Allow fields available in the CTO to be used in General Electronic Services (GES)
Fields found in the CTO should be available to use in url templates and service availability rules within General Electronic Services (GES).
We use some GES's to link out to our resource sharing system that uses OpenUrl parameters in the url template. We've discovered that many books only have editors and don't include that information in the general author attributes within the CTO. Instead, the editor gets added to rft.sau in the CTO and it is the only field in the record that contains editor information. If you add this field to the url template in the GES and you get an error (error message = "The URL Template you entered contains invalid parameters: rft.sau").
I submitted a support case through Alma, which got transferred to the Primo team, and was closed with a comment about Alma not being designed to do this and to submit an idea exchange.
Here are some examples where any author related information is only available in the rft.sau field.
Finally, because these are not local records, there is no workaround to add the editor field to other fields and get used within other existing and working openurl fields.

book reviews- link to book
Book reviews can be useful, but frustrating for the patron. I would like to see the actual book info linked from the review, so the patron can request a purchase or ILL easily.

"Do not show as Full Text available in CDI even if active in Alma" for article records
We were informed by Ex Libris that the "Do not show as Full Text available in CDI even if active in Alma" CDI field does not work on articles. As this feature can already impact the discoverability of CDI records in Primo, it would be great if it could be formally developed so it behaves more predictably and less unexpectedly. When selecting "Yes" for "do not show as full text available in CDI even if active in Alma", we are still seeing CDI article records appear in Primo.

Add a top-level "Discipline" facet based on the complete HILCC Hierarchy
I see that a "Journals by Category" feature was recently added, but it only appears on the journal search screen, and appears to omit much of the HILCC - for example, there is no category for "Performing Arts", much less for specific performing arts like "Dance" which we're used to seeing in Summon.

Inform patrons about Pick from Shelf
This is something we are really missing since we switched to Primo VE.
I find a book I want to borrow, my library has it, but it's open stacks, which means I can't request it online to be picked up in the owning library.
In our older catalog we had a pop up message to inform the patrons that they can fetch the item from the shelf themselves.
DTU (https://findit.dtu.dk) solves it like this, which is exactly what we need - see screenshot dtu1.png
Under B, we'd show the possible pickup locations, as we do now.
A is missing in Primo VE.
How it looks before I click on Borrow: see dtu2.png
You don't have to be a member of DTU to open a patron account.

Add "read more" button to allow for collapsing of long collection descriptions in collection discovery
Many of our contributors use the collection description field to provide detailed information about the materials within, some are over 5-6,000 characters. Descriptions this long force the banner image to become stretched and visibly unappealing; it also pushes the records down to where the user needs to scroll to see them. It would be great if there were a collapsable carrot or "..." or "Read More" button at the end of some predetermind amount of characters to shorten descriptions by default, but also allow users to read the entire piece of text if so desired.

Ability to create URL redirects for deleted collections
Alma offers institutions the ability to create collections to facilitate discovery and access to groups of related resources. In addition to being displayed on the Collections Lobby page, collections can be made accessible via direct links on websites, research guides, or course syllabi. However, when a collection is deleted, any links or bookmarks to that collection are broken. To avoid this, customers should have the ability to configure redirects for collection page URLs that can be used to route visitors to another page.

Display View It sort order by portfolio with highest number of access first
There doesn't seem to be a way to make the display of portfolios in the View It sort by portfolio with the most number of access first.
We have some titles that have multiple portfolios - some have 3 user access, unlimited, and single access. It would be easier for end-users to view/click on the portfolio with the most number of access first - this would reduce user frustrations with being turned away.

Add Reserves "Reading List" to facets navigation panel.
This would allow a clean up project for a multiple location library system. It would bring reserves more closely aligned with standard cataloging by basically using the Course as a high level catalog record (think bib level), Reading List as middle tier (holdings level shelving location). By combining the Course to one entry with the reading lists showing shelving, it would take our records from five courses and five reading lists per class offering to one course with five reading list. This would help clean up database space and form more consistency across locations.

Remove the total number of results
It would be useful if the total number of results are hidden by default from the search results page, but patrons have the option in their user account settings to enable the total number of results.

PrimoVE should allow disabling of Aggregator Content Data
Improving OpenAIRE Links in PrimoVE: A Customization Proposal
Many of the OpenAIRE links in our system are currently unreliable. To address this issue, we propose the following enhancements:
1) Aggregator Content Data Class: We recommend introducing an aggregator class specifically
for Aggregator Content Data in the code. This class would allow us to apply custom styling
and control the display of OpenAIRE links.2) CSS Customization: If we had a dedicated <span class="OpenAIRE">, we could easily add CSS
rules to hide OpenAIRE links. Currently, we lack this flexibility, and our users are
inundated with potentially unreliable links. Other Contenre Data could also be hidden wtih <span class="Datacite"> and <span class="Crossref">3) Customization for Libraries: By implementing individual CSS classes for each Aggregator
Content, libraries could tailor their custom1.css file to selectively hide specific
classes they deem unnecessary in PrimoVE.4) Simplicity of CSS Tags: Adding a CSS tag is a straightforward process compared to modifying
the complex Display Configuration Full Record Services. It provides a more accessible way to
manage link visibility. For more details, refer to the knowledge article on Primo: Fixes to Aggregator Content Data.

Hello,
We have made some adjustments for the OpenAIRE records on the content side, you can read more in this Knowledge Article:
The other options you have mentioned may be addressed in the Primo Product side - I have moved this idea to the Primo Idea Exchange for the Product team to review.
Kind regards,

Ability to copy and paste the results from a browse search
As a librarian, I would like to be able to copy and paste the results from a browse search into Wordpad or Word so that I could then use those results to create a list of hyperlinked subject headings for a library guide. It appears as though this inability to copy and paste applies to all of the “Browse” options (see attached).

ability to reintegrate Newspaper indexes into main search
deactivating "Newspaper search" results in a loss of content. Activating Newspaper search defeats the purpose of a discovery layer for some institutions. Also the the results in Newspaper Search still fails many times for known item searches and does not function the same as the main search.

Enable Quicklinks on a Provider-by-Provider Basis
We would like to be able to enable QuickLinks links on a per-provider basis.
We would like more control over which providers QuickLinks operates again, both for testing and link accuracy reasons.
When we find a provider for which QuickLinks do not work well, we have no workaround other than disabling QuickLinks completely. This negatively affects our users, because QuickLinks may be working well for resources from other Providers.
We would also like be to be able to test QuickLinks with new providers, prior to having QuickLinks attempt to link to the new provider's resources.
