  1. Export to Excel - Remove "Citation" from each column

We want to suggest a slight modification of the export to Excel.

As you can see on the attached screenshot, the title for each column is preceded by Referanse/Citation.
    Ex:
Citation Volume | Citation Issue | Citation pages | Citation start page and so on.

The document would be easier to read, and thus more user friendly without the extra "citation" text.

  2. Creating section for citation without delete and recreate via API

Currently, it is not possible to create section_info information if citation is already exists. It must be delete the original citation and create new citation with updated section_info.

It is better to allow update of section_info directly without delete and recreate the same citation.

The ability to make copies or a duplication of a reference. For instance if you are adding multiple chapters from a book.

  4. Citation – Bibliographic record overlay enhancement request

    Request:
As a Library Staff member, I would like functionality that allows me to enhance the bibliographic information in Leganto citations by identifying, retrieving, and overlaying institutional bibliographic records. I would want this functionality to be added to the Leganto interface to allow me to process a list entirely within this environment.

We are aware of the “process and enrich citations job”. However, this job can be disruptive to citations where we are not supplying access via institutional holdings. We also want the ability to resolve bibliographic issues with citation on a case-by-case basis.

    Situation:
    When a citation has been…

  5. Reject input if DOI or citation source URL is incorrectly formatted (Leganto instructor UI)

We have seen many instructors create citations manually (rather than using Cite It) with the DOI formatted as a full URL (e.g. "https://doi.org/10.1111/misp.12056" rather than just "10.1111/misp.12056"). This prevents the citation from resolving and linking to the resource as expected.

Similarly, some users will add the citation source URL without the "https://" prefix, or with other formatting issues which prevent it from linking as expected.

A simple fix for this issue would be for Leganto to detect incorrectly formatted DOIs or URLs and to reject input, displaying a tooltip to inform the user of the correct…

  6. Display physical / electronic availability for citations in Analytics (Course Reserves and Instructor Usage subject areas)

Physical (print) and electronic (ebook) availability cannot be added as columns in these Analytics subject areas. This would be hugely beneficial for most of our daily reports and workflows as we try to ensure that a certain number of copies or electronic versions are available for resources added to reading lists.

An additional requirement is for availability to be shown for records related to the citation. This is because we have separate title records for physical (print) holdings and electronic (ebook) portfolios, and use the related_records parameter in Leganto Customer Settings to display availability for all available formats at citation…

  7. Enable Process and Enrich Citations to run as a scheduled job

This job needs to be run on a regular basis to ensure that all citations are linked to repository records, but this must currently be done manually by a member of library staff. It would be very useful if the job could be scheduled to run automatically.

  8. Display Instructor's name along with list title and code in search.

This is a very simply display improvement. Students looking for lists from searchlists often want to find their list by instructor name. Sometimes they will browse by department, or try to find their course amongst other sections and there is no indication of who the list instructor is from the brief list record. Even if they search by that name, they may misspell it and still have to and have to click through to open the course to be assured they have the right list. Adding it with the code at the bottom of the display would be a useful…

  9. Display series information in citation details

It would be useful if book series information (from the title record 440 and/or 490 fields) could be surfaced in citation metadata details. This is important information which should be displayed for the benefit of our users.

  10. Update tags via API

Currently, the Tags API is limited to retrieving tags. We would like the ability to be able to update and/or remove tags in bulk via a script using the API.

  11. Custom Analytics 'Reports' within Leganto interface for instructors

Currently the 'Reports' link (attached) in Leganto just links to an 'out the box' analytics dashboard displaying a range of usage information.

It would be useful to be able to define a path to our own Analytics dashboard in an Alma code table, e.g. in Fulfilment > Leganto > Customer Settings.

Our analytics report would be set to receive filters/parameters from Leganto, i.e. reading list codes.

Academic engagement forms a significant part of the work we do with reading lists, so being able to be flexible and responsive to their needs/wishes in terms of usage of their lists would definitely…

  12. Add library discussion notes to the citation brief display in Alma

This would save us from having to click into the citations to view notes from lecturers or between library staff

  14. Allow users (especially students) to add a note when link is marked as broken

When checking the broken link alerts each morning we often have to email the users to diagnose their access issues. It would save time if the user could add a short note at the point when they click 'Mark as broken'.

  15. Leganto navbar (add 'useful links' to the top of the Leganto User Interface)

The navigation bar (banner/header) in the Leganto User Interface currently does not have the functionality to add 'useful links/URLs (like it does in Primo VE e.g. header links to a 'new search', 'library homepage', 'help', etc.) to it. The ability to add URLs/links to the navigation bar would allow our patrons to access institution specific materials/webpages, such as, user manuals, copyright information, Library homepage, Primo VE, etc..

  16. Optional fields for more flexible export options

There are various ways to export a list, but the general feedback we get from the consortium is that there is often something missing and/or some elements are irrelevant:
Excel: tags are not included, and there are too many columns otherwise.
Word: with Apa or Chicago, public notes are not included; with the expanded reading style, tags are included, but not in a way that can help sort the citations, and physical location is irrelevant.
The pdf export contains some of this information but is not very print friendly.

In other words, none of the export options covers entirely the…

  17. Allow to disable welcome/help/instructor highlights

For instructor login, they will see the Welcome messages for the first time. The same message can be accessed via the Help menu. There is also a "Instructor highlights" which links to the release note.

    *ONE*
We tried to customize the welcome/help message. But it is very rigid that it must have 4 pages, and on the "Help" page, "Workflow" tab, it is hardcoded to have a fixed number of bullets, and some bullets must have more than one paragraph. Actually we don't want to show some information to the instructor and it is very strange there are some blank…

  18. Allow to embed the reading list page main content area to another webpage

We wish to have a way to embed the reading list page main content area (as attached) to another webpage. Because our library has a webpage for recommended books, and wants to show the reading list embedded in that webpage.

    Thank you

  19. Avoid session timeout for guests users

For the public find list page, in Guest mode, after timeout, it will redirect to the Leganto local login screen which is strange and user does not know what this is. We have raised SF 00647401 and ExLibris agreed to fix in Alma July release that it will redirect to the SAML login screen which looks more familiar to our user.

But actually ultimately what we want is NO session timeout for guest users. As no login in the first place, there is no need of "session timeout".

    Thank you

  20. Have a separate citation material type list for manually created citation

The full list contains 55 citation material types. If we disable some of them, then material type may show strange code like "READINGLISTCITATIONSECONDARYTYPES.REFERENCE_ENTRY" (assuming we have disabled the Reference Entry code).

But if we enable all of them, the list is too long for the Faculty to select when they create their own citation. Also Faculty do not have necessary knowledge to classify for each type. We expect it just a list of less than 10 items, say "Printed Books", "Printed Journal", "E-resources", etc.

In fact the citation type can be a very useful information in our workflow such that…
