  1. More search indexes in Advanced Search

    Please enable search indexes such as 'Is not empty', 'Not contains', 'Not contains phrase', 'Not equal' search logic to as many search indexes as possible, especially for DC fields of Digital titles.

  2. New Alma Layout and New Metadata Editor: Same Icons for Different Functions

    1. In the New Alma Layout the ‘Recent Pages’ and ‘Recent Entities’ share the same icon although they serve different content (cf. attached screen clipping).

    2. In the new Alma layout, the icon for Advanced Search displayed left of the persistent search slot is essentially the same as the icon in the new Metadata Editor's left pane, which serves to filter the list of records (cf. attached screen clipping).

    We believe that using one icon for two different functions is confusing to the users and suggest replacing the icon for one of the two for both cases.

    Thank you for your feedback. We have changed the advance search icon to a different icon than the filtering option in the new metadata editor.
    We have checked the other idea of changing the icon for Recent Pages and the icon for Recent Entities and come to the conclusion it is the common semantic users are used to.

  3. Remove the gender field

    Entirely remove the gender field (from staff-facing patron data form) or allow us to grey it out so it is not collected. There is no need to collect gender information about library patrons. This is a matter of equity and inclusion.

  4. Allow same-day booking with "days" booking resolution.

    We are testing the use of "days" booking resolution, as opposed to minutes. We notice that when patrons try to place a same-day request, they get the error: "Date must be in the future." This probably makes sense for some institutions, especially without a "lead-time" setting to provide buffer time. However, we have a collection of AV equipment that students can book same-day.

    This already works fine when staff make a same-day booking request in Alma using "day" resolution; the error only occurs when patrons try to do the same in Primo. I'm not sure if the necessary change would…

  5. Remove "material type" and "term of use" fields on the request form

    We don't need "material type" and "term of use" fields on the request form. They are not mandatory fields and we think it is a waste of time for our patrons to fill them in. Find more details in the attachment.

  6. Maybe Search indexes is not updated? I want 773 $$t indexed as Title.

    I often check this Help site https://knowledge.exlibrisgroup.com/Alma/Product_Documentation/Alma_Online_Help_%28English%29/Resource_Management/020Using_the_Repository_Search/Search_Indexes
    to check how things are indexed. It looks like 773 $t is indexed as Content related data. Shouldn't it be indexed as Title? I suspect that it is indexed as title, but the information in Search indexes is not correct? Search indexes is very useful, and I would appreciate it updated.

  7. Set input focus for "Quick Search" box

    Please set the input focus for the "Quick Search" box under these two criteria:

    1) When logging into Alma
    2) When changing the search criteria

    When a user logs in they should be able to type immediately into the Quick Search box and get a result.

    When a user changes the format they want to search (Titles, Collections, Authorities, Vendors, etc). They should be able to click on what they want and start typing.

    In both of these scenarios by moving the mouse (especially #2) the user experience is inefficient.

  8. Set input focus when using persistent menu

    Similar to the previous enhancement suggestion "Set input focus for 'Quick Search' box" when a user navigates using the persistent menu to move to a new area of alma the search box should already be set to input focus.

    For example, if a user goes to Alma -> Receiving and Invoicing -> Reviews -> The "Find" search box should have the input focus so the user can start searching.

    This is more efficient and a better user experience. It is much less clicking.

  9. Add Expiration Date to list of roles for a given user

    After searching for a User and clicking on their name to display current roles, the display should include a column for Expiration date (in fact the current display of Status date -- when the role for the user was last updated -- is virtually worthless). Especially at the beginning of a new school year when formerly expired students are returning to work, it would be extremely helpful to see the expiration date from the list of roles without having to Edit and open up each role.

  10. Add holdings / suppressed from discovery data to Analytics physical items SA

    I'd like to be able to exclude any suppressed holdings from my analyses. I see the "suppressed from discovery" data point for bibliographic records, but not for holdings.

    The “Holding Details” folder of the “Physical Items” subject area includes the following two fields and therefore fulfills the requirements of this ideas exchange:
    ’Suppressed from discovery"
    ’Suppressed from discovery by suppressed location"

  11. Allow overlap analysis between localized and Community Zone Collections

    The most useful element of overlap analysis is to be able to compare the content of a resource you do not subscribe to, to one or more that you already do subscribe to. For example, if a library subscribes to Business Source Complete, and is considering an upgrade to Business Source Ultimate, it would be great if these two packages could be compared using Overlap Analysis, without having to localize or activate Business Source Ultimate. Ideally, comparing a single Community Zone collection that is not yet activated against a library's entire localized holdings would also be helpful.

  12. Provide a search box to locate a particular configuration

    There are many configurations in Alma that give libraries a lot of flexibility for customization. They can be located under Acquisitions, Resource Management, Fulfillment, Administration, etc. It is obvious for some configurations (E.g. Shipping Method under Acquisitions) but not for many others (E.g Work Order, Sort Routine). Suggest to look into providing a search box (Say, as part of the pull-down menu on the top left) for configurations. It should be helpful and reduce some frustration. Thank you.

    In the ideas exchange " Add a week key to dates eg request dates" You ask:
    We would like to be able to look at physical item requests by week, but can only currently do it by month. Could a week key be added to analytics?

    We answer:
    This can be done using the “Request Date Week Number” in the Requests Subject Area.
    This field did not exist in 2017 when you opened the ideas Exchange.

  15. Delete History resources in license

    We would like to be able to completely delete the history of resources in license when requested. We would like to have the choose to delete or not this history. The addition of a bouton "Delete" at level History of resources > Resources type would be great.

  17. Autosave files to .txt

    File save options limited to .csv We have various local processing jobs that need .txt files for input, which means we have to rename the exports from Analytics before making use of the files. Offer other standard file extensions to Analytics

  19. Fines Transfer Indication in Fines and Fees Details Screen

    We would like to see some form of indication when our patrons' fines/fees transfer from their Alma patron record to their SIS financial account. Currently, in our system, after 32 days outstanding fines are automatically transferred from the patron's library account to our Financial Services office. We have discovered that Alma does not provide any indication of this happening in the Fines and Fees Details screen. The fine simply shows a status of "closed" and a status date presumably when the fine transferred. There is no status of "transfer" or other indication that this happened.   20. Analytic report widget : remove edit link

    I have created an analytic report as a widget for Circ. people to view the changes in our newspapers retention info. At the bottom of the report, there are links such as edit, print, export, etc.

    I would like to have the functionality to remove selective links below the table, specifically the Edit link. No report creator wants to let users of the report to edit the report they created.
