  1. Multiple processing departments for instructor digitization requests

Today, Leganto configuration includes a hardcoded processing department for instructor digitization requests.
Idea: Define a new logic for auto-picking the digitization processing department from multiple departments.

  2. Enable translation of reading list texts

The Leganto UI supports multiple languages, which is very helpful. It is however not possible to translate individual texts of reading lists, such as their titles, into different languages.

    Please enable the following:

    1. A way to easily input in multiple (at least two) languages a) reading list titles, b) section names, c) citation public notes, d) section notes, and e) possibly other such reading list related texts that are not part of the bibliographic metadata.

    2. That the relevant translated text (as per above) be displayed depending on what language the user has selected for the UI in the Leganto language…

  4. Material Visibility Start and End Dates on Rollover Inherit New Course Start and End Dates

Adding material visibility start and end dates for uploaded files requires clicking in and out of every citation on the list which has an uploaded file, and then clicking 4 or 5 times further to advance the calendar to the end of the semester for each citation's material visibility end date. This request is asking for the rollover process, both for instructor and course loader rollover, to include the option to assign new material visibility start and end dates to any citations on the list which have a material visibility date at the time of rollover, and the new course…

  5. Lookup pricing and availability of books at online bookstores and display to patrons

Ability to lookup pricing and availability of books using online bookstores' REST APIs and display to students and instructors, with links, in the Additional Services section of the full citation display. So not just links that might not work using "general electronic service", but more like "Check Availability and Pricing" in Alma. Not just for Amazon, it needs to be possible for an institution to select their preferred partner(s) and configure their affiliate ID or other parameters in the API requests.

  6. Improve Citations search (Alma workflows) e.g. include Journal title (and chapter title?)

    Hi,

Staff find that the Citations search functionality in Alma/Course Reserves is not as effective as it could be for finding updates as the indexes which can be chosen do not cover sufficient citation metadata fields to allow for the most common searches to be supported.

    Currently the search options are:
    Citation ID
    Course Code
    Course Name
    Creator
    ISBN
    ISSN
    MMS ID
    Reading List Name
    Title

However it is frequently the case when looking to update/correct citations that a Journal title would need to be searched, and unfortunately Title does not cover this aspect of the citation metadata when the…

  7. Overview of readings lists in a study program

    Leganto gives the possibility to
    - link to a specific course (and display the list(s) associated to this course)
    - get an overview of all the reading lists belonging to a specific academic departments, through their course association

The missing link in between is the association of a smaller number of courses, belonging to the same academic department or not:
    the study program.

Librarians and instructors could associate courses to a study program as easily as they can associate a list to a course.
Students could search for a program in the find list interface.
    An overview of all the…

  8. Make tags clickable

Tags look clickable in Leganto, even if they are not. It creates the expectation that something should happen. Some users might expect they will be taken to the full text of the citation, depending on the tag label.

What we would like to happen when a user clicks on a tag is that they get an overview of all the citations with the same tag. It's a quicker and more intuitive way than the current way of filtering by tag.

  9. Export permalinks as part of list/section export

When exporting a list or a list section to Word, it would be very useful if the permalinks were also exported, as part of the citation. It is good practice and we would encourage our instructors to use full references if they want to add links to individual readings in topic areas of the VLE courses (or in email communications or on Powerpoint slides). In order to encourage instructors to comply, we would like to make this process as quick and simple as possible. Our suggestion to them is to export the section of the list to Word and to…

  10. Ability to configure name of library staff for display in Library Discussion

When notes are posted in Library Discussion, the full name of the user displays. We would like to be able to configure how we display staff names (for example, first names only).

  11. Display module name / code / year alongside list title in Copy Section > Copy Into List dropdown menu

This dropdown menu currently only displays lists by title. This is not useful in cases where the list has a generic title, e.g. 'Reading List', or if the same list has been rolled-over from previous years (there is no way to distinguish which list is for which year).

It would be very useful if the module name, code and year could be displayed alongside the list title here.

  12. Add a Leganto-specific email address after "Reply to" in notification letters

Some institutions use a Leganto-specific email address, which they would like to add at the end of the Leganto notifications letters, where it says "Reply to" (see attachment).

The address listed after that (Contact us) is a general email address for the library/institution.

Not all of them may need to use different addresses but it would be nice to have the option.

Could you consider making the necessary changes, and add a <leganto_email> element in the XML as well (XML to letter admin)?

  14. Display templates and other elements in the interface language

In today's interface, if you want the same template in different languages, you have to either create one for each language, or remember to have both languages in the section title when creating the template.

    EX: Section 1: Obligatorisk/Mandatory

Templates consist of a name, description and section names. The person creating the template could be given the option to translate these fields when creating the template. Of course, it would be an advantage if templates could be edited later on.

All templates should be visible regardless of the interface language, but the template should be shown in the same language…

  15. Customisable text box in Leganto UI to provide library contact details

We would like the option for a library enquiry email address and phone number to be visible on all screens in the Leganto UI. A customisable text box could be added to the bottom left corner of the screen with this information.

  17. Showing "Related Items" to student users

  18. Button to toggle list editor/manager status for all collaborators at once

In almost all cases, we want collaborators to be able to manage their lists rather than just edit them. This means having to individually change the setting for each collaborator after adding them.

It would be much quicker if there was a single button in the 'Manage collaborators' window to switch all other collaborators from 'Can edit list' to 'Can manage list', and vice versa. This button should only be visible to library staff and existing list managers.

  19. Allow removal of LTI-added lists from My lists by users themselves

It would be useful for all categories of user - Instructor, Student and Librarian to have the facility to actively remove any list/s which have been added to their My lists page either by dint of being a course or list owner, OR simply by having follow the LTI link from a VLE/CMS/LMS course link.

Librarian staff have ended up stuck with lists because of this, but also because we wish normally to auto add instructor role and auto add instructor as owners, it would still be useful to allow all users to actively decide to control what they have…

  20. Frequently auto-refresh Leganto reading lists so statuses are updated without having to continually, manually refresh the page

I think it would be helpful to auto-refresh Leganto reading lists so any real-time changes are evident without having to manually refresh the page. This suggestion arose when library staff were trying to help faculty troubleshoot problems over the phone, but I think it would be helpful in general.
