Exclude certain records or collections from search results
We have a link to browse on our catalogue homepage to show new items added to the collection within the last 7 days. We would like this search to ONLY show the titles we have ordered or received by donation; NOT the titles from open access collections. Often open access collection titles are in other languages or on topics we don't need at our library so they are not helpful to our users to have in the new items search results list.
We would like to be able to specify which records/collections are displayed in certain circumstances.

"Feedback Tool" for the New Primo UI: Configuring the Feedback Letter - please support multilingualism
There are already pre-defined labels for the e-mail in different languages (e.g. default.report.emailTextNoEmail) but they are currently non-functional :-(

So, please vote for this idea ;-)13 votes -
Pre-filter for Primo database search
Please add pre-filters to the Primo database search to allow users to filter their results prior to performing a search (as it is possible for a general Primo search).
This would be very helpful for e.g. database types (bibliographies, dictonaries, subject gateways, reference works, etc.) or other database indicators like "Open Access", "Full Text database", "Database supports OpenURL", etc.
It should be possible to use these pre-filters in combination with all database search options:
- search for a keyword
- A to Z index search
- Category search
and choosen pre-filters should remain for the session (like the "sticky" facets), if they are not changed by the user.Thank you in advance!

google books
With Primo BO there is the possibility to provide patrons with a link to Google Books. This is very useful to access ancient prints that have been digitized by Google Books.
This functionality is currently not available in Primo VE. It would be very useful if it could be developed by ExLibris.
Thank you.

Add the item barcode to the Location Map Link Template. Item localization systems do not necessarily work with callnumber and location.

"Feedback Tool" for the New Primo UI: possibility to define the e-mail field as a mandatory field
We have been using the feedback tool for a few weeks now and have unfortunately received many requests where the users did not provide an e-mail address.
As a result, we have no way to ask a question or explain the reported behaviour (as it is correct). Therefore, we would be glad if the e-mail field can be defined as a mandatory field in the Primo back office.
A user can of course still enter a fake e-mail address, but then this is a deliberate action.Thank you in advance!

Give Us Feedback: control on which page the icon is displayed
We would like to control on which page the new "Give Us Feedback" tool icon (May 2022 release) is displayed.
We are using this tool only for reporting broken links. We need the icon only on the Full View of the search results, but currently, it must be displayed on all pages.
Actually, most of the feedbacks from our users have been sent by accidentally clicking the icon on the Brief View of the search results, Primo VE home page, etc.
So, it would be helpful if we could control on which page the icon is displayed.

Fill the gap of Open Access CDI records not marked with the Open Access icon and facet
The Open Access icon and facet were added to Primo in May 2018, per previous submission: https://ideas.exlibrisgroup.com/forums/308176-primo/suggestions/19130257-open-access-flag-for-open-access-content
This is applied at metadata level by provider feed first for PCI and now CDI.
This current decision is the root cause for a significant gap in the number of OA records incorrectly not marked as OA.
For example, tens of thousands of PloS One articles not marked as OA.In September 2022 a change is made in terms of the link proxy being removed when it is determined at the link level that the access is OA.
But unfortunately this change is not married with the OA icon and facet, and these will not be added to the record when this link level OA determination is made. This means that our patrons still miss out on the immediately clear indication in brief results by the icon that a resource is OA and they also have no ability to filter to this content.
For many libraries, there are strategic institutional level goals to support and promote OA content, and this gap means that our discovery layers do not support us to align with these goals.A successful delivery of this idea would be that the OA icon and facet are also added to records when there is a link level determination of OA status, as well as metadata level. This idea applies regardless of Primo deployment model ie Primo managed via Back Office and Primo VE managed via Alma.

Searching an item corresponding to a specific record is not possible if not logged in to the IZ that owns this item
If you are logged in an IZ A and you are searching a specific item belonging to a specific record, you will find it only if this IZ A owns this item. If you are logged in IZ B that does not own any item of this title, the holdings are merged into one or several records (deduped) and you cannot distinguish which item belongs to which record.
Example:
IZ A has 6 records of one title; each record has one item.
In the IZ A, searching this title, you will find 6 records, each one with its item
IZ B has no item of this title (no holdings).
In the IZ B, searching this title, you will find 1 record with the 6 holdings merged.
What we would like to achieve is that the search returns the same display of results, with all holdings visible in all IZs, regardless of which IZ owns the item.If you are logged in an IZ A and you are searching a specific item belonging to a specific record, you will find it only if this IZ A owns this item. Make the Resource Recommender Banner fit the length of the resource description
The banner description text is truncated in the first line, making the display of the description dependent on its length and even shorter when viewed on mobile devices. It would be great if the height of the banner would auto-adjust to show all the text.
I attach images showing this (banner.png) and how we would like it to be displayed (banner_modified.png).
Thanks

Send an automated confirmation email after a booking request has been successfully placed
Currently Primo has a nice feature that allows patrons to book items after they log in to their library account. It is called booking request in Alma and Request Item in Primo. We use it to let our patrons book equipment. However, it doesn't send out an automated confirmation email after a booking request has been successfully placed. We request to have this feature (i.e. the system sends out an automated confirmation email to the patron after a booking request has been successfully placed).

Do not display private fields in “display source record” or full record in Primo VE.
Marc 21 coding is used to identify some marc record fields/subfields as private. As an example, the indicators in the 541 tag are used to indicate that data in the field is ‘private’ to the organisation. Primo VE should automatically hide these fields from the source record and full details display in Primo VE. If an organisation wishes for the field to be made public they can adjust the record coding as appropriate. Alternatively organisations should be able to select to suppress private fields (as identified in marc 21) from public display.

"Feedback Tool" for the New Primo UI: insert the e-mail of the logged in user automatically
Currently the field "e-mail" in the Feedback form is defined as optional.
As well as with the current e-mail functionality of bibliographic citations, we would expect the e-mail to be automatically pre-filled when a user is logged in. But unfortunately this does not happen.
Please insert the e-mail of the logged in user automatically or at least give us the possibility to set this option in the Primo backend.
Thank you in advance!

Reverse the order of Available in Library / Available Online on full record display
We are new to Primo so pardon if this idea already exists. My public services colleagues would like to see "Available Online" appear before Physical Availability in the brief record information on the top of the full record display. We can move the View it service section higher in the page but we can't flip these two links.

Inform users when wildcard limit has been reached for local records (when still displaying CDI results)
Based on Salesforce case 06390632.
When using wildcards in a Primo search, there is a limit to how many you can use before the search triggers an error that excludes all local records.
This limit is only for local records. The CDI search does not follow the same limitations and will still gather results even if this limit is reached.
If a users crosses the wildcard threshold when searcing in a scope containing only local records, there will be an error message displayed that explains why no results were found. However, if the same search is done in a blended scope (Local + CDI) then this message is not displayed - the local records are just cut while still displaying the CDI records. Only the most attentive and/or experienced users of Primo will notice that the local records are not displaying, while the majority of users will assume that the results presented are the only hits. This skews the search to only show CDI-results and "hides" the local collection that probably has a lot of relevant documents on the subject.
The preferred outcome of this Idea is to give users the error information even if CDI results are displaying. This would improve their ability to A: understand what is presented to them and B: alter the search to find local records.

Show item availablity on the top level for 'Group Locations by Library in Get It'
In April 2022 we got the "Group Locations by Library in Get It" feature: https://knowledge.exlibrisgroup.com/Primo/Release_Notes/002Primo_VE/2022/010Primo_VE_2022_Release_Notes#Group_Locations_by_Library_in_Get_It-98574
To save users' time when it comes to finding out whether an item is available or not, would it be possible to show the item availability already on the top level, for each library? Color coding wouldn't hurt either, indicating instantly whether a location has the item available or not.
A rough example in the attached files.

Collection Discovery: "new" pagination method instead of endless scrolling
Already some time ago (May 2021 Release) Ex Libris has rolled out the "new" pagination method: users can now specify whether to display 10, 25, or 50 results per page.
This works also in the "Database Search" and the "Journal Search" but not in the "Collection Discovery" section of Primo.
"Collection Discovery" still provides the old endless scrolling method (Button "Load More Results") where you quickly run into brower performance problems if a collection contains my items. Please make the "new" pagination method also availalbe in the "Collection Discovery" area.

Display license information for Open Access and Open Educational Resources
Please add license information for resources and collections that are known to be open access or open educational resources, making it clear what licence applies. This applies both in CZ records and CDI. We would like to make it clear to our users when a title is made available under a particular licence terms.
