Consortia Dashboard for Normalization Rules
It would be helpful for Alma consortia to have a centralized dashboard where Network Zone administrators can view Normalization Rules configured at both NZ and IZ levels.
The dashboard could display:
• Normalization rule name and NZ/IZ ownership
• Corresponding normalization processes
• Import profiles or other workflows using the rule
• Last modified date
• Filters for institution, rule, and process
• Identify conflicting normalization rules or processes
A key use case would be troubleshooting normalization of incoming bibliographic records. When an unknown or unexpected MARC record transformation occurs, it can be challenging to determine whether normalization is happening at the NZ level, IZ level, or both.
A consolidated view would help administrators identify redundant, conflicting, or inconsistent normalization, determine where a transformation is occurring, and effectively coordinate NZ/IZ metadata editing practices.
This would provide valuable cross-institution diagnostic visibility without requiring administrators to examine normalization rules, processes, and import profiles separately in each Alma environment.
