch applied research, please start indexing Publinova in Summon.
    This will keep research publications from Dutch universities of applied sciences searchable and accessible to users.

  2. DL saved records as CSV/Excel files

    Currently, search results can be sent by email in CSV format, but saved records can only be exported to citation management tools or sent by email. It would be convenient if saved records could also be downloaded as CSV or Excel files.

  3. Add Person info card feature

    Enable the 'Person Info Card' feature in Summon.

    The option is already in production in Primo VE: https://knowledge.exlibrisgroup.com/Primo/Product_Documentation/020Primo_VE/Primo_VE_(English)/150End_User_Help/Searching_Linked_Open_Data_-_Person_Entity

    For users it would be really helpful to display in the discovery the related information provided by the linked open data.

  4. Usage Statistics for Summon Research Assistant

    We would be very grateful if you could consider adding a usage reporting feature for the Summon Research Assistant in the near future.

    We noticed in your documentation that there is a daily threshold of 10,000 searches per institution:

    While we understand the need for this limit, we would find it very helpful if we could monitor our actual usage levels.   5. Summon Research Assistant via proxy

    Integrate Summon Research Assistant (SRA) with a proxy client, such as EZproxy. Currently the only way for patrons to use SRA with a proxy client is by following the authentication banner link.

    We don't use Microsoft or Google authentication and our federated SSO service is not supported. We don't require authentication for anything but RSA so we prefer not use the authentication banner.

    It would be helpful if we could set up the RSA link button to redirect via proxy server (e.g. https://windesheim.idm.oclc.org/login?url=https://windesheim.summon.serialssolutions.com/#!/research_assistant?)

  7. The ability to edit eBook title and publication year metadata in 360.

    Is it possible to give customers/librarians the ability to edit certain eBook metadata (title, publication year) ourselves in order to improve match and merge functionality. We have so many duplicate records because the metadata from 360 and Summon poor, titles and/or publication year are wrong, leading it to not merge with our catalog record. Is it possible to give the control to the Librarians to edit that metadata to allow for less duplicate records without having to put in Support tickets all the time to fix titles and pub years?

    It would be very useful if Summon added an AI powered “Smart Research Assistant” feature that helps users refine searches automatically. The system could suggest better keywords, related academic topics, citation recommendations, and summarized previews of research papers based on the user’s search intent. This would save time for students and researchers while making the platform more interactive and modern. A personalized dashboard showing recent searches, saved topics, and trending research fields could also improve the overall user experience significantly. Although it is a real-estate website rather than a library platform, it provides an example of how information can be grouped into clear sections and presented in a way that helps visitors locate key details quickly.

    Studying websites outside the library sector can sometimes provide ideas for improving navigation, content hierarchy, and user experience in discovery systems and institutional portals.

  12. Include alternative title fields for manually-uploaded titles in 360 client center

    In the client center/Serials Solutions, titles that are uploaded manually (whether under an individual electronic publisher or under print institutional holdings) should include fields for alternative titles to facilitate searching and prevent users from reaching dead ends. In addition, an option should be included to omit letters/words when indexing so that titles starting with A/An/The are indexed properly. Fixing both of these issues would vastly improve the search experience for our users.

  13. Client Center: display whether databases use IEDL or OpenURL

    Currently, there isn't a way for customers to see whether databases are using IEDL or Open URL. It would be really useful to know which one of the two a database uses.
    If this can be implemented, IEDL should also show whether it has been switched on or off for you, as an individual customer. So, in short:
    1.Display whether a database uses IEDL or OpenURL.
    2.Specify whether IEDL has especifically been switched on/off for you (not for all customers).

    We would like to have the ability to change the name above the search box in the Summon home page. The text currently reads "Library Search" and, in order to customise it, the only option is adding a JavaScript code. JavaScript isn't user friendly and it relies on customers knowing JavaScript. Despite that, we have tried adding a script but it did not work successfully across all browsers, with some browsers displaying the new text and others not picking up on the change.

  17. Metadata from Database Link Resolver into the Resource Sharing request form

    Allow more metadata from Database Link Resolver into the Resource Sharing request form to ensure the library staff can more easily fulfill the request and patrons are well-informed through notifications of the exact item they have requested - for example a specific chapter from a multi-chapter book written or edited by someone other than the chapter's author. Having the Book Title, Chapter Title, Book Editor/Author, and Chapter Author would be helpful especially for our faculty patrons.

    Custom panels can be used to post announcements such as special hours or advertising events. These require the messages to be added or removed manually. It would be helpful to schedule when the post is persistent and when its disabled.

    Currently, not all databases are provided with article/chapter-level linking for different reasons. The ones that have article/chapter-level linking, are added to the following page so customers can consult details:

    We have found through experience that the document above is not 100% up to date, meaning that customers using it lose faith in the accuracy of that content. We propose for this information to be added at database level in the Client Center. This change would mean:
