Ability to set default purchase request library for all users with Purchase Request Form
We would like the option to set a default purchase request library that is selected/displayed automatically in the purchase request form in Primo VE, regardless of whether the patron submitting the form has a purchase request library selected in their Alma record. This would allow the purchase request form to come to us in Alma with the correct Owning Library filled in automatically (as we only purchase via one of our libraries).

Allow Bibtex information to be copied and pasted rather than only downloaded
Currently, Primo requires that users download Bibtex and other citation data to their computers, and then upload or copy it from a document. This takes up valuable memory. Google Scholar has a feature that allows you to copy and paste the Bibtex citation directly from the browser rather than needing to download it, saving space and the hassle of saving and uploading a list of resources to their computers. Could a similar functionality be created for Primo VE where Bibtex information can be copied and pasted rather than just downloaded?

Give more weight to PMID in one-word PMID searches [Primo VE]
In Primo VE, if a user wants to search for an article with a one-word PMID search (such as 22878467), the search will also match to articles in a journal with the ISSN 2287-8467, due to ISSN fuzzy matching. The issue arises in the brief result listing: currently the ISSN is given more weight than the PMID, pushing the relevant result to the very end of the list.
In the above mentioned case, the user gets 18 results in total where the 18th is the one the user is interested in. Everything before it are articles from the journal with…

Primo VE: Allow users to select false options when requesting items to another campus
Due to the set up of rules within our system, students are able to request books to any campus they want to except their home campus (as it is available to pick up).
When they don't see their campus as an option, they will send the book to another campus, see that it has arrived, and then turn up at the wring site expecting the item. We're proposing a setting in which the student would be able to select their own campus, but then receive an error message when they try to process it explaining why they can't and what…

Display snippets in brief results for physical records when search terms appear in formatted content (5xx) fields
It would be helpful for Primo VE to display highlighted snippets in brief results for physical records (like the full-text snippets for CDI records) when a user's search terms match on text that is in a formatted contents field.
For example, if a patron currently searches for the title of a volume within a multi-volume set (and the search terms used for that volume title do not match on any other fields present in brief results), the record for that multi-volume set will appear in the search results, but with no obvious indication as to why (although the matching search…

Additional Function:Excludes unnecessary resource types in Specialized Search Scopes for CDI
■Idea
When configuring "Specialized Search Scopes for CDI" https://knowledge.exlibrisgroup.com/Primo/Product_Documentation/020Primo_VE/Primo_VE_(English)/040Search_Configurations/010Configuring_Search_Profiles_for_Primo_VE
in Primo VE, currently only 5 CDI resource types can be selected, so we want to change the system that unnecessary resource types can be excluded.■Context
Regarding "Exclude eBooks from CDI Results - Phase 2 (NERS #6702)", In Phase 1, all books were excluded from search, but after Phase 2, some books remain in the search results. To exclude books for this reasons,we would like to set the "Specialized Search Scopes for CDI" with limited number of CDI resource types.
But the maximum number of resource types that can be…16 votes -

Ability to edit the OTB (Out-of-the-Box) search and facet rules in Primo VE
We would like to be able to edit the OTB search and facet rules. This is necessary for parity with PBO. There are several things that we were able to do in PBO that we cannot reproduce in VE because of the lack of this functionality. In the PBO OTB author search and facet, we were able to include dates and qualifiers from names in the LCNAF, which improved precision. In the OTB language facet, we were able to include intertitle, caption and audio description languages, which are not currently included in the VE OTB index. On the other hand,…

Display Logic Rules - Access Model
Add the ability to configure display logic rules based on access model of items. For example if the same title is available from one collection as DDA, but is UA in a different collection, display (or prioritize) the UA link.

Show e-collections activated in the NZ in the Database Search of IZs
In our network we activate certain Open Access e-resources in the Network Zone. These e-collections are activated for every IZ without restriction. Some of our Institution Zones are using the Database Search to allow Patrons to search for their e-collections. Unfortunately, the Database Search is showing only e-collections that are activated and have inventory in the IZ. It does not show any of the Network Zone e-collections.
We would like to have the option to include the Network zone activated e-collections in the Database Search of the IZs.
57 votesThank you for posting this idea. We are checking the option to enhance Database Search scope to include also e-collections that are available for all not only for the specific IZ.

