Alma - Analytics allows to count usage statistics of full text downloads executed from the 2 download buttons visible in Primo.
We have Primo VE, for the moment Alma does not record in Analytics the downloads made from the PDF viewer. Analytics only counts downloads when using the download button outside the Primo viewer (top right).
It is required to have real statistics of downloads of digital objects, from the 2 operational buttons in Primo, i.e. the button located inside the PDF viewer and the one located outside the PDF viewer, since it is not possible to know which of the buttons the user will use.

Integration with worldshare
Have Alma and Worldshare ILL talk with each other enough that they share updates with each other. Right now, the only thing we can do is send a new request to WorldShare. All other functions have to be done in both Alma and WorldShare: receive, return, request for renewal, and cancellation.
3 votesThe missing functionality is dependent on WorldShare development. Alma's NCIP server does enable other broker systems such as ILLiad and Tipasa to communicate actions such as receive , return, renewal and cancellation. That requires the broker system (WorldShare) to implement its end of the integration.

New institutional number sequence, or reset Additional ID, to shorten hold shelf pickup number
In the April 2019 RN the feature "Additional ID for Hold Request Management" became available and it has been very useful for our library, especially since we have an open hold shelf and need anonymized hold shelf slips. By the end of 2022 we noticed that the number sequence wasn't reset when it reached 999-999-999 like we expected it to. Instead new numbers are added and we've been told that it will just continue to add new numbers and never reset. Very long serial numbers are not user-friendly, neither for the staff, nor for the patron.
To prevent long numbers,…

make location type „unavailable“ functional: items in these locations should be shown as unavailable in Alma and Primo
We need the possibility to show items as unavailable in Primo without creating requests (work orders) for them.
Our use cases are
- items which have been restituted (via a provenance research project) and are no longer in the library
- items which are blocked for usage for years
- items which are not usable for certain reasons
All of these have to be shown in the discovery interface, although users won't get them for a long time or at all. Now, all of these items have a "green" availability status in Primo and we struggle to put information about…
174 votesNon available items must be in some process. Using work orders enables setting a description for the work order to indicate why the item is not available.

Fix the multi-page list display bug in Rialto
There is a a bug in the Rialto list display function which I have encountered numerous times: When I go to the second (or later) page of a List in Rialto and take an action on one of the items such as moving it to a cart, the list is refreshed and redisplayed incorrectly. For example, with 30 items in a list, before the second page refreshes, it correctly displays items 21 through 30 in the list with the heading “21 through 30 of 40.” After refreshing, the header says “21 through 40 of 30”! Additionally, the book titles that…
1 voteDear Rialto customer,
The behavior you described in this idea exchange is more of a bug than an actual enhancement. This issue was passed to Rialto's development team for analysis and should be addressed in one of the nearest releases.
In case you would like to receive an update once the matter is fixed, please open a support ticket with Rialto support.
Thanks for bringing this to our attention.

Reset PO and POL number every year
Dear colleagues,
Currently, the POs and POLs numbers are generated automatically and the turn of the calendar year has no effect on it.We would find very convenient that, at the start of each year, the sequence starts again.
The first PO of 2023 of would be PO-2023-1, same with the POLs POL-2023-1.
The numbers would gain in clarity.Thank your for considering this.
Kind regards,
Maxime336 votesDear community,
This story has 2 parts:
- Having the calendar year as a prefix without the need to explicitly define it in the beginning of each year
- Having the sequence to be restarted when a new calendar year begins
After checking the technical implications, we identify that this change is risky and might cause duplications and data mismatch.
Decision is that we will not implement this due to technical risks.
Best regards,

Manage Item Returns: Send one Return Receipt Letter for all returned items per user
Returning items via "Manage Item Returns" generates one Return Receipt Letter per returned item. This means if one user returns several items he will get several e-mails, one for each item. This is annoying for users. The problem arises especially when the drop box for returns is used and the staff scans in lots of unsorted returned items from different users.
Scanned-in returns should be collected in a cache and allocated to the users who loaned them. After pressing "Exit" and closing the scan-in-session one return receipt per user containing all returns belonging to this user should be send.
Thanks…
251 votesThere is no user session in Return Items, which is designed to enable returning items of multiple user. It is therefore technically not possible to aggregate notices for a specific user

Add labels to Digitization request form
The following three labels are on ”Digitize Other Issue” request form, but not on the “Digitization” request form.
・almaDigitizationOther.manualDescription
・almaDigitization.volume
・almaDigitization.issueWe also want the three labels to appear on the “Digitization” request form so that patrons can specify the issue they want to digitize when multiple issues are bound.
3 votesWhere there are issues with volume/issue (and therefore a Description) then the request form is on the item level. The selection of the item is what identifies the exact volume/issue.
The ”Digitize Other Issue” option is intended to enable requesting a volume that is not catalogued and therefore cannot be selected for requesting. This is why it has explicit volume/issue fields.

