When editing a normalization, merge or indication rule there is only an option to preview and save. There should also be a "save as" option
What happens now is user edits his rule, is happy with it, then he must copy it to his mouse, create a new rule, and paste it into the new rule. A "save as" would be much more logical. User would do "save" as he does today to change the existing rule, and "save as" to save his changes to a new rule.

Adding ability for reporting based on 008 holdings field
I would like to see the ability to have reports based on 008 fields specifically method of acquisition (purchase, gift, depository, etc. ), retention coding and lending policy.

This is from the August 2020 Alma release Notes:August 2020 Analytics

Fulfillment: Send duplicate Lost Item Refund notice to the library staff
Program Alma to send a duplicate "lost item refund" notice to the library staff email/printer when a lost item is returned. This would be similiar to how Alma sends a copy of the cash receipt for fines paid to both the user and to the library staff.
When a lost item is returned to my library we need to know which patron returned the item so that we can remove the academic hold in our campus SIS system. Currently Alma only displays a message on the screen that indicates the ret'd item was lost--but messages on the screen are often…

Develop a ‘sticky’ last search feature in the Repository search
We have staff in multiple roles, who use the repository search feature as part of their daily workflow. These staff run many repository searches a day, however, although people within a particular work area routinely use the same search parameters, across different work areas staff use a range of ‘standard’ search parameters.
We like to request that ExLibris to develop a ‘sticky’ last search feature in the Repository search. This would mean that Alma would ‘remember’ the way the Repository search was last configured, based on the user login. Our idea is that Alma would ‘remember’ a user’s most frequent…

Add NZ search to external search profile
Make it possible to easily (like with a single click) move from searching the repository to conducting the same search externally. Or even better make it possible to set up an external search profile that would search the Network Zone first then automatically search WorldCat by clicking on the other tab. The ability to easily search multiple locations without changing screens and repeating a search would streamline workflows and help discourage duplicate bibs in the network zone.
3 votesWhen using the Resource Management Search Resources option (previously Search External Resources), you can now include your Institution Zone and Network Zone (where applicable) in the search options. This is in addition to the Community Zone and external resources that you have configured for your system.

Date parameters for user blocks and / or notes
When manually adding a block (or a note) to a user's account it would be useful to add date parameters that the block/note is active, e.g. if a user is on Leave of Absence and therefore unable to borrow to be able to state that the block starts at XX and ends on XX would reduce staff time have to manually remove that block.
This would also tie in with the planned proposal for pop up blocks/notes (on Ideas EXchange)3 votes -
Arrange Advanced Search-Add Conditions list in alphabetical order. for Title - Holding - Physical Item
When using the Repository Search - Advanced Search- Add Conditions either in All Titles Search or Physical Title Search.. It would be much easier to find and select what conditions you need to select if the options were in alphabetical order.
3 votesAs part of Alma new UX the Advanced Search has been completely redesigned.
With the new UX choosing the attribute to search by is much easier – using type ahead, presenting recent attributes that were previously used and also the attributes will be sorted alphabetically per this idea. -
Add an action's menu button for the damaged books
We would like to add a possibility on the action's menu.
"Lost" is not enough because we have to write an explaination when the books are damaged and it is really not easy with the "lost" possibility.
So currently we use "claimed return" but it does not block the fines.
It will be much easier for us with a new button "damaged books".
And we have to differentiate all those conditions for the billings.
Thanks !

Suggestion to avoid spam filtering changing EnvelopeFrom in Configuring Outgoing Email
Actually an Institution cannot catch bounced emails because the EnvelopeFrom header field in Alma's emails is set to an address that has the domain @exlibrisgroup.com and it is not accessible. Changing the EnvelopeFrom to an email address in the institution domain may result in spam filtering and blocking. But if you could provide one email address account accessible in the domain @exlibrisgroup.com per Institution it could be use ad EnvelopeFrom address: the email (an example for my institution: 39UPI-email_admin@exlibrisgroup.com) should be readable by the related institution staff and user as EnvelopeFrom address (and/or for other purpose, such as Alma's…

cz updates -improved search functionality
Improve search functionality in the CZ Updates Task List so that more advanced searching can be done. With the Dismiss All functionality, one can only dismiss everything in the task list, but with advanced search functionality one could limit to irrelevant tasks (i.e. book coverage updates) and only dismiss those tasks.
3 votesThe Community Zone was enhanced to enable faster and more efficient access to the data included in it. This includes new access points, information fields, actions, report types as well as more filters and sorting abilities.

Add Digital Representation ID as a search option in the Digital Resource Editor
From the Digital Resource Editor currently you can only search via the label. Addition of option to search for on the Digital Rep ID should also be supported this would make it much easier to find a specific digital rep record when you have large nos associated to one Bib Record.
See attached screenshot3 votesThis feature is included in November release.

Provide clear indication on failed "Primo Login Using Email"
"Primo Login Using Email" is a recently added feature in Alma to manage users that weren't in any external IdP. Alma would not need to manage password for those users and send them a one-time link to login to Primo. However, I discover that there are problems with the implementation of Email Login. When patron account has blocks that wouldn't allow them to log in, e.g. expired, Alma just simply not generate any email. It won't even give patron any error message like "login failed". It leaves patrons wondering why they did not receive any email. Ex Libris should add…

Generate Transit Slip when it goes to work order department assigned to Circulation Desk instead of simply saying "Manage Locally."
Currently when an item is received for a work order department assigned to a circulation desk the staff member gets a message that says "manage locally." However, there could be multiple work order departments assigned to a circ desk and so a transit slip should print showing the staff member where that item needs to go to. Even though it might be managed at that circ desk, the staff member still needs to know who to give that item to so a transit slip should print showing which work order department that the item needs to go to.
3 votesAs of the March release, when returning an item on the Return Items page, if the next step is a locally managed work order, the next step now displays both the next step and the work order type—for example ‘Manage Locally – Preservation. See Scanning Items.’

Enable an ability to update electronic collection proxy link settings in a batch mode.
We are in the process of migrating from EZProxy to OpenAthens. We have over 500 electronic collections. Currently in our migration plan we will have to change the proxy setting one by one. It would be helpful to have a way to update the electronic collection proxy setting using some type of batch or programmatic (i.e. API) process.
3 votesHello Community,
Thanks for raising this idea.
This Idea exchange was developed and is available in Alma.
You can read about it in the Release notes:

Run a job -> Information Update -> 'Change Electronic Collection information' job -> Select a set of collection/s -> open the section named 'Change Set Service linking information' -> Proxy enabled (Yes/No) (see attached Electronic Service Proxy.png)
For updating the Electronic Collection Proxy Enables (Yes/No) and the Selected Proxy you can now use the following flow:

The LDR of the bib and holdings record needs to be indexed for reporting in Analytics at the very least as a Local Param.
We have a large withdrawal project involving thousands of books. We do not want to delete them in Alma. We want to change the location in the holdings record to Withdrawn, suppress the bib and holdings record, and change the LDR Record Status (5th position) to "d." This is a MARC standard and must be done in order to export these records later to various entities (such as the statewide library database used for ILL) so they can delete them from their copy of our database. The LDR value is what they use to indicate a bib or holding record…

Attach copy in Borrowing Request
We would like to be able to attach a PDF article that has been supplied by another library, into a borrowing request in Alma RS to send to our client rather than using our email, similar to the way you can with Lending Requests.
Currently we have to email all PDFs outside of Alma RS.
