Display all 5xx note fields as the default in Summon
Make display of all 5xx note fields the default in Summon in the Catalog Detail page, results screen and elsewhere. These fields already appear in Primo, with various labels (General note for 500, Language note for 546, Awards note for 586, Bibliography for 504, etc.). With these omitted from Summon, patrons are missing vital, helpful information from bibliographic records, such as: accessibility features for patrons with disabilities (532, 546); detailed language information--not just the languages themselves, but whether they’re for subtitles, described video, certain articles in anthologies, etc. (546); awards won for picture books, Academy Award winning movies, etc. (586);…

Add a custom JS/CSS field to simplify UI customization
If you want to apply custom CSS currently, you need to use the Summon 2.0 External Script URL field in the Admin Consol, then call the CSS from that script. The files then need to be hosted somewhere. A better solution for us would be to incorporate a custom JS/CSS field in the Summon Admin Console to allow you to directly enter your script or CSS; or a file upload facility like the Springshare products (see attached screenshot from the LibGuides admin area). This would speed up our ability to fix issues and make usability changes.

Displaying all links available in Summon results page
We would like to suggest ExLibris to enhance in Summon results page by displaying all fulltext links subscribed in the knowledgebase. Having only one fulltext link available when there are multiple sources available to choose from can help maximize the use of the library’s resources and most important offer users a solution when the 1st link presented doesn’t work. EJP is already doing this.
It’s kind of a problem also. The situation happened this week when the Proquest research platform was experiencing connectivity issue and performed a temporary maintenance. Because Proquest fulltext links are direct linking, the user was not…

Summon results not displaying custom coverage dates
On Summon results, show custom coverage dates next to links so researchers know what they should have access to before clicking on an e-Resource. The EJP seems to do this. Without this feature this is causing much frustration and confusion for users.

Better Summon display for serial publications
In Summon, series titles and volume numbers are not being displayed for publications from monographic series with content type such as ebook, book, and Government Document. To display the series title and volume number, users have to click on the Preview link.
Users often identify or search series publications by the title and number of the series and not necessarily by the title of the monograph publication within that series. This is particularly true with grey literature or when a publication is being published annually or periodically under the same or very similar title. By not showing this information on…

Language selection
We have received complaints about the difficulty in changing the language on the Summon-page. It's not intuitive to have to click on the language you already see in order to get the other alternative/s. We would like the alternative you click on first to be called Change language or maybe just "language". As it is now, if I want to change language from Swedish to English, I first have to click on Swedish to get to the Language-menu and be able to chose English.

Display all 300 subfields as the default for all media
Make display of all subfields from the 300 physical description field the default in Summon for all types of materials, in the catalog detail screen, results screens, and elsewhere. Currently, Summon only displays 300 MARC physical description information for books in search results and catalog detail pages; and even for books, only subfield “a” (pagination) is included. This means that patrons can’t see information like: number of DVDs or CDs in a set; whether movies are in black-and-white or color; playing time of DVDs or CDs; any accompanying materials like booklets with DVDs or CDs in book-and-CD sets; types and…

Better Branding Options
Current option to add a logo is a recommended 312x53 size for the large logo. This seems like an odd size, but it also limits a library's ability to brand their Summon instances. It would be nice to offer a more flexible option so we can better brand our Summon instance so its clear to the user what they are searching and make our admin happy because we can use our official library/campus logo.

Take "Language" field information from 546 and not 041
Please take information for the “Language” field in Summon and the Alma Display Services page from the 546 language note bibliographic field, instead of the 041 language codes bibliographic field. The 546 language note contains more detailed information about the languages included in a resource than the 041, including whether they’re for subtitles, described video, summaries as opposed to full articles, translations, etc. The current information in the Language display is not helpful for patrons. Not only does it not give details about how the languages appear in a resource, the displayed languages aren’t consistent with the language of the…

Support the use of French boolean operators
Searching using the French boolean operators - et/ou/sauf -- is not currently fully supported in Summon. This would be a useful addition to those libraries who provide a French interface to their instance of Summon.

Fields 530 and 550^i not displaying in Summon for records from Aquatic Sciences and Fisheries Abstracts (database F1W)
I would like to propose that the default settings for the content type=Government document record to be changed. Currently, the default "brief" view does not include the volume/Issue data for content type=government documents. Instead, the Issue field data is located in the Preview section and the client would need to know to click on the Preview button in order to see the volume/issue number. This is not user-friendly or obvious to clients. In particular, this is not working for the display of Aquatic Sciences and Fisheries Abstract records.

Customising LibGuides integration so they only appear in the right-hand column and not in the results
We are just looking into integrating our LibGuides with Summon, but we would like to just have the librarian and guide link appearing in the right-hand panel and not at the top of the search results. It doesn't appear to be possible to have one without the other at present. Although we would like to promote our guides, we don't want to distract the students from their results by making them the top result. Please vote if you would find this useful too!

Display parallel titles in Summon
The correction in Summon to index parallel titles as titles (instead of as subtitles) was welcomed; however, the resulting elimination of parallel titles in search results displays was not. In the current iteration of Summon, which parallel title appears in the catalog is solely left to chance, and whichever appears first in a bibliographic record. However, if Summon can display all other title subfields and information in search results, including subfields B, N and P, it should include parallel title information as well. The lack of parallel titles is problematic for patron search and retrieval. For example, a patron searching…

Include "Research Guides" as one of the available Content Types in the advanced search.
This was prompted by Alan Cockerill's suggestion in the Summon mailing list for limiting search results to libraries LibGuides by using the "Research Guides" content type. It can be done via post-search faceting, but the advanced search form doesn't show "Research Guides" as a checkbox option for content types. It'd be nice to see that there.

Add a Searchable Author Affiliation Index for Summon (Advanced Search)
Most commercial databases offer a searchable author affiliation index. Summon does not in the Advanced Search screen, nor is this information indexed in the Author field contents.
Since they must already have this information in their records, why not create a separate searchable index for Author Affiliation??
For our current awareness, we would like to create RSS feeds for journal articles written by professors from other engineering universities.
Thanks!

Display edition and publication year in brief results, for books and ebooks
I have been told by Ex Libris support that Summon only exposes the edition in the short summary for records that have a content type of 'Book'. This makes it difficult for patrons to determine which edition is the most recent, where both books and ebooks are available. See attached image for an example of how both can be displayed, to reduce confusion.

Giving some Ahead of Print citations in Summon a status of Citation Online
To date there is no way to give "Ahead of Print" citations in Summon a status of Citation Online for institutions that do not subscribe to the journal via the publisher's website. For instance, the following citation is listed in Summon:
