Please add the function to copy references to other projects not "Using the Export References" or "Using a Shared Folder".
Both of these methods require many steps.

I would love to see the automation of capitalizing proper nouns in APA. I believe that the only way to currently achieve this is to edit the citation after export.60 votes
Please negate the need for Refworks to require a new tab and login when I export new references from my Institution's database.
I would like all my exported references to default to the Refworks database I already have open at the time.
Each time I export a new reference into Refworks, I am asked to login again which results in multiple Refworks tabs open.58 votes
Currently additional tabs are opened to avoid overwriting any activity in an existing tab. We are looking into changing the implementation to avoid multiple tabs without overwriting.
One of the most useful tools when reading a document is the ability to search in the text. Please provide us with this essential tool when viewing the uploaded PDF documents.52 votes
We will be updating the RefWorks document reader in the future; we will consider the search option when implementing the new reader.
Could you create a new reference type for standards? There isn't a ready-made option for this. It seems that it isn't possible to rename existing reference types.48 votes
RefWorks currently exports to BibTeX, the legacy bibliography system in TeX, but not to BibLaTeX, the modern and powerful bibliographic management in LaTeX&friends. Updating to BibLaTeX data model shouldn't be a big issue for RefWorks as it has the framework for exporting to BibTeX. Other tools like JabRef, Citavi, Zotero... have already native support for BibLaTeX.45 votes
The ability to export Bibtex files is a key feature of RefWorks. However, the format of the citekey is terrible - too long and difficult for users to recall. Other reference managers allow customization of this field, and RefWorks should, too.44 votes
While the citekey field is currently not customizable, it is now shorter and meaningful. It uses the RefWorks ref ID and a string composed of the the last name of the first author, the publication year, and the first title word (excluding prepositions and the like).
Drag and drop a reference to a folder: It would be nice, if I could choose wether I want to copy it to a folder or if I want to move it from one to another folder.43 votes
We are evaluating this feature and will update once we have more information.
We would like to make accounts delete/inactive by batch after narrowing by "Last active" on the admin page of New RefWorks. This is available on Legacy RefWroks' admin page.42 votes
Add "one line one cite" feature. Gives people ability to insert in-text citations in programs other than Word or Google Docs.
Our campus is using Microsoft Office 365. The "one line one cite" feature that was available in the Legacy version gives the option of being able to insert citations/create bibliographies in other writing software.39 votes
We are planning a One Line Cite equivalent. Once there will be a committed schedule this idea status will be updated.
Although RefWorks supports exporting bibliographies in ODF format, it's missing the integration with LibreOffice. Other reference management tools do provide this, so it would be useful if RefWorks did as well. Thank you!36 votes
The Quick Cite option can be used to copy citations and bibliographies into a document written in LibreOffice.
make refworks compatible with Powerpoint so that works cited can be incorporated into the presentation33 votes
We are looking into adding this feature to the roadmap.
Transfer the search strategy from the database(s) searched to the results folder we shared with library user(s)
It would be very helpful if we could transfer the search strategy from the database(s) searched to the results folder we shared with our library user(s) - our searches tend to be used for publications and search so the search strategy is very important. If PRISMA diagrams could also be added to the folder, this would also be helpful. Thanks.31 votes
It may be useful for users to be able to change the window size of Write-n-Cite III and WNC 4 as they like.25 votes
There is a demand for data-driven article recommendation function for RefWorks.
Some kind of web services have already implemented this kind of function.
One end-user said that it should be based on not only articles in user account but also references cited in those articles. I hope this idea to be considered.24 votes
We can set the language by ourselves when we login to WnC with Legacy RefWorks account, but we cannot when we login to New version's account. Please add menu to set the language even when we login to WnC with New RefWorks accounts! This request is for users who also uses non-English languages in the world, but I think it is needed.24 votes
The default setting for book imports is for electronic books and it is, in my experience, not apparent to users until an inaccurate bibliography is created.
Perhaps you could:
A) Change the default from electronic to print
B) Bring the 'this is an electronic resource' tick-box to the top of the screen when a user imports a book record.24 votes
We are improving the reference view, including always showing fields that are relevant for the selected reference type. This will address issues raised in this idea.
