    Alma Digital (soon to become Alma Specto) provides multiple methods for managing book covers or other digital material which are complementary to the print.

    1. Auxiliary representations. These won’t be indexed in Primo as online services, since they don’t represent the complete content of the record. Using the display logic rules, users can define whether they will be displayed via the quick access service or online section in Primo/
    2. Other representation types – You can deactivate the representation, in which case it won’t be indexed or appear in Primo, however a thumbnail will be generated using the file.

    Please develop this - we are starting to work with Collection Discovery and OER resources, and would like to add book covers where they aren't found by Syndetics.

    Definitely support this idea. Anything that allows us to remove redundant data gets a big tick from me.

    This would certainly be a huge timesaver - and would also make it more viable for us to delegate rollover tasks to colleagues in other library roles rather than having to stick with administrators doing it.
