  1. Quotation marks: align the behavior of Alma and CDI records

When using quotation marks in a search, Alma and CDI records behave differently:

    CDI records:
« » → not considered for the search
„ “ → considered for the search only for some languages
“ ” → considered for the search only for some languages
    " " → considered for the search

    For local records:
« » → not considered for the search
„ “ → not considered for the search
“ ” → not considered for the search
    " " → considered for the search

With this idea exchange we propose to align the behavior of Alma and CDI…

  2. Add clickable logo option next to search bar

Some libraries like UCLA have edited their customization packages with custom javascript, CSS, and HTML to add a logo with an embedded link that will take the user back to the main Primo page. This is a useful feature, especially if the default upper left logo is pointed at a library's main web page instead of to Primo, but implementing similar code in other institutions' customization packages can be challenging--especially if it interferes with existing code for other functions. Having a second default logo with link option in this Primo location would be helpful for libraries that want this configuration…

  3. PCI Collection List in a .csv or similiar format

It would be great to have the PCI Collection List in .csv or similar format. It's time consuming to convert it to a format that is usable. It would be great to be able to easily deduplicate with the PCI Activations export and compare from version to version so we can easily see what collections have been added to the PCI without having to spend hours eyeballing or converting the document.

  4. Allow upload of SVG image files via File Uploader

We have had some design work done for us and were supplied with a number of SVG format image files. The current Primo File Uploader does not support SVG format image files, but it should.

  5. Add RIS export to AngularJS Primo UI

Reference management options in the new Primo UI seem limited to RefWorks, EndNote, and EasyBib. I'd like an "Export RIS" option to support users of Zotero and Mendeley.

  6. Provide institutions with the ability to systematically boost the ranking of PCI collections with link-resolver delivery over PCI collection

Many times, there are multiple versions of an article offered in Primo. Some versions are delivered via the link resolver, while others are delivered via direct linking. Delivery via the link resolver is the norm and often provides better accessibility. However, there is currently no effective way for an institution to give systematic preference to the type of collection they want their patrons to see first. We request the ability to systematically boost the ranking of PCI link-resolver collections over PCI direct-linking collections.

  7. Copyright agreement note

Copyright agreement note for ADAM objects displayed in Primo new UI as the old Aleph OPAC page. It does not match the new UI look & feel.
Ex Libris explained that it's impossible to expand copyright agreement notes inside a frame like it was in traditional (old) UI. It happens since new UI supported full SSL protocol and HTML file in Aleph couldn't support this protocol.

My suggestion to change the relevant Aleph HTML file design and font is impossible because there are css differences between Primo new UI and Aleph.

The main idea of this enhancement is to develop…

  9. Actions - email record function - Please give indication an email has been sent

When emailing a record (via Actions - email ) it would be great if there was some indication that an email was sent. We often get several emailed records from clients regarding the same item – and one has mentioned it would be great to know it’s been successfully sent. Currently the pop box for entering email details just disappears once submitted.

  10. Make Publisher an Indexable Field that Can be Searched or Scoped in Primo

Many of our users like to search by publisher to find new materials or a particular edition--it would be helpful if that field could at least be picked up by keyword search.

  11. add autocomplete function to search scope dropdown

we have a large number of search scopes which appear in a dropdown in the new ui search box. it's currently possible to type a single letter and jump to the relevant point in the list but it would be a better experience if an autocomplete function could be implemented instead - this would mean that the number of scopes in the dropdown would reduce the more characters are typed. we implemented a customised menu in the classic ui which worked in this way and it was very popular with users...

  12. Automatically open to full display when there is only one result for the search.

When a Primo search finds an exact match (only one record displays in the search results list), it would be useful (and reduce clicks) if the record automatically opened to the full display. If a user knows exactly what they're looking for, the interim (brief) display is unnecessary. A direct link to the full display is currently only possible from a permalink. The permalink contains the publishing id which is not available from Alma APIs, analytics or source record. Search urls using the source record id should automatically open to the full display.

  13. sticky sort order

the classic UI retained any changes made to the user to the sort order of results, such that a change to e.g. sort by date newest would be retained for the duration of their session. the new ui doesn't work in this way but the ability to set a sticky sort order or to be able to set an individual sort order preference on a user by user basis would be excellent.

  14. Searchable field codes

I would like to suggest that Primo develops to support searchable field codes. In several databases it's possible to specify which field you want to search by writing abbreviations of field codes before the search terms in the search box. For example, AU =jonson, TI = digital photography, JN = journal of advanced nursing and so on.

I know that Advanced search can target specific fields, but it would be useful to be able to search with field codes in the primo default search box.

  15. Provide LibGuides Type Functionality in Studio

Expand the new Primo Studio functionality to include an ability to create content like many of us are using through LibGuides. A simple content management system that would allow us to create simple web pages would allow us to replicate things like subject guides directly in Primo. If that content can also be indexed and searchable through the Primo VE search box that would be even better! This would avoid the need for seperate systems like LibGuides.

  16. "see" references also for the browsing by title

    Hello,
our (public) case #00518038 has confirmed that the "see" references to not-preferred forms in a browse search are implemented only for Authors and subjects.
We ask the implementation also for the titles
    Thanks,
    Fabiano

  17. Adding Accession Number for EBSCO results to the PCI

Would be useful to add the EBSCO Accession Numbers to PCI records and sending these Accession Numbers in the OpenURL from Primo to Alma, so that Alma could use them to build direct links to EBSCOhost for problematic linking issues.

  18. Enhance Primo Analytics Facet Usage by expanding Facet Values

Primo Analytics currently only provides data on Facet Values for two Facet Types: Top Level and Resource Type, with data such as Available in Library, Available Online, Articles, Books, etc.
This granular level of data on user behavior is very valuable and influences our decision making for both our services and system configuration.
It would be wonderful to have this extended also to other Facet Types, including Creation Date, Collection, Author, Topic, New Records, and Journal.

  19. Search by abbreviation journal titles

We would like to search by abbreviation journal titles.
For exsample, "The Journal of Chemical Science" ="JACS"="J. AMER. CHEM. SOC.".
In SFX, we can do it, so I hope in Primo, too.

  20. [Primo] - ask for confirmation when running delete pipe

Right now, when clicking on 'Execute', the Pipe starts immediately.
Especially in the case of 'delete' pipe, a popup asking for confirmation could help preventing unwanted deletions from the system.
