  2. Digitisation Approved Alert for Instructors

Feedback from Instructors has been that they would like an alert when a digitisation has been approved/goes live on the list (in our case, from a sync with the DCS). This would both enable instructors to know when the digitisation has gone live, and also enable them to query with the library when they have not received an alert (i.e. that the digitisation hasn't been made, or has been rejected). Alerts would ideally appear as one of the alert option dropdowns in the Leganto interface.

  3. Ability to edit/streamline clipboard Leganto Task List

The current Leganto Task List includes items that are not tasks - they are completed. We'd like to be able to config/edit this display so that only actual tasks ie. 'processing' and 'ready for processing' are displayed.

  4. Enable a forced SSO login for users accessing openly published reading lists Leganto via a CMS.

We publish all of our reading lists to "Anyone Full" which means that anyone with a link can access the list; we have partners or prospective students who may need to view the lists. Access to subscribed resources is restricted to registered users and anyone without a university login cannot access the links to resources, they can only view the citations.

Currently when students login to a reading list through Moodle, they automatically enter the list as a Guest and there is no prompt to login (unless you add a message to the list) which means that users may miss…

  5. New general setting for enabling/disabling multiple lists per course

There's a general Leganto setting for multicourse_lists "Whether to enable multiple courses for reading lists: enabled, disabled."

We would like to add the converse option: enable/disable multi-list courses. By disabling multi-lists per course, only one list could be made for each course via the Leganto interface.

The reason we would like this is to allow instructors to create new lists via Leganto (rather than only by LTI) but not allow them to associate multiple lists per course as this has a negative impact on the embedded LTI view and the way that courses/lists display in the Primo VE full record…

  6. Allow HTML in the new UI label 'copyright_clearance_header' (digitisation request form)

The digitisation request form (CLA) has a description field underneath the main header, called 'copyright _ clearance _ header' in the new UI labels. It would be helpful if HTML could be entered in this field to direct users to more information about digitisation services.

  7. Allow individual course rollover within Alma

At the moment there are two methods for course rollover:

Bulk course rollover via the integration profile and FTP
    Instructor rollover within Leganto

We have not enabled instructor rollover, as we only want library staff to perform rollover tasks. As a result, we rely solely on the bulk rollover method, which becomes laborious when we only need to process individual courses. Being able to rollover individual courses within Alma would offer the option of only allowing Library staff to rollover individual courses.

  8. Allow the Unpaywall link label to be modified (parity with primo ?)

With respect to the options of using Unpaywall integrations/collections in Leganto, we would like more control of the links which appear - specifically the label.

For some citations in Leganto the display of the services in links and availability differs from Alma - e.g.
search for article "Maher, Patrick, A review of 'traditional' Aboriginal health beliefs" add to list.
Direct linking settings and libkey integration mean the brief view shows a "View Online" and "Download PDF" service.

If we hide those for clarity, and following the View online to see all [active] services in links and availability, the unusual "Online…

  9. Leganto “Remove from my list” should not unenroll students from the Alma course (add hide only / disable options)

Don’t unenroll students when they click “Remove from my list” on course‑assigned lists

In Leganto, “Remove from my list” on a course‑assigned list published to “Course Students” unenrolls the student from the Alma course (by design; not configurable).
After that, students no longer see the list; the only way back is to access Leganto via the LMS LTI object, which re‑enrolls them.
This behavior is counter‑intuitive (looks like “hide” but performs enrollment changes) and creates access gaps and support overhead.
Current workaround is just renaming the label, which doesn’t fix the risk.
Request: Add configuration for course‑assigned lists: Hide‑only, or…

  10. Auto publish option for instructor rollover

The new autopublishon_create functionality works when an instructor creates a new list from scratch in Leganto, but when they rollover it doesn't take effect.

This is counter-intuitive for us, since instructor rollover is precisely the situation where the library has previously seen the list so doesn't need to review it again.

Can instructor rollover be included in the scope of the autopublishon_create functionality?

Or even better, instead of a binary true/false setting, it could take a list of different situations so libraries can choose when they want auto-publish to take effect: eg new lists, instructor rollover,…

  11. Bulk job options to remove expired Alma user accounts from courses/reading lists

We'd like to remove expired Alma accounts from being course instructor/list owner. I picture these as parameters in the Reading List Bulk Update and Course Bulk Update jobs.

