Link Summon to Alma Sandbox
As Summon over Alma customer, we request Summon Preview Environment is link to Alma Sandbox.
For example, the link "My Library Account" is linked to "https://.alma.exlibrisgroup.com/discovery/account?vid=*****_INST:Services§ion=overview&lang=e now.
However, the link should be going to Sandbox.3 votes -
Availability in Location Items section
For a journal, each value in the calculated availability is calculated independently, based on the lowest and highest value of the items, even if they do not come from the same items.
I.E: if we have the following items:
2022,1 to 2022,4 and 2023,1in Summon the availability is displayed with:
from:1 2022 until:4 2023instead of
from:1 2022 until:1 2023We would like change the summary calculation in availability.

Start Collecting E Media reports (IR_M1) in Intota
The COUNTER IRM1 report is necessary for ACRL IPEDS survey's e-media usage reporting. As many academic libraries must comply with this reporting, It would be greatly appreciated if you could begin collecting IRM1 reports.

autoholdings for Springer ebooks
Hi!
we would like to get auto holdings from Springer when we buy their single ebooks.
Right now it works from eBook central and T&F and we would like the same service from Springer ebook shop as well.

removing the red “-1” Content Type exclusion indicator
suggest removing the red “-1” Content Type exclusion indicator. We feel it comes across to users like a warning or error – an alert that is negative in nature. The navy “Selected” box at the top of the facet pane is a much friendlier and more useful indicator, and the exclusions are well marked in the Content type list itself, so the red “-1” indicator feels redundant and potentially misleading. If removing it isn't possible or palatable, please allow it to be disabled in the Summon admin module.

date limiter buttons - keep the end date open rather than automatically entering a value of today's date
issue with the "quick pick" date limiter options (1 year, 3 years, etc.) - a "hard" end date is set (today's date) which is invisible to the user unless they click the pencil icon, meaning any results with future publication dates will be excluded from the search results. It's really common for journal articles to show a publication date in the future, and the way the date shortcut buttons are configured, any such articles will not be include in the results. We believe this is counter to what users expect when they use date limiters, and in particular the "shortcut"…

Don't force title case in Summon UI for Search Scope Names
Allow the Summon UI to display Search Scope Names as they have been entered by the library instead of forcing them to display in title case.
For example, if the Scope Name is Books and Journals, display "Books and Journals" in the UI, and if it's Circulating Collection (items you can check out), display "Circulating Collection (items you can check out)" in the UI.
Right now, these Scope Names are forced to be displayed as "Books And Journals" and "Circulating Collection (Items You Can Check Out)" for the end user.

After updating library locations under Mapping in the admin module, you must submit for approval and indexing can take several weeks. You must keep checking back to see if the changes are "live" in the status field. Could the admin simply receive an email when they changes are live?

The ability to edit eBook title and publication year metadata in Summon
Is it possible to give librarians the ability to edit certain eBook metadata (title, publication year) ourselves in order to improve match and merge functionality. We have so many duplicate records because the metadata from the Summon index is poor, titles and/or publication year are wrong, leading it to not merge with our catalog record. Is it possible to give the control to the Librarians to edit that metadata to allow for less duplicate records without having to put in Support tickets all the time with long lists of duplicate records to fix?

Index eBook content directly from publishers?
Index eBook content directly from publishers. There seems to be more and more eBook titles from many of our collections that are not available in the Summon Index. Is there a way to get this metadata from other sources like directly from the publishers so that the ebooks will show in Summon without having to dump the records in from the catalog to get it in there?

Ability to self-sort library locations in mapping in Admin Console
After making changes in Mapping>Library Locations in the Summon Admin console, it would be helpful to have the ability to sort the library locations table by both the Location Code or the Location Name. I make changes here based on a sorted list I receive from our cataloging department. Having the screen I initially see be sorted in alphabetical order (the same way I receive my list from cataloging) lets me eyeball how much work, if any, is needed. If I could see a sorted list, I could more easily see if we have a location code or a location…

Next Expected Update date for collections
Similar to the "Last Full Update" and "Last Partial Update" dates in the 360 KB database entries, it could cut down on the volume of cases about new individual titles if the collections that get updated on a regular schedule also had "Next Expected Update" date to display.

Search by URL in the client center
It would be great to be able to search a journal's URL in the client center. Sometimes I need to find out which collection uses a certain URL for a journal and doing a title search + checking each title individually is cumbersome.

Provide the ability to make a custom title for an ebook or ejournal
Sometimes the titles provided by publishers are messy looking (random capitalizations and punctuation) or the editions are inconsistent (sometimes a number, sometimes spelled out). It would be great to be able to either edit the title or have the ability to add our own custom titles.

Filtering Journals based on Indexing like ABDC, ABS, FT 50, Web of Scince, SCOPUS, Both Scopus & WOS
Filtering Journals based on Indexing like ABDC, ABS, Web of Scince, SCOPUS, Both Scopus & WOS
As this filter option is necessary for the research scholars & faculty members literature review purposes. They focus on particular category journals for literature search.
We would appreciate it if you could take forward this suggestion to your development team.
I will be happy to support & provide the necessary data for this implementation process.

Integration of Summon search results when bibliographic records contain both physical and electronic inventories.
If a bibliographic record has the both physical and electronic inventories, Alma pushlishes each inventory as Physical Inventory and Electronic Enventory with different publishing ID to Summon. Accordingly, Summon can't do M&M, shows the multple results. This is not a good design.

Enable search by full DOI URL
In the E-Journal Portal, it would be helpful to enable lookup by the full DOI URL.
For example, entering "https://doi.org/10.1016/j.jpag.2021.01.016" would still search for "10.1016/j.jpag.2021.01.016"3 votes -
Full title of search result on mouseover (titles are truncated on smaller screens)
Problem: Summon users who have smaller display screens (such as laptops) are not seeing the full title for search results – instead search results are being truncated with the remainder of the title not visible for the user.
For academic journal articles that often have long titles, this means that users are not able to properly identify a search result’s relevance.
Currently, the only way these users can find out the full title is by clicking through each result and going directly to the source. This is undesirable for users as is time consuming and clunky.Proposed solution: We propose…

Display multiple editions of a title in order, most recent first.
Multiple editions of a title often display in the Summon search results in a seemingly random order. Different editions of the same title should display in a logical order with the most recent edition first. We have reported countless instances of this behaviour over the years and are told that it is unfixable due to the quality of metadata.
Summon should link different editions of a title together so it can display them in a logical order. As Summon will not always be able to do this accurately, give customers a way to edit and improve the data so we…
