2. Choose which material types can be set to auto-active

   We propose that the "Activate new portfolios associated with service automatically?" setting for portfolios in an electronic service be more granular. In electronic collections that contain multiple material types, we would like to be able to select which material types be activated automatically. We've found the bib records for some material types aren't as good as others, and prefer to obtain them from other sources. But for some material types, such as journals, we would like to the CZ records.

3. SAML authentication for patrons for Resource Sharing

   Currently, when an article or book chapter that a patron requested for has been fulfilled through resource sharing in Alma, the patron receives a document delivery notification letter informing the patron to download the requested article or book chapter. The URL link for SAML authentication for patrons requires SAML to be configured for Alma in addition to Primo VE (See support case 06050447). As Alma is intended for only library staff to login to work, I think it is best not to expose Alma's URL to patrons. Hence, I think that all patron services should be authenticated through Primo VE including picking up for articles and book chapters delivered through resource sharing. And keep authentication for library staff to Alma separate from Primo VE. I have modified the XSL for the document delivery notification letter in Alma as a workaround.

4. Allow User to Customize how many Issues are Predicted.

   Area of concern: Serials Prediction in Alma.

   Currently, Alma’s 853 Predictive Patterns and the 'Open Predicted Items' function, are only capable of predicting an entire year’s worth of serial issues at one time. This is often not ideal, and libraries would benefit from being able to predict more, or fewer issues, as needed.

   What should be changed: As Serials Processors, we would like the option to customize how many issues are predicted at one time. This would benefit the workflow by allowing more issues to quickly be created at once; when retrospectively creating item records for pre-migration issues. It would also benefit the workflow to be able to create fewer issues at once; in order to align all predictions to the same schedule, in order to avoid duplication, or in order to more gradually predict out titles with irregular frequency.

5. Add "Description" to list of available fields in the POL "Ordered Items" section

   In the POL's Summary tab, the "Ordered Items" section near the top has entries for each item received on the order. These entries have the following viewable options by default, presumably drawn from the item record's data fields: Library, Location, Call Number, Copy ID, Summary, and Number of Items. Ex Libris notes that "Description" can't currently be added to this list of selections, even though this is also a field associated with the item, and visible alongside them when viewing the item record itself. Having "Description" also available as an option in the POL would help to provide more information at a glance during the acquisitions process: for example, easily showing which items have been received on standing orders.

6. Provide gender in search results of patron search

   In the Manage Service Patron, when searching for a patron, it would be useful if the search results included the patron's gender (if it’s known) so that library staff can address the right pronoun to the user in front of them and thus avoid misgendering .

7. Auto-tick Notify User box in Request Cancellation dialogue on Alma

   Is there a way to set the ‘notify user’ box within the Request Cancellation dialogue box (Alma) to auto-tick by default? At the moment, the box is blank and we would like to set it up to tick by default so that user notifications don’t accidentally get missed.

8. Please add location field to the subject area "Funds expenditure"

   At the moment the location field is missing in the subject area "Funds expenditure". We need this field for a report for e.g. open orders. It is only possible to create a report on the library level.

9. More Options for the "Pick Up Requested Resources" Window

   It would be great to have even mor configuration options for the pick up requested resources window. (See picture below)
   For example wenn picking up SIA norms, we would like to see such fields like the series number field (field 830) so we don't have to search on in the shelve for the exact norm.

10. Prevent portfolio loader from wiping out local coverage

    Currently, if we use a portfolio loader to update the portfolios in an electronic collection, e.g. to add a standard note in the portfolio internal description field, the loading of the portfolio loader will wipe out the local coverage in the portfolios. The local coverage will be gone but the coverage statement will remain marked "local".

    The portfolio loader I use usually contains only the two columns of ISSN (for matching), and the column of INTERNAL_DESCRIPTION (for adding the note). This is done only for SOME of the portfolios in the collection.

    The work around is to load the portfolio loader again, this time, with the portfolio ID and the local coverage, matching on portfolio ID. Then it can restore the local coverage.

    This has been submitted as a bug. The Support could duplicate the problem, but suggested the above workaround. For libraries who thought their loading was successful, and didn't realize that all the local coverage was cleared out, it would be a disaster.

    Desirable outcome: Alma should only change the values that appear in the portfolio loader, and leave the rest of the data in the portfolios alone. If they are not in the portfolio loaders, that means the users have no intentions of changing them in Alma.

11. Show call number in brief record

    It is possible to configure what is displayed in the brief record however one cannot choose to display the call number.

    It requires more cliks to see where the physical material is to be found. It would be great if one could find the information directly from the result page of a search.

12. Display resource sharing request limit on user record

    When a resource sharing limit is set, display the current number of requests a user has placed in the last academic year. We have users getting failed requests due to hitting the limit, this would make it much easier to troubleshoot.

14. Provide sort order information for AVE (portfolio) fields in BIBs API

    When there are multiple portfolios from the same e-collection associated with the same bib record, the Alma Link Resolver (and Primo) displays them in the same order that they appear in Alma. When AVE (portfolio) information is retrieved using "expand=e_avail" in the BIBs API’s Retrieve Bib or Retrieve Bibs service, the AVE fields are returned in no particular order. AVE fields returned for a particular bib record should include an element giving the sort order of the portfolio within that e-collection, as it appears in Alma. This would allow custom discovery interfaces to display Online Access links in the order the library already specified in Alma, as is done in the Alma Link Resolver and Primo.

15. Restriction for privilege "change due date" is needed: for loaned items within scope: allowed - whereas outside scope restricted

    "For dual layers it would make sense to be able to restrict the privilege "change due date" in CDO-roles for inventory outside own scope. It would be great to be able to allow to change due date only for loaned items whithin scope, but to be able to prevent it for loaned items outside scope. If it were additionally usable via the "circulate for" specification for the libraries for which "my library" is allowed to lend and book back, it would also make sense. It is very unfortunate that "change due date" can currently only be allowed in a role for all holdings (i.e. for both outside and own scope) or prevented for all holdings.

    Small libraries, whose holdings are not charged late fees for late return, and for which the opening days / service cannot be guaranteed, need more flexible handling of their loan periods. Staff working in these small libraries need the privilege to change due date exclusively for own items."

16. Add in the electronic portfolio section the search field by: parser parameter, parser parameter (override), static url.

18. Compare loan due date with partner library's due date to determine renewal

    We have the mediated patron renewal workflow activated for Borrowing Requests. Users often request renewal of interlibrary loans via My Library Account that do not need renewing with the partner library because a further loan period fits within the due date that the partner library has set.
    Currently, staff check these two dates manually and extend the user's due date in their record if a renewal with the partner library isn't necessary.
    However, we would like Alma to have the ability to do this check for us, and automatically extend the user's due date if it is within the partner library's due date. This should be configurable. For example, if we configure that users can 'renew' their interlibrary loan to a Date 1 week prior to the Due Date in the Borrowing request, then when a user clicks 'Renew' in My Library Account, Alma will renew their loan if the calculated due date based on the policy (for us, 4 weeks) is less than the configured date (1 week prior to Partner Library due date). If it will be greater, then it comes to the Mediated Patron Renewal facet for staff to follow-up. The configuration options should include the ability to set a date after the partner library due date ie 1 week after the Borrowing Request Due Date should be a valid configuration option.

19. Display user's loan due date in borrowing request screen

    When a user who has an interlibrary loan requests a renewal of the item, staff need to check both the due date that the partner library has set, and the current due date of the loan on the user's record. This is because we can sometimes extend the due date of the loan without requesting a renewal from the partner library, since the loan due date will still be within the due date that the partner has given us. To do this check, staff need to view the borrowing request (to see the partner library's due date) as well as the user's record to check the current due back date. To make this process quicker and simpler, we would like user's loan due date for the item attached to the borrowing request, to display in the borrowing request screen.

20. SUSHI Account filter and a new filter under the Usage Data tab of the Vendor Details page

    Can the SUSHI Account filter under the Usage Data tab of the Vendor Details page list only the SUSHI Accounts that have been used to harvest usage that particular vendor?

    Also, I think it would be great if we could filter the usage reports under the Usage Data tab of the Vendor Details page by COUNTER release version (4 vs 5).
