  1. Add a print test page option to printer action menu

It would be great to have a simple way to test Alma printers, rather than having to go through a workflow to print something out. I think a good place for this would be on the action menu for each printer.

  2. Overlap Analysis: Allow comparing unactivated collection to all activated collection

Use case: we consider subscribing to a new database but want to know how it overlaps with ALL of collections we have access.

    Current Problems:

    Set Comparison
    1. The source collection must be activated
    2. Have to select ALL target collections by hand

    Selected Titles:
    1. Kinda works BUT it DOES NOT look at coverage info

tl;dr: please implement something similar to Overlap Analysis in SerSol's ClientCenter.

    Hi All,

Is there an easy way to compare all of our activated e-resource holdings in our Alma Institution Zone against one database we don’t have activated to determine overlap and unique…

This functionality was introduced in the new Overlap Analysis tool that was released in March 2022 Alma Release. In the new Overlap Analysis tool, e.collections from the Community Zone can be selected for comparison.

  3. Ability to track changes made to all fields on Electronic Collection record history tab

Presently, only changes made to some fields in an electronic collection record are tracked on the Electronic Collection Record History tab. For example, if I enter text in the Description field on the Electronic Collection Description tab, the History tab shows a "Modification Date" but does not indicate what field was modified. If I change the Access type field on the General tab, the History tab does not record that any change was made.

The usefulness of the History tab is greatly reduced if not all field changes are tracked. It is more difficult to trust the system or to…

  4. Have the Proxy For setting available for placing Requests.

Currently our incarcerated students have their requests put into a spreadsheet that is sent to the Off Campu team. They then have to process the request (sometimes having to spend time finding the correct item or call number) and then process the request. It would be much more efficient if the Proxy For function could be expanded to include the placing of requests, which would then place the items on the Pick from Shelf list for collection and processing

A new type of proxy user has been introduced as part of Ala December release, that will function as an extension for the sponsor user: Fulfillment proxies will have a proxy account (separate from their personal account, if exists), with which they’ll be able to log into Primo or Primo VE, place hold and resource sharing requests on behalf of their sponsor user, follow up on these requests, be notified when they reach the hold shelf, and check out items on behalf of the sponsor user.

For more information please see Alma December Release Notes:

  5. Allow resource sharing request labels to be deleted

When you're adding a request label to a resource sharing request in the new Alma resource sharing reqeust list interface, you see a list of all the labels you have previously added to requests. Unfortunately, it's not possible to remove labels from this list, so you always see every label you've ever created, including labels with typos and labels that were created by mistake. We would like to be able to remove specific labels from this label list.

  6. Add Collection metadata to the Digital Inventory Subject Area in Analytics

One of the most important fields for reporting on Digital material in Analytics is Collection. However there is currently no Collection field in the Digital Inventory Subject Area in Analytics.

Workarounds for this are extremely time consuming making reporting on digital material a hard task.

We would like to see Collection added to the Digital Inventory Subject Area in Analytics and the Digital Usage Subject Area in Analytics

In the March 2019 release we have added the title level collection (collection name and collection id) to the shared bibliographic details folder. The shared bibliographic details folder is in nearly all subject areas including the Digital Inventory Subject Area in Analytics and the Digital Usage Subject Area in Analytics

  7. Direct link access from a citation to a reading list

    User Story/Case

A streamlined workflow is required to provide direct access to reading lists from a citation. The current workflow is overly complicated and requires to much clicking.

    Description
When digitised files are ready to be be attached to a reading list, staff must first access the relevant citation by navigating to Alma > Fulfilment > Course Reserves > Citations, then find the citation, attach the file and mark the citation as ‘Completed'.

The next step in the workflow is to access the Reading list which requires staff to navigate to Alma > Fulfilment > Course Reserves > Reading List…

  8. API for managing scheduled jobs configured in integration profiles

The enhancement described and completed in the idea http://ideas.exlibrisgroup.com/forums/308173-alma/suggestions/9592206-api-to-interact-with-alma-job-scheduler is fine as far as it goes, but the current functionality does not allow us to interact with jobs launched automatically by Alma on a periodic basis; it only supports jobs launched manually by a user.

Our use case: we have scheduled periodic uploads of SIS student data
configured in a SIS integration profile. We would like to get a formatted list of rejected users, errors, etc. that happened during the automatic load available as a file on our processing server, so that the list can be parsed by a script…

  9. Disable autofill for fields in user details screen

It is apparently possible to mark fields to not allow autofill: https://stackoverflow.com/questions/40200130/how-to-disable-chrome-to-autofill-username-email-password/40200269#40200269

This is what should be done for the fields on the user management screen that cause issues. Specifically the Primary identifier and Pin fields:
    https://www.screencast.com/t/SJ91zBqdIfk

These fields would seldom if ever, need to be filled with the Alma employee users saved info.

The current suggestion of just turning off autofill for the browser is not adequate:

  10. [Alma] - ILL Resource Sharing - allow pickup location other than RS Library for Physical non-returnable requests

Right now Borrowing Request type "Physical non-returnable", which is the one used for document delivery (tipycally a printed copy of an article), allows to choose only the Resource Sharing Library as Pickup Location.

