Ability to choose a section of a subject links and not just the entire string. E.g. "Comic books, strips, etc -- Social aspects -- United States" can only be selected as a whole, but not as individual parts, such as "Comic books, strips, etc."

  2. Incorporate e-resources in the Virtual Browse tab

We would very much like the option to have the Virtual Browse carousel interfile e- and print resources. Currently the carousel only includes print resources.

Curtin University (http://catalogue.curtin.edu.au/primo_library/libweb/action/search.do) seem to have achieved this (see the 'Further Reading' tab under the search results) and you can clearly identify which are online and which are print resources.

  3. Add MHRA (Modern Humanities Research Association) as citation style

The new UI 'send-to' citation functionality extends to APA, Chicago, MLA, Harvard styles. The majority of humanities students (at least at this institution) are asked to use the MHRA citation style. Please vote for this idea if you would like to see MHRA added to the list.

  4. Include the item barcode as part of the data published from Alma to Primo in the AVA field to improve item search in Primo

Request for Alma item barcode be included in the data that is published to Primo as part of the Alma publishing functionality to enable barcode searchability in the Primo keyword search. We have discovered that items migrated from our previous ILS do contain the item barcode(s) in the MARC 945 $$i and is written to the search:general field of the PNX. As such, those items are keyword searchable via their barcode in Primo. However, for items created in Alma, the item barcode is not written to the bib record and is therefore not searchable in Primo. Adding the item barcode…

  5. Enable actions for loans/requests in My Account

Right now in Primo, if you have items checked out at your library, you can't do anything with them in the UI. You can't send to RefWorks, email, etc. Users would like to be able to send these items to citation management tools and they currently can’t do that. From the loan list, there is no link back to the full record.

  6. Improve APA citation format to include the DOI for an article

APA citation format should include the DOI information for journal articles. As recommended by APA.

    http://blog.apastyle.org/apastyle/digital-object-identifier-doi/

However citations from Primo do not include a DOI.

We note that Summon is able to do this and hope that the defect be resolved.

Hooper, L. (2012). ExLibris's Primo and Musical Research. Music Reference Services Quarterly, 15(2), 119-124.

Thank you for this idea, with the enhancement of supporting Citation Style Language (CSL) in Primo, the mapping of data was improved. The DOI is included for APA style taken from CSL official repository

  7. one-click-unsubscribe link for saved searches emails

saved search emails that are send on regular basis should include a link to quickly unsubscribe from the alert.

It is a common and userfriendly practice to include unsubscribe links in newsletters so they wont need to login to their account to change this. Email alerts may be annoying to the patrons in case of shifting interests unsubscribe/subscribe easily will uplift the usage of this particular service.

  10. Display of earlier editions in 'View x versions' feature instead of latest ones

Unfortunately, and I've noticed this with other titles in Primo, e.g. Begg Economics, the latest editions of titles are hidden in the 'View x versions' area of Primo while the earliest edition is displayed in the search results. It would be better perhaps if the latest edition displayed with the option to view earlier editions under the 'View x versions' feature.

Thank you for this idea, In the recent release Primo and Primo VE offers improved format out for the box for the Saved Searches Alert email with option to customize it (in Primo using mapping table , in Primo VE using the Alma Letters Configuration )

  12. Add "modify search" option to retain facets/filters

Facets used to refine searches must be re-selected if the search keywords are modified. It would help to offer the ability to modify a search while retaining the selected facets.

  13. Keep search preferences between searches

We find it annoying that facet selections made in a search are lost when a new search is run. (In both Advanced and basic searches)

So for example if I select a library location or if I expand my results for one search, these settings are lost if I change my search terms.

We would like the selections to stay but with an easy way to clear them if desired.

  14. BibTeX export

Primo only offers one export file format for bibliographies: RIS

Unfortunately not all citation management tools directly support this file format. The users have to use conversion tools.
Therefore please add the very popular BibTeX export file format.

  15. API for Primo Analytics

Idea: ExLIbris to provide an API for access Primo Analytics in a similar manner as Alma Analytics API

Reason: Without an automated way to extract data from Primo Analytics the usefulness of Primo Analytics is greatly reduced.

We need the ability to extract data from Primo Analytics reports via an API so we can use this data in other ways. Such as importing into other reporting systems (databases, BI tools, etc.. ), merging with out Library/University data/reports, etc..

Any new ExLibris product should provide an API as a standard, from initial release.

    Cheers

  19. Add live links from books etc. on Primo to the Leganto lists they feature on

When we look at items within Primo that are featured on Leganto reading lists we are given the module information for them i.e. which modules, and therefore lists, they are linked to. For example: https://librarysearch.rgu.ac.uk/discovery/fulldisplay?docid=alma991000824659704636&context=L&vid=44RGU_INST:VU1&search_scope=EBOOKS&tab=Everything&lang=en.

While this is very useful it would be great if these were links to the actual lists on Leganto.

Please let me know if this idea should be on the Leganto exchange rather than this one.

  20. Show My Account and Sign In without extra click and Show logged in user's name under Sign Out

    Hello,

The California State University (CSU) system has developed custom angular js to Show My Account and Sign In without extra click and Show logged in user's name under Sign Out as the OTB functionality for the new Primo UI, forcing one to hover over the "Guest" label seems inadequate from a usability perspective.

We would like to know if ExLibris can build-in this angular js functionality into the main source code for the new Primo UI, so the current, inadequate OTB functionality for signing into My Account can be addressed.

Here is the angular js code for the CSU:
