Control Purchase Request Display in Primo by Material Type
Using display logic rules there is no easy way to show the Purchase Request link based on material type. We want to enable the purchase request link for ebooks, but not ejournals. I did come up with a hackey workaround by creating a GES that only does the identification of the journal and then a display logic rule to hide the purchase request if this GES is present, but there seems like there should be a better way to do this?

It would make things easier for us to be able to do this too without needing the work around.

We would like to filter the display of purchase requests at books only that were published during the last 5 years. Thank you for considering it.

We would also like to suppress the purchase request for Conference Proceedings.

Agreed. We'd like to hide PRs for all print serials as well as electronic articles, etc.

Agreed. Can this also be considered for Summon over Alma?

We would very much like to restrict the display of the Purchase request based on resource type. We've postponed turning on this functionality until we can suppress display for journal articles.

Also in France, we don't want the purchase request service for journals. Thank you.

We will never want journal articles coming through as purchase requests, it is only logical to not have that link showing up on journal article results.

Just ran across another use for this... We set all our Hathitrust emegergency access title using material type and would like to suppress the link based on that: https://www.screencast.com/t/9sL1mzxUzZqy
There actually is the ability to create a GES based on material type now, but when you try to use that in the display logic to hide the purchase request Alma doesn't allow it. I think it is because the material type GES is item level, while the purchase request is title level so not letting them mix in display logic settings?

Hi Dean,
Can you share your process for how you did this? - assuming it's working as expected.
Thanks, Ann

Totally agree, we'd love to suppress purchase request when the item is a journal article or a journal - instead we have to reject the request and refer them to Inter-library loan. This wastes time for users and staff.
