  1. Ability to edit/streamline clipboard Leganto Task List

The current Leganto Task List includes items that are not tasks - they are completed. We'd like to be able to config/edit this display so that only actual tasks ie. 'processing' and 'ready for processing' are displayed.

  2. Allow additional staff roles to be configurable in Courses and displayed in Leganto

I would love the option to configure a new Course Instructor role in Alma/Leganto; it could be called something like ‘Course Collaborator’ to use wording consistent with other similar roles. This could then map more accurately between different staff roles in the VLE and different reading list ownership roles. Currently there is only one overarching Course role (Instructor), but the Course is the LTI linking point between VLE page and reading list, and the Course Loader is where you update details in bulk, so there does not seem a good way of keeping 'list collaborators' up to date without doing…

  3. Display the "Add Citation" button as citations are added to a Reading List in ALMA

We propose that the "Add Citation" option within a Reading List in ALMA become fixed (visible to the editor) as the editor adds citations.

Currently, in lists with many citations, the editor must return to the top of the List to continue adding citations.

It would be helpful to make the "Add Citation" option more accessible to avoid constantly scrolling back to the top.

  4. Search or facet for citation library-only notes

There's the possibility to add a library note to citations in Alma, which is not visible in Leganto. Currently this field can be searched only in Analytics (Leganto Citation Library Notes, Leganto Citation Library Notes Last Update). It includes the text of all notes of type Library, and the person who added the note. We would like to use this for internal notes of the acquisitions' team, but the fact that it's hidden in Alma hinders its usability.

  5. Expand Cross Ref Link resolver to include article subtitle

We have encountered cases wherein the Leganto articles do not resolve to the correct article; instead, they link to another article with the same title. After consultation with Ex Libris, this linking error was determined to occur for articles with duplicate titles because the CrossRef DOI enrichment for the linking parsers only uses the title as a match point.

Currently, addressing these errors requires Ex Libris intervention to make an exception for the citation. To prevent these errors in the future without one-off exceptions, we request an expansion of the CrossRef augmentation logic to include the subtitles.

  6. Link from course info to reading lists

Today for the two thousandth time(*) I've searched in Alma for a course and absent-mindedly clicked the course code link in order to get to the reading lists, then had to go back and get to them via the ... menu instead.

Reading lists have a "Courses" tab - can the course information page please have a "Reading lists" tab? Or even just a link from the sidebar to the "Course's Reading List " page.

    (*) Conservative estimate.

  7. Improve Calculation of 'Date Available From' for Copyright Approved Citations

The 'Date Available From' field in the copyright details of a citation should accurately reflect the date that students could access the uploaded file for a copyright approved citation.

However, currently, for citations with copyright approval that were created by rolling over a list, the 'Date Available From' field, defaults to the course start date, even if the citation was created after the course began. This is problematic because if the citation didn't exist at the start of the course, then the 'Date Available From' field doesn't reflect the actual earliest date students could access the uploaded file.

    Example scenario:

  8. Don't include deleted citations in analytics reports

I regularly work from quite long Leganto analytics reports to tidy up data and correct any errors in citation records. One thing that is very frustrating and wastes quite a lot of time is that citations which I can only presume have been deleted appear in such reports. I'm not sure why they should appear if they have been deleted (or the list they appear on has been deleted) but it would be great if the analytics reports could be tweaked so that such citation IDs no longer appear. Either that or at least have an option to exclude them.

  9. Allow "Watch" icon to be Hidden

Please allow the "Watch" icon to be hidden at the citation level to avoid confusion for users when embedded playback is not possible. This would help maintain a smoother user experience in such cases.

We encountered an issue in Leganto involving a YouTube video used as a citation in one of the sections.
The video displays the following message when accessed from the section view:
"Video unavailable. Playback on other websites has been disabled by the video owner. Watch on YouTube."

Clicking the "Watch" icon in the Full Details view correctly opens the video in a new window and plays…

  10. Link to course

When attempting to link a reading list to a course in Leganto, the dropdown menu does not display the instructor names - only Instructor's Alma ID numbers. This creates a challenge, especially for courses with multiple instructors, as it's difficult to identify the correct course without visible names.

