Hi. 1. Are you stating that you want a new “Resource Type”?
2. The definitions of the resource types are explained in the table titled “Rules Used to Create the Resource Type Field – MARC 21/KORMARC and UNIMARC” at https://knowledge.exlibrisgroup.com/Alma/Product_Documentation/010Alma_Online_Help_(English)/010Getting_Started/050Alma_User_Interface_%E2%80%93_General_Information/Searching_in_Alma#The_Resource_Type_Field
3. Do you want a new row in this table which would be as follows?
Archival materials. LDR pos. 8 = a
4. The table is read top to bottom and as soon as match is found it stops. Where in the table would you like this new row to appear?
5. How come the title of this suggestion states “LDR pos. 8 = a” but the comment from Feb. 2 also has “LDR pos. 6 = p”? We do not think “LDR pos. 6 = p” is a good idea. That is used for “mixed materials”. On the other hand “LDR pos. 8…Mally Cohen, Hebrew University of Jerusalem supported this idea ·

Thank you for this idea.
We are considering adding a tooltip to the "Starts with" search operator, rather than displaying it only for the "Title" field.
The tooltip will explain that this search option is available only for the "Title" field.
We believe that if we won't display this search operator at all for the other fields, the user will not know that this search option is possible, since the default search is usually done on the "Any" field.
Thanks

An error occurred while saving the comment Hi Chainy
thank you for your comment.
we know that we can use the local field and use normalization rules for search and facet. but we have only 10 NR and we have finished all.
This is so basic - (publisher, series and edition), thus we don't think it should be part of the 10 local fields with NR for search. It is either we will have more than 10 (at least 15) or (publisher, series and edition) should be OTB.
I believe this is very important not only for my institute but also for others
thank you very much.

An error occurred while saving the comment You are absolutely right. There should be differentiation between the official names in the letters from Alma to catchy names for the readers

An error occurred while saving the comment It is very important to have the language icon separate and not hidden. Many of users are guests and need to change language interface.

Thank you for this idea. we are considering to add a new key to answer the needs, but first we would like to get examples where a separate key for ISSN and EISSN are needed
