The rollover functionality is great and is used to reduce the workload for the staff.

We have encountered one issue. What we have seen is that the work on the establishing of the courses themselves in the course management system (external system) often takes a long time and there are changes throughout the year. That means that at the point where the library would like to perform the rollover there will only be a portion of the courses that are ready in the course system. This means that there are a need to perform a 2nd rollover at a later time (or even a 3rd or 4th load). If they wait with the rollover until all of the courses are ready the do not have enough time to perform the quality control of the lists before the term starts.

In the extract from the course management system we can not select only courses that has not been part of a previous load (normal or rollover). That means that all of the courses are added to the import-file. This is not a problem, and sometimes an advantage, for the "normal" load as the exisiting courses are updated and the new ones added. With rollover there is a problem; if the course has been rolled over earlier the list will be rolled over again and create a duplicate list.

What we would like to do is to be able to do multiple rollovers for a complete list of courses without duplicating the same list each time. Example: If you do a rollover and then immidiately after runs the same file again (with rollover) the result of the second run would be the same as if the operation was "Normal".

Setting a flag on the course/list that it has been rolled over and then set a tickbox in the integration profile that says do not rollover if the course has previous been rolled over should not be difficult and would solve the problem.

We like the concept of the book extract citation type, but would like it to operate more like a book chapter type rather than an article.

We would like to give them titles like "Questions from Chapter 14", or use section headings that may be on the page of the book. If there was nothing obvious to use in the book, then we could make up a description of the extract [Extract from ch. 4].

For students this would give them a clearer idea of what they are supposed to read rather than just seeing the whole book title.

For library team working in Alma it would help them differentiate and give them a title to use in the representation label to assist managing digital fulfillment

Ideal Scenario:
We currently have a citation processing rule set to automatically trigger a purchase request, if a book has a particular tag, and there are no E versions of the P available in repository. If there is an E copy available then the purchase request should not be triggered. If no E version is available, but the citation meets all other parameters in that particular citation processing rule, then a purchase request should automatically be triggered

Issue:
The problem at the moment is that, Leganto is not relating our E version to our P, and so is still triggering a purchase requests even though an E version is available. This is due to our institution cataloguing E and P as 2 separate Marc records, and many of these do not have a linking ISBN in the 020 field. This would be similar to a lot of other institutions who don't merge the marc records together, as keeping them separate is considered to many as cataloguing best practice.

Solution:
To display real time availability for citations, Leganto does however use merge rules for records in Alma (and their related records) and records in Primo, including dedup'd records (see attached image). This therefore displays P and E versions of the same title together. Can we request for this same 'Merging repository availability' rule to be used as the basis for citation processing rules. It proves to be more successful in linking P and E versions of the same title together.

We have an open search page for Leganto and make our lists open as well. Because of this people will often find lists in different ways i.e. not just following the link from the VLE.

If you find a list that is open and then log in, or if you are on the open search page and log in, you are always taken to the "My lists" screen.

I propose that when you log in you are returned to the page you started on i.e. if you are on a list page and log in you are returned to the list.

It would be helpful if there was more access to the citation menu options when viewing the citation in Leganto. Users should be able to Copy to my collection, Send to Library, Mark as Read, get LTI Direct Access, get a permalink and Set Complete.

Where this is a real problem however is for instructors who are using the Unlink LTI option on a citation from the LMS. To unlink, they follow the link to the citation, then have to know to go to the section to find the citation and its menu.

Ideally both unlink and relink should be visible from the citation view.

Many websites, such as Facebook, Youtube and Gmail are no longer supporting old versions of Internet Explorer. Older versions of Internet Explorer(IE) have security problems which will never be fixed and using it will leave you vulnerable to all sorts of problems on the internet.

Suggestion: Users receive a message saying that their browser does not meet the minimum requirements for accessing Leganto upon trying to log in with an unsupported browser. They may still be able to log in, but will not be able to view/use Leganto effectively. This has been done for other systems, see for example the attached picture for the message IE-users of Canvas LMS receive.

As of now, Microsoft only supports the following desktop operating systems with Internet Explorer browsers:
Windows 10 -> Internet Explorer 11
Windows 8.1 Update -> Internet Explorer 11
Windows 7 SP1 -> Internet Explorer 11

So this could be used as criteria for which users receive the message. And to avoid making reading lists inaccessible for non-logged in users I suggest that Ex Libris only shows the message for users attempting to log in.

Once Ex Libris finally deprecates support for Internet Explorer completely, all users trying to log in to Leganto with Internet Explorer should receive this message.

Currently the 'Reports' link (attached) in Leganto just links to an 'out the box' analytics dashboard displaying a range of usage information.

It would be useful to be able to define a path to our own Analytics dashboard in an Alma code table, e.g. in Fulfilment > Leganto > Customer Settings.

Our analytics report would be set to receive filters/parameters from Leganto, i.e. reading list codes.

Academic engagement forms a significant part of the work we do with reading lists, so being able to be flexible and responsive to their needs/wishes in terms of usage of their lists would definitely be a benefit for us.

The general message feature in the December 2020 release is a useful way to display messages to all Leganto users (such as scheduled downtime or important library messages).

The functionality could be enhanced to allow general messages to be configured to only be viewed by instructors or students (or both if required). This would be useful in a number of scenarios and allow more targeted messages to be prominently displayed to relevant users at the point of need.

For example:
- reminders to academic staff to check their lists prior to rollover
- reminder to academic staff to submit lists to the library once they have added items
- Promote any relevant campaigns to students

At present, there is no language parameter in the URL for Leganto permalinks or the Leganto front page, which means that even if we toggle the language from our default (English) to another language, and then copy a permalink, the permalink will default to English when opened.

This is a problem for us as, in Wales, both English and Welsh are given equal status under Welsh Government language standards, and Welsh must not be treated less favourably than English. We need to provide links to Welsh language reading lists for courses taught through the medium of Welsh, which should not default to English on click.