Alma - direct / static link to rs resource sharing form
We simply need a link to the rs form we can send via email or put in a web page. This link link should automatically ask for authentication.
Right now this is possibile only using PDS authentication[1]. Which is however about to be discontinued by the end of the year. We switched to SAML and Alma based integration profiles in Primo, so we can have only the link to RS form as menu link in Primo, but we have no way to have a have a static / direct link.6 votesThe form is usable also in Primo VE, where it does not rely on PDS as a means of authentication.

Add slider in the conditional format tab under column properties in Analytics
Use case (from customer):
I am using several conditions (in Column Properties > Conditional Format) to change the background color of selected cells in one of the columns. Conditions are based on the date when a reading list was sent for library review. Colors help us prioritize, and help with the workflow in general, but they must be changed manually every year (only the year is changed - day and month stay the same). As you can see in the attached screenshot, I am running out of space in the conditions window. There is no slider in the window, so…
1 voteThe presence (or to be more exact the “non-presence”) of a scroll bar in the window which appears after doing “Column Properties > Conditional Format” is dependent on Oracle and not Ex Libris. This is part of the native interface of “Oracle Analytics” and it cannot be changed by anyone except Oracle.

Metadata Editor: Stop snapping window away from cursor
On records that have large 5xx fields, when I am adding 6xxs the window snaps away so that I cannot see what I am editing.

Idea Exchange Login
Get rid of what has been called the "magic link" login for the Idea Exchange. We'd like to go back to just a username and password. ("Magic link" is what it's been called on ALMA-L. It's where instead of asking for a username and password, you have to enter your password and wait for an email.)
31 votesThe platform used for Idea Exchange is called User Voice. User Voice has changed the authentication mechanism appx 2 month ago, to gain more security.
This is not configurable to admins and apply to all type of users by UserVoice.https://help.uservoice.com/hc/en-us/articles/360058706693-UserVoice-Authentication-Updates-

Bring back the "back" button on the metadata editor screen
In the new metadata editor there is no back button anymore! Please bring it back. I often go from editing a new item into the holdings record to add a call number and then need to go directly back into the item creation page. With no back button from the MDE it takes three times as long.

Time zones -- should be able to have different time zones for individual libraries
There is currently no way to have different time zones in the same institution because the time zone is institutional wide.
As we have several institutional libraries in different time zones, it would be most useful to be able to set the time zone of individual libraries.
This would be particularly useful for patrons located in a time zone other than that of the main library, as notifications would include the local time zone, not that of the main library.
Thank you.
1 voteAlma has been developed over the years to manage the activities of different types of organizations involving different topologies and setups. This spans single institutions with a small number of libraries in close geographical proximity to consortia comprised of a large number of independent institutions, which can be spread out geographically. In certain cases, single institutions may have campuses or libraries that are located in a different state (in the case of North America) or even a different country, which often means a different time zone.
To be able to address the wide variance in topologies while not creating complexities in setup and library operations, Alma’s architecture is based around a time zone definition that is set at the institution level. We understand the complexities of working across multiple time zones within a single organization and have over time evaluated the option as part of Alma’s design and development together…

Include the full physical item's History - Item Changes in analytics
Analytics captures a Physical Item's Modified By and Modification Date, however this only tracks the most recent change to an item, and it does not describe the change made.
I'm hoping Analytics can be expanded to include all of the detail that can be found on the item's History - Item Changes report within Alma, including:
*Date
*Operator
*Field Name
*Old Value
*New Value145 votesWe are closing this request as this is data that can be found in Alma and is very large which would demand high effort which can be utilized for more useful developments.

Give us back the old menus from last month!
That was a very abrupt break. I am not an advanced Alma user by any standard, and this change has me somewhat floundering! We have a small staff consisting of 2.5 FTEs and two student work studies and this was not well-received. It would have been one thing to make the original menu bar hidden and easily retrieved, but to remove it altogether was a bad move. And I'm coming from the perspective of over 3 decades in software development and system administration/help desk.

Specific feedback on elements that can be improved is most welcome. If a bug is detected please open a case according to the regular support process. We will keep adjusting the menu behavior according to customers’ needs.

Add ability to prevent CDI content from appearing in Primo, by Alma Electronic Collection
With CDI we have no control over preventing CDI content from appearing in our Primo filtered search, when we have full text holdings which matches to this content.
In many cases this may be a good thing, in not needing to worry over making sure full text content is searchable.
However, it is clear that there are collections in CDI with very poor data, which causes linking to fail, and also has content which we do not want at all such as Journals and Books, as we manage the title level by our Alma records.
For example, CRL Catalog has…522 votesThe local selection of individual data sources is not possible with the merged record and the single activation flow. We cannot change this in the foreseeable future. Content (including specific collection) related issues should be reported via the support channel.