This is similar to an existing idea (https://ideas.exlibrisgroup.com/forums/395697-leganto/suggestions/46475206-improve-handling-of-expired-user-accounts-for-cour) but that one is specifically about flagging expired accounts during rollover, and we do not roll over courses and lists at Surrey.

  12. Add RefWorks as an export option to the favourites area

Currently there is no option to export items from favourites directly to RefWorks like you can from other citations. Our users would find this useful as we subscribe to RefWorks.

  13. Questions should not be triggered when items are added from reference management systems

We defined questions that are triggered when a citation is added that has no inventory. Now we have the problem that these questions are always triggered when a user adds items from a reference management system (Mendeley, Zotero, …), even if the library actually owns inventory for these items. This happens because the resource locate process is not initiated when adding items from a reference management system.
The best scenario would of course be that the questions in the “add from reference management system” flow are only triggered when an item is added that meets the criteria. As this scenario…

  14. Add a status of 'digitisation archived' for DCS requests

Currently there are two statuses for digitisation request licence status - approved or rejected. Requests that have been temporarily archived show as 'digitisation rejected' which is inaccurate and could be misleading. We would like to request a new status for those requests that exist in the DCS, but have been archived and are not currently available to students.

  15. Add Citation links, PDF download, notes, tags when embedding individual citations in Canvas

When embedding a specific citation within the LMS (Canvas), and we use either a Bibliograhic Style or the Exlibris "Expanded Reading List Style", there should be an ability to display more information about the citation including: Links to the resource, View PDF, Notes (with note type), Tags, so it matches the look & feel when navigating through citations in the Reading List.

This way they don't need to exit the LMS (Canvas) by clicking on "View Item" just to access the links and additional information about the citation.

    Screenshots attached below:
Embedding.png - is an example when embedded from the…

  16. Copy reading list assignee for instructor rollover

In the Course Loader integration, there is an option to "On Rollover Copy Assignee." This same option should also be available for instructor‑initiated list rollover.

When an instructor rolls over a reading list, the existing assignee should automatically be copied to the new list. In addition, an automated email notification should be sent to the assignee to inform them that they have been assigned to the newly rolled‑over list.

For institutions who enable the feature, this would ensure consistent assignee handling regardless of rollover method while reducing the need for staff to track unassigned reading lists in the Alma task…

  17. Automatic purchase request needs to be triggered automatic with a scheduled job

Currently the Automatic Purchase request process in Alma. Is not Automatic. Staff have to go into a citation and re-save it for the automatic process to be triggered. Or we have to run the Process and Enrich Citations job to trigger the automatic purchase request.
It would be better if this process was ran as a scheduled job like the active courses process. Rather than staff accidently triggering a purchase request by just re-saving a citation that they are working on.
It would be also good that automatic purchase requests do not have to be assigned a staff member to…

  18. Enable subscribed content for class discussion and assignments

(I'm not sure if this comes under the roadmap item "Support websites for Read and Respond assignments and Social Reading" or if it would be additional work.)

We have a lot of subscribed content where (depending on publisher T&Cs) we don't have a license to save a PDF in our reading list for class discussion etc.

It would be useful if Leganto could embed the content in a frame or similar (letting the student login where necessary, either by single sign on or EZproxy or some other method) so that it's not stored on the system but lecturers can still…

  19. Allow "Watch" icon to be Hidden

Please allow the "Watch" icon to be hidden at the citation level to avoid confusion for users when embedded playback is not possible. This would help maintain a smoother user experience in such cases.

We encountered an issue in Leganto involving a YouTube video used as a citation in one of the sections.
The video displays the following message when accessed from the section view:
"Video unavailable. Playback on other websites has been disabled by the video owner. Watch on YouTube."

  20. Colour-coding on tags (especially Importance tags)

I think this is an idea floated before, but it's come up again as feedback and I would like Ideas Exchange to revisit :)

Tags are not very visually different from the general colourscheme on Leganto; this makes them harder to pick out from the rest of the citation. Additionally, we use student tags for Importance (Essential/Recommended/Further) as part of our commitment to flexible and inclusive teaching. It would be really useful if we could pick colours for these tags a) to help students spot them more easily on the citations, and b) so we could colour-code for importance levels,…