Display Logic Rule: hide multiple links to same Interface
Where there are multiple links from the same Interface, provide a way for a Display Logic rule to be added that only shows the first of links from the same interface, and hides the rest.
Often we have multiple links on the same interface (to different Ebsco, Proquest, Gale collections) with identical access.
Currently it does not appear possible to add a display logic rule to do this.

Journal coverage: show more label if there is more than one embargo
Since November 2021 journal coverage is shown in brief results (https://knowledge.exlibrisgroup.com/Primo/Release_Notes/002Primo_VE/2021/010Primo_VE_2021_Release_Notes#Show_Journal_Coverage_Dates_in_Brief_Results_and_Journal_Search_).
This is very good, but there is one rule that is not the best solution. It is stated: "Coverage information may include a single embargo, and if multiple embargoes exist, only one of them will appear in the coverage."
Now, embargoes of different portfolios may contradict each other. So, if the user only see the first one, he may erraneously believe he has no access. Therefore, as soon as there is more than one embargo, the more label should get added to the journal coverage in the…10 votes -
Display both active (payable) AND accruing fines/fees at Fine+fees tab of a user’s account
Fines+fees tab of a user’s account does not show the balance of the accruing fines. Fines+fees tab doesn’t include the information of the loans that have accruing fines on them, and this confuses clients. They should be able to see this information easily and understand the difference between active and accruing fines.
We propose that Fine+fees tab of a user’s account should display the total amount of active and accruing balance; the active (payable) balance with the Pay button beside it and the accruing balance. We also wish that the fine type of the loans that have accruing fines would…

Allow themes to overwrite/override SASS files
One of the biggest difficulties when theming Primo VE is getting link, background, and search bar colors consistent across the different page types. Because the underlying theme uses lighter and darker variations of colors, just editing the color file isn't enough. This leaves us looking for every variation of selector using browser inspect tools, which is time consuming and very hit-or-miss.
Being able to override the SASS, even if it's only for the complete list of color and font selectors, would be extremely helpful and make theme development more clear-cut and efficient.

Signed in user should be able to set their preferred search profile
We have decided to place the Library catalog search profile first in the search box as this is what most of our users need. However, some of our users find this irritating and request for the All or International articles option to be put first. This is obviously a choice that's always going to make somebody unhappy!
To get around this issue, we suggest that a signed-in user should be able to set their own preferences as to which search profile comes first in the search box.

Ability to boost newer editions as 5 publication dates does not do this job well.
Currently we have older editions showing above newer editions in Primo VE. It would be helpful to be able to boost editions by the number of the edition. Currently the date boost has only 5 possible options in Primo VE. This means you can only add 5 separate years to regulate newer editions showing above old ones. Uses date ranges doesn't work as the edition between the range get same boost. Either you need to increase the number of date boost entries or create an ability to boost by edition.

Purchase Request - only allow certain users to put in a request if identifier finds a match on our holdings
If a purchase request finds a match on our holdings, it will warn the patron of it existing on our catalogue and provide a link to view the record, but still provide the option to submit the request afterward.
Would like it so the option to submit request can be made hidden from certain groups of users (Display Logic Rule?). i.e. Make it so Students won't be able to submit a request if it exists on our holdings, but still allow it for Staff

Purchase/Resource Sharing request forms - autofill details with ISBN
Would be very handy for end-users to be able to use the ISBN to autofill the details of an item on the generic Purchase request/Resource Sharing request forms.
At the moment it only autofills the details if using the request form on a Primo record (as it uses the metadata from there), or by using DOI/PMID on the Resource Sharing form.

Collection discovery display shut off independent of collection path display
We would like the ability to have a collection not display with other collections in collection discovery but yet still have the collection link available in the collection path to give a results list for students of all items in the collection.
Just a toggle on or off for collection discovery display is needed. Right now, we have to suppress the collection to avoid display, but then it removes the collection path link too.
