  1. Enable embedded videos for assignments and class discussions

    (I'm not sure if this comes under the roadmap item "Support websites for Read and Respond assignments and Social Reading" or if it would be additional work.)

    Currently instructors use a third-party tool where they can paste in a YouTube video link and the video is embedded in a page where students can add comments at relevant points. (So comments are associated with a timestamp.)   2. Push citation due dates to student To Do list

    In the LMS, students use the To Do list to keep track of course deadlines. Instructors would like the due dates entered in their reading lists to be included there, but currently citations have to be added to an assignment to make that happen. An assignment is not always needed or wanted, so functionality would be improved for the instructor if due dates for citations were automatically pushed to the To Do list in the LMS. Students would benefit from having all due dates in the same place.

  3. Enable class discussion for assignments

    Currently it looks like instructors can choose to enable class discussion on a citation OR set up a read and respond assignment. Sometimes they want to combine the functionalities: set up a reading for the class to discuss together, and the instructor then grades students based on their participation.

    Read and Respond assignments should have the option for instrutors to either set up student responses to be private between student and instructors (the default) or to be an open class discussion but with grading still available.

  4. Allow courses to be marked as not requiring a reading list - in bulk

    The NERS 2022 enhancement #7744 delivered in Jan 2023 allowed individual courses in Alma to be marked as not requiring a reading list. However it did not allow for any bulk method of marking courses as not requiring reading lists.

    It would be a distinct advantage for good and accurate administration of course details to allow for bulk methods of marking courses appearing in Alma as not requiring reading lists.

  5. Allow instructors to set a course as deliberately having no reading list

    After the Jan 2023 release, a course can be marked as deliberately having no reading list in Alma (NERS 2022 #7744).

    However there is no way for instructors to set this flag by themselves which would be a logical and convenient way of adding this information which the Library itself would not necessarily know itself from year-to-year or term to term.
    It would also allow the Library to promote the flagging of courses as not requiring a list each year.

    Instead, instructors have to contact the Library to set it on their behalf which creates extra work.

  6. view videos directly via a Leganto/ Alma Viwer

    Uploaded video in Leganto can only be downloaded and cannot be viewed online. We think it would be a great feature if ExLibris could implement the option to view videos directly via a 'Leganto/(Alma)' viewer

  7. Allow configuration of list-level "Import" options for creating a list

    Currently (Feb 2023) it is not possible to configure - and specifically to disable - the list-level "Import" option when creating new lists - i.e. whether via MyLists/New List, OR when instructors enter Leganto via LTI from the CMS/LMS/VLE (say BlackBoard) and are prompted to create a list. Currently there is no way to hide this option or control the types supported. This is inconsistent as it is possible to hide the option from the Section menu for example.

  8. Colour coding importance tags

    Importance tags are an important way of indicating to students what their reading expectations are. We are encouraging list creators to reduce the number of sections in their lists and combine essential and background readings into single sections, using the importance tag. The tags are the same colour regardless of the criteria.

  9. Add broken link reporting option to citation ellipsis menu

    Hello there,

    A student user navigating through a Leganto list sees the "View Online" button with the citations directly available in the list, without having to click into the full view each citation to access the content.

    They just click on the View Online circled in pink (see attached doc), and that opens a new tab in the browser bringing them to the content.

    If this link does not work, how can they report as a broken link? They have to conscious that it is necessary to fully open the citation up, and then click on the "Mark as broken"…

  10. Purchase request letter - Regarding your Purchase Request

    Is is possible to make the Letter - Regarding your Purchase Request (the reply letter that is generate from a purchase request made via Leganto to the customer) to be more customisable or at least to contain the basic bibliographic details of year and edition?

  12. implement SSO via Microsoft Azure for Leganto so that our Brightspace users do not have to logon via ezproxy when on an off-campus PC.

    Our Brightspace users have already logged on via our university portal which uses Microsoft Azure SSO. From within Brightspace, they access the Leganto reading list where they click on Primo links to our subscribed resources. We use OCLC-hosted ezproxy to authenticate users when they click a link from the library website but when users have already authenticated into Primo or Brightspace via Azure, there is no need for them to be prompted a second time via ezproxy.   13. Improved analytics reporting for new LTI functionality

    Since upgrading to the new v1.3 of the LTI we are encouraging instructors to make use of the new functionality in the VLE such as embedding citation metadata or links to specific parts of reading lists.

    Anecdotally we know that our instructors are using and enjoying these new features. However, we'd like to be able report on and demonstrate the impact of this.

    Could the Student Usage area of analytics be developed to be able to report on how many click throughs from, for example, embedded citations or embedded links there are from VLE to Leganto?

  14. Ability to upload citations to multiple lists in bulk

    We would like to include a citation on all of our reading lists for the Cite them right database, as it would be useful for students. We would like to add the citation to multiple lists in one action rather than doing it individually but there doesn't seem to be a way of doing this.

  15. Option to link Leganto citation metadata to Alma/Primo bibliographic data

    Bibliographic metadata for books is often improved in Alma/Primo after a citation has been created in Leganto. We would like the option to link the citation metadata from Alma/Primo so that when Alma/Primo metadata is updated, the Leganto citation metadata would be updated also.

  16. Option to configure automatic Digitisation Requests with "Chapter" citations

    It is possible to configure Leganto so that when a new "Book" citation is added, a new Purchase Request is raised in Alma.

    However, with newly added "Chapter" citations, either the Leganto Instructor or Operator then has to raise a digitisation request manually from the list, for each one of these citation types.

    It would help to have the option to configure Leganto so that each newly added "Chapter" citation could automatically generate a Digitisation Request, with the metadata from the generated Citation (including the page range or Chapter title) included in the request.

  17. Course Management System support for 2U

    One of our schools use the 2U Course Management system (https://2u.com/) but currently there is no integration available with Leganto, so our School of Education is doing their own course reading lists instead of using Leganto. Ideally, we want the school to use Leganto like the other schools do with D2L so that the reading lists are all managed within Alma.

  18. Rollover - Allow Excel files to be directly uploaded to course loader integrated profile

    Currently we have to create a spreadsheet for a course rollover, then re-format it into text tab delimited file and then add it to a FTP server before it can be run in the course loader integrated process. This is a long winded process where errors can creep in.

    It would be an improvement if you could upload the file directly in the Course loader integrated profile as a file upload. It would also be better if this upload could be an Excel spreadsheet rather than a text tab delimited file

  19. Vertically align the "view online" button in citations

    Hello. We are migrating from Talis to Leganto.

    In Talis, our students can see the "View Online" button clearly in the bookmarks. This button is always in the same place as they scroll through the list. See the first attached image. It makes for a consistent UX. Students primarily access their reading list content electronically (including articles, websites, scanned chapters) rather than finding a print copy on the shelves.

  20. Make the copyright approval "Number of students" field be a number

    Currently in Analytics, if a citation is associated with multiple courses then the "Citation Copyright"."Number of Students" field displays as eg "20;22;0". Ie it lists the number of students in each course, as a text field, rather than giving the total 42 as a number.

    This is effectively useless. Our copyright reporting requires the total number. And for statistical purposes I might want to multiply the number of students by the number of pages on a citation, which I can't do with a text field.