This is a problem, since a user is instead willing to choose the library where the printed copy should be delivered. This is particularly useful when libraries are geographically sparse.

Using a temporary item does not help, since in this case we don't have an item that must be returned (and shipped back to the lender, as it is in the ILL of a book). The user…

New Customer Parameter “Primo_VE_photocopy_other_pickup” handles locking the Pickup location field when selecting Photocopy on ILL Primo VE form. Enabling the Customer Parameter will allow choosing location, while disabling it will preserve the current behavior of locking the file to Resource Sharing Library.

  11. Add library code to Resource Sharing Shipping Slip Letter

With Rapido, our smaller libraries are receiving more courier requests from all over the country, and they don't have all of these library codes memorized. The library codes are not available on the Resource Sharing Shipping Slip Letter, but are used by our courier service provider as an identifier for shipping to correctly route the documents. Currently, the code must be looked up by hand if you do not know it. Therefore, we would like to print the library codes on the Resource Sharing Shipping Slip Letter. However, this field is not included in the letter data (XML/XSL). We ask…

  12. Don't dublicate identifiers in the KBART and the TXT schema

In cases where a record in Alma has only either 022a or 776x Alma puts the only ISSN in both printidentifer and onlineidentifier.

Reading a file that has the same ISSN in both printidentifier and onlineidentifier makes it hard to know if that ISSN is a print identifier or an online identifier.

If a bibliographic record has either 022a or 776x Alma puts the only ISSN in both print_identifer and online_identifier (same for ISBN). This was fixed as part of the November release : e-issn is mapped to online identifier and print issn is mapped to print identifier
    with no duplication.
The customer parameter ‘temp_kbart_identifier_export’ need to be true for this fix to be applicable.

from now on when there is no Eisbn the isbn will not be exported to both columns

  13. Sort Portfolios by title / make portfolios searchable

We would like the ability to sort portfolios by title within an electronic collection display in Alma. Right now, when you click on portfolio list within an electronic collection, there seems to be no discernible order; you also cannot search for titles within a portfolio list. We would like to make it easier to locate a particular portfolio within a collection particularly for selective packages.

  14. Approved Purchase Requests should NOT appear in My Task List

The purpose of the My Task List is to highlight and provide easy access to Tasks which are awaiting processing. Only InReview and new, unprocessed Purchase Requests should appear in the Task List.

Ex Libris Response: "After the request is approved (or rejected), it is moved automatically to the Unassigned tab (thus, populating the Tasks list) for reference purposes. Users with the Selector - Extended role can delete requests (e.g. from the Unassigned tab), this updating the counter in the Tasks list."

We maintain that this is a bug, not an enhancement request -- Ex Libris has not yet completed…

The May 2018 Release includes the feature of having the tasks list (on the main menu bar) show only the purchase requests that require your attention—those in the In Review status. For more details see here: https://knowledge.exlibrisgroup.com/Alma/Product_Documentation/010Alma_Online_Help_(English)/010Getting_Started/050Alma_User_Interface_%E2%80%93_General_Information/The_Alma_User_Interface#Tasks_in_the_Task_List

  15. Add the ability to delete multiple sets from the "my sets" view

In the course of our relegatuion and withdrawal work we create a large number of itemised sets. A while after the work has been carried it is useful to delete these sets (especially as many contain items which are no longer in our stock). Presently the only way to delete sets is on a set-by-set basis. We would like to be able to delete multiple sets in one go. I envisage this functioning much like the "task list" - that is, have a checkbox next to each set. This could then be checked and a "delete set" command applied to…

This requirement is already taken care of in the new Manage Sets structure, which went into effect in August 2023.

The bulk Delete button appears in the toolbar when one or more sets are chosen. See the screenshot that is attached.

  16. Make Electronic Service authentication note available to Alma Analytics

Most of our authentication notes go into the Electronic Service authentication note field in Alma.

  18. Allow copy number mapping in Alma Import Profiles

The physical item inventory mapping configuration in Alma import profiles does not include the option to add a Copy ID. It creates a lot of extra work to, after importing records, open each item record with multiple copies, to edit the Copy ID field. We would like to be able to assign the Copy ID in the import, as we do the other physical item fields.

  19. Add City and NPA from physical address to global Contact Information screen of user

When you consult the Contact Information Tab of a user, you can only see the first line of the physical address, which most of the time is the street address.
We would like to add the column City and NPA to this screen.

This way, for over 90% of our patrons, we can directly see the complete address without having to consult the detail of the address.

This would save us much time, as staff are required to regularly ask the patrons whether their address is still correct.

  20. Enhance conditions in General Electronic Services based on holdings/locations

Currently in a general electronic service we can create conditions based on limited bibliographic metadata via openurl format.
This is a request to enhance conditions in General Electronic Services further to allow conditions based on holdings/locations/items.
We want to be able to display specific retrieval services only for records that have a specific relevant location.
