360 Core "Automated Holdings Management" currently supports the ProQuest Ebooks providers only. This feed greatly reduces the amount of work
360 Core "Automated Holdings Management" currently supports the ProQuest Ebooks providers only.
This feed greatly reduces the amount of work to maintain ebook holdings by the librarians.
It would be great if you could add the same feeds for Elsevier, Springer and EBSCO ebooks.93 votesThe initial phases of supporting KBART file exchange are on the 2022 roadmap. Building out this support will enable us to extend auto-holdings management to other providers.

Create an LTI for Summon so that it can be integrated into LMS (Canvas or others).
We want to integrate Summon into our Learning Management Ssystem (LMS) which is Canvas. The easiest way to do this is if we use an existing library service that has an LTI (Learning Tools Interoperability').
Libraries who add search option are using some kind of library LTI product. That's the only way to add something in the sidebar of a Canvas course. Our ILS/catalog does not off an LTI application for connecting it to an LMS. It would be a great improvement if Summon offered an LTI.

Summon results not displaying custom coverage dates
On Summon results, show custom coverage dates next to links so researchers know what they should have access to before clicking on an e-Resource. The EJP seems to do this. Without this feature this is causing much frustration and confusion for users.

Open Access filtering and restriction
Open-access resources should not need to be selected in a library's Intota instance to reliably indicate that they are accessible to the Summon user.
Currently, when a user checks both the OA filter and the 'include outside sources' box, some resources present in results with the ambiguous message that they are open-access, but are unavailable or only obtainable via ILL (according to what text the library displays in this circumstance.) Users can't know which to believe- is it accessible or not?
Since open-access resources brought into search results come from either a library's Intota selections or the Summon index, it…

All open access content, whether part of your collection or included in the Central Discovery Index and displayed when searching beyond your library's collection, should have an open access icon that will link to the content.

Apply Open Access Indicator only when link in search result is open access
Because article-level linking is not yet available for some open access databases, Summon is providing links in to non-open access sources while displaying the Open Access Indicator which is confusing for those searching Summon without the credentials for accessing licensed resources. Example: http://tinyurl.com/yd6qc22w Levasseur, T. J. (2012). THE ENVIRONMENT CONTAINS NO "RIGHT" AND "LEFT": NAVIGATING IDEOLOGY, RELIGION, AND VIEWS OF THE ENVIRONMENT IN CONTEMPORARY AMERICAN SOCIETY. Journal for the Study of Religions and Ideologies, 11(33), 62-88.
Either include in the Summon result a link to the open access database where a publication is available open access, or remove the Open…

allow kbart uploading for library specific holdings
For collections not in Intota, if we can get kbart files from the vendor, it would be great to be able to use the kbart file provided as opposed to transfer the information a new format.

Add "Council of Science Editors" (CSE) to Cite this Item options
Faculty has requested that Council of Science Editors (CSE) formatting style be added as an option in Summon's "Cite this Item" drop-down menu.
2 votesWith Custom Citation Styles (planned for H2 2022) you will be able to add a variety of formatting styles, and if the style you would like is not available, you can create one.

Add style guide for ACS (American Chemical Society)
Now that we've added IEEE, could we add ACS style format for citation style options? Thanks!
https://pubs.acs.org/doi/book/10.1021/acsguide1 voteCustom citation styles, planned for H2 2022, will provide the ability to add a variety of citation styles, and if it's not available, you can create it.

Creating reliable linking to open access content, depending on authentication
We have run into issues with open access materials leading to a paywalled (authentication required) link, within Summon. From a patron's perspective, when they click the "Open Access" facet, all results should be open access content, but this is not always the case, based on the Match & Merge process. To fix this, and allow patrons interested in OA content to reliably link to OA content, could we order the links in records based on whether or not a patron has already logged in and authenticated in our Summon instance? If they have not authenticated and choose open access, the…
1 voteWe have an Open Access linking improvement planned for the second half of 2022. If there is an Open Access link, we'll add a link to the Open Access icon. Appearance of this link will be configurable (on/off) by institution.

Refine search sort order
We would find it useful to be able to re-order the facets listed in Refine Your Search section of the Summon results display, so that facets used most are placed towards the top.