As a result, we often need to switch back to Alma to look up the instructor’s ID number in order to select the appropriate course. This adds unnecessary steps and reduces efficiency.

It would greatly improve usability if instructor names were displayed alongside instead of ID numbers in the dropdown menu. Thank…

  11. Configuration option to automatically remove tags depending on the citation status

Some tags in Leganto are only used to trigger or label library workflows, e.g. purchase requests and digitization. If a citation with such a tag is set to complete, the workflow is also completed, and the tag is therefore no longer required. At the moment, these tags can only be removed manually. We would like to have the option to configure that such tags are automatically removed when the citation is set to ‘Complete’ or another citation status defined by the library.

  12. New analytics criteria: count of number of sections

  13. Rename citation file after upload

Currently the only way to change a citation file name is by downloading, renaming, and then reuploading renamed file, after deleting previous version. It would save a lot of time to be able to edit the file name directly in Alma, without having to download and reupload when using a specific name file convention.

The team that scans and uploads files is different to the reading list processing team and the file needs to be named correctly at a later stage after it's been uploaded. We also receive resource sharing files from partner libraries where we can't control how the…

  14. Favourite facets filter

    Description:
The ability to quickly select an option of already saved facet filters in Alma Course Reserves for Citations would ensure an efficient way of getting to items that need our attention with one click of a button.

    Impact:
We use different filters like Citation Status, Tags, Copyright Status, to process any items as we’re preparing lists. Currently there’s no way to quickly select different facets at once and we need to select each facet as a filter one by one which takes time to load and refresh the results each time as well.

    Expected outcome:
    You will be able…

  15. Add a status of 'digitisation archived' for DCS requests

Currently there are two statuses for digitisation request licence status - approved or rejected. Requests that have been temporarily archived show as 'digitisation rejected' which is inaccurate and could be misleading. We would like to request a new status for those requests that exist in the DCS, but have been archived and are not currently available to students.

  16. Display (both) print holdings of citations that have had their availability merged in Leganto

It is currently possible to merge the availability of citations possessing different availabilities, i.e. print and online, in Leganto but it is not possible to merge the availability of citations where the availability is print and print.
For example - a citation of a regular sized junior fiction title and that of a citation of the "big book" version size of the same title which happens to be on a different catalogue record.

  17. Export Leganto reading lists as PDF: add tags to the PDF for better accessibility

An accessible PDF must include document structure tags, which describe the logical and semantic structure of a document. This is important for screen readers and other assertive technologies to interpret and reproduce the content correctly.
Unfortunately, when a Leganto reading list is exported as PDF, the PDF does not include document structure tags. We hope that tags can be added and thus Leganto reading lists become accessible as PDFs too.

  18. Ability to add new metadata fields to Citation Field Mapping table

Currently the citation field mapping configuration table in Alma only allows us to add a row with metadata that is pre-defined in a set drop-down list. We would like to be able to add to this list by creating extra metadata fields to choose from

  19. Add PNX record to citation data

Troubleshooting Leganto links is more helpful when staff can understand where the record originates or is pulled from. Leganto allows staff members to search by PNX record ID and the Alma MMS ID. However, when broken links are reported, this information is not shared in the citation metadata.

Adding this data to the process would help ensure that staff can compare the correct items when troubleshooting broken links. While we know there is a citation origin field in Leganto Analytics, it would be more effective to go a step further and have an option like a bookmarklet that can be…

  20. “Select all citations” on list level, and not having to first select one citation for the toolbar to appear and then select all

The Select all item option should be placed right next to the search button (as indicated in the picture), and preferably not hidden under an action menu.

Already you can select all citations in sections in the Section menu, so it would only make sense to be able to do the same thing on a list level, for instance when you want to tag all citations in the list in one operation.

The preferred workflow would be one click to select all citations, and then having the toolbar appear, the same way it does when you select one citation.
