  1. Confirmation screen when adding citation to Leganto from Primo

    When adding a catalog citation to Leganto from the Primo interface (via the "Send To..." menu) there is a small popup (screenshot attached) that asks the user to choose a list, section, etc. and then click the green "Add to Leganto" button, which is great. Once this button is clicked, the page reloads and the user receives no confirmation, other than to open a new tab, navigate to the relevant list, and verify that the citation appeared in the right place.   2. Ability to email instructor(s) directly from Reading List

    In a patron’s account, you can email the patron directly from the General Information tab. We would like to see similar functionality in the ability to generate an email to an instructor directly from their Reading List.

    When working on a Reading List in Alma, the option to generate an email could be a live link in the Reading List Owner’s name in the Reading List Information box, or in the course information box above the Reading List, or in the Owners tab, or all of the above.

  3. Display whether citation appears on another list

    Previously there was a feature that displayed whether a citation existed on another reading list, with some limited functionality, e.g. only displaying if the other list was also on your My Lists page and the citation was an Alma repository item. This feature was taken away by Product Management in January 2022. We have received feedback from instructors that they would like to know when a citation is in use on any other list at the institution, including those not taught by them and where courses are not currently active (but lists are Published).   4. Enable class discussion for assignments

    Currently it looks like instructors can choose to enable class discussion on a citation OR set up a read and respond assignment. Sometimes they want to combine the functionalities: set up a reading for the class to discuss together, and the instructor then grades students based on their participation.

    Read and Respond assignments should have the option for instrutors to either set up student responses to be private between student and instructors (the default) or to be an open class discussion but with grading still available.

  5. More file type options for Reading List bulk export

    At the moment it's possible to bulk export Reading Lists by running the job called 'Reading List Bulk Update' and selecting 'Export to PDF'.

    Would be beneficial if we can export to other types such as .lgn or .ris. As those files would serve better as 'baclups' and can also be imported back into Leganto

  6. Enhance Browzine integration to add journal covers as citation thumbnails

    The Leganto Browzine integration currently only supports the full text linking functionality. One of the other features of Browzine is the ability to display journal covers. In Leganto we frequently find that journal covers are not available from the out of the box service and the users see a generic thumbnail image instead. This reduces the visual appeal of Leganto.

  7. Task Widget Filtered by Processing Department

    UNSW is a library with multiple processing departments and during peak Leganto processing times clicking through the Task Widget - Reading Lists/Citations to identify the workload for each dept creates an additional step in the process.

    We do have the ability to filter the Reading Lists etc. by Processing Department once we have clicked on the option in the list, for e.g. Unassigned - Ready for Processing, however it would be helpful if those filters could be applied to the main menu Task Widget - Reading Lists/Citations, visible on the ALMA home page, so that only the options requiring our…

  8. Leganto: Have a Reference displayed for the resource in the style required eg APA7th

    There was a comment from an academic saying when their readings were in the Learning Management System they had the correct APA referencing style demonstrated, with the link to the reading – so students could see the correct format. And the academic was disappointed that the Leganto list didn’t demonstrate the referencing in the correct style.   9. Display module name / code / year alongside list title in Copy Section > Copy Into List dropdown menu

    This dropdown menu currently only displays lists by title. This is not useful in cases where the list has a generic title, e.g. 'Reading List', or if the same list has been rolled-over from previous years (there is no way to distinguish which list is for which year).

    It would be very useful if the module name, code and year could be displayed alongside the list title here.

  10. Leganto labels to support HTML tags

    Currently only the text of labels in Leganto can be customised and HTML tags are not supported. This limits the usefulness for customisation, particularly for including hyperlinks in the labels.

    For example, we have just updated the list.notavailable and list.primo.notavailable labels to include a link to a form which students can fill in to request that a list be created for their course, however we have had to add text advising the student to copy and paste the link as we are not able to add a hyperlink using HTML. The usability is therefore not as efficient for students.

  11. Add a Session Timeout URL config in Legnato

    Add an option in Leganto configuration where we can specify a "Session Timeout URL" so it is not just dependent on Alma settings. This variable is available in Primo. Since this is a student facing interface, it would be good to be able to configure this feature.

  12. Make the workflow-note deletable

    At the moment there is no way to get rid of the workflow-note created by Leganto Questions. Neither by hand nor via job.

    Ex Libris told us that this is by design, but to us this creates issues as we can't create "to do" reports in Analytics based on a note we can't delete after the job was done.

    It also does not improve the already cluttered 'Edit Citations' screen.

    Additionally it is possible to delete the corresponding tag (Citation > Edit > Tags > Tag type: Workflow) which contradicts the "by design" statement.

    We are therefore asking Ex Libris…

  13. Analytics improvement regarding Leganto and Esploro

    Set up an Esploro-Leganto integration in Analytics, that makes it possible to get statistics on how many assets from Esploro are cited in reading list (like you can create an list with Leganto citations there also are represented in Alma). E.g. how many citations in a specific reading list are from Esploro?

  14. Automatic purchase request needs to be triggered automatic with a scheduled job

    Currently the Automatic Purchase request process in Alma. Is not Automatic. Staff have to go into a citation and re-save it for the automatic process to be triggered. Or we have to run the Process and Enrich Citations job to trigger the automatic purchase request.
    It would be better if this process was ran as a scheduled job like the active courses process. Rather than staff accidently triggering a purchase request by just re-saving a citation that they are working on.

  15. Enable tags generated by questions to set item status

    Currently the "revert_citation_status_by_adding_tags" options have no effect on citations that are tagged as a result of a question. This is because when the instructor answers the question and clicks "Confirm", first the tags are added, and then the citation is actually created.

    Our use case is that if the instructor selects a certain answer, we want to apply a tag and based on that tag apply an automatic citation status ReadyForProcessing to ensure it appears in the tasklist for library staff.

    (I'm not sure if this comes under the roadmap item "Support websites for Read and Respond assignments and Social Reading" or if it would be additional work.)

    Currently instructors use a third-party tool where they can paste in a YouTube video link and the video is embedded in a page where students can add comments at relevant points.     (I'm not sure if this comes under the roadmap item "Support websites for Read and Respond assignments and Social Reading" or if it would be additional work.)

    We have a lot of subscribed content where (depending on publisher T&Cs) we don't have a license to save a PDF in our reading list for class discussion etc.

    It would be useful if Leganto could embed the content in a frame or similar (letting the student login where necessary, either by single sign on or EZproxy or some other method) so that it's not stored on the system but lecturers can still…

  19. Create a history tab on Course records in Alma

    When looking at a course record in Alma, you can see which students are currently enrolled, along with other information about the course and who the instructors are. However, the course record doesn't have a history tab at all, so there's no record of any changes that may have happened to a course over time.

    Keeping such a history would be valuable - it would help to know if the begin and end dates have been changed, or when instructors were added or removed.

    The changes are in Alma but this functionality would be very helpful for us as Leganto…

  20. Assign citation tasks to others

    Tasks in the reading list tasklist have a "Reassign" option, but this isn't available for tasks in the citation tasklist.

    Some of our tasklists are for specific functionalities, but others might be either a copyright request or a short loan request - these are dealt with by different teams. Our copyright person needs to be able to work through the list and assign a task to herself if it's copyright-related, but also to assign a task to a short-loan person if it's for them.
