Could there be a system alert when you mistakenly record a loan while it is already registered on another patroon account ?
We want to confirm when we record a loan to a patron while the item is already on loan on another patron account.

Asigned_to-tabs optional in resource sharing
Our workflow requires that every member of the resource sharing team can work with all resource sharing requests. Depending on who created or edited a request the request will apear in one of the three asigned_to-tabs. The coworker who needs to edit the request next, has to check all three tabs to find the request. This causes extra work and some irritation for our coworkers. We would like the option to have only one tab, since we really don't need the others.
6 votesHi,
Please note that it is possible to prevent borrowing and lending requests from being automatically assigned by using the rs_disable_borrowing_auto_assign and rs_disable_lending_auto_assign parameters. This way, requests will always remain in the Unassigned tab, unless manually assigned.
See these parameters at https://knowledge.exlibrisgroup.com/Alma/Product_Documentation/010Alma_Online_Help_(English)/030Fulfillment/080Configuring_Fulfillment/110General

De-normalize http & https in searches for urls in Alma
Alma has normalized http & https searching so that it will not distinguish between either in a repository search. Proposing this not be normalized as these are an important part of a URL and need to be found, separate from each other.

Have MMS IDs show up in list view
At present, from a search results list, each title must be clicked for one to find the MMS ID for a title. It would be really helpful if the ID numbers could show up on the front page for quick reference.

History of Transactions
After a transaction (checking out/in material) has been performed, is it possible to access that transaction? There have been numerous occasions where this would be beneficial. This will allow us to access patrons records where information was not written down, but needed, in order to clear a hold or other restrictions that had been placed on their account.

Resource Sharing - display Primary Identifier in Requester pop-up in the Request - Edit
As a librarian processing RS requests, it is useful to be able to see the patron's Primary Identifier when I am editing a request. I can copy this to quickly check a patron's account in Fulfillment.
This information used to be available and is visible in the patron pop-up in the Requests list.
4 votesHi,
The primary ID shows up in both the request form (see https://www.screencast.com/t/ExFVb1dORh5) and the requests list (see https://www.screencast.com/t/r26BrEmpg)

Keyboard shortcut to suppress a record in MD Editor
Much like the keyboard shortcuts for saving and/or releasing a record, a shortcut to suppress (if unsuppressed) a record would be very helpful. A different shortcut to unsuppress would be useful too.
2 votesIn the new MDE, the keyboard shortcut Alt+Shif+S can be used to suppress / unsuppress a record.

Anonymize resource sharing requests when rejected by last partner in rota
A borrowing request that is rejected by partner is considered as a completed resource sharing request, and therefore is included in the anonymization job that deletes user information in a RS requests (Fulfillment job > Anonymize resource sharing requests). This causes several problems for how the BIBSYS Consortium handles resource sharing:
1) A borrowing request that is rejected by partner is not considered as complete in the way the consortium handles resource sharing. Even when the last partner in the rota rejects the request, we still want the borrowing request to be active. If no partner within the consortium can…
3 votesHi,
The March 2018 release includes new options for resource sharing – you can choose whether a resource sharing request will remain in an active status even if it has been rejected by the resource sharing partner. Update exchange rates more often
The exchange rates for foreign currency invoices are not updated very often. I understand that the Alma network team manually update them weekly or less often. It would be better for consistent financial reporting if the exchange rates were linked to an international standard or at least give libraries the ability to update the exchange rates manually every day themselves. The out-of-date exchange rates are causing massive reconciliation headaches with the Finance department as we try to work out how many thousands of dollars are out of synch. Alma Analytics is only as good as the data it collates and…

Ability to suppress the structure of a Digital Collection from Discovery (Primo)
When a Collection is created in Alma the structure is visible in Discovery (Primo). We would like to suppress from Discovery the structure of a Collection in Alma. For example, we've created a Collection for which the structure is internal. We don't want to make it visible or accessible by users. As an example, please check out the Collection Discovery page: http://labordoc.ilo.org/primo_library/libweb/action/collectionDiscovery.do?menuitem=5&vid=41ILO_V1&colayout=grid&inst=41ILO
The collection we want to suppress from Discovery is “ILO Digital Inventory”. To manage collections internally and control what is being visible in Discovery may be useful to other Libraries. If only Alma could have a box that…1 vote -
Toggle cancelled borrowing requests in a "terminated" status
Borrowing request can be cancelled by staff or by patrons. This happens fairly frequently.
Now the problem is that cancelled borrowing requests stay "active". This creates a lot of noise in the list of active borrowing requests. RS staff has begun to delete the cancelled borrowing requests in order for them to only see the really active ones. This of course has a consequence on Analytics. I am unable to know how many borrowing requests were cancelled because they don't exist any more.
So ideally, cancelled borrowing requests would keep their cancelled status, but have an activity status of terminated…

Sort Order option in ALMA for file list displayed in Primo for a Digital Representation
For files attached to a Digital Representations, provide an option in ALMA to choose a sort order for how these files display in the U-Resolver in Primo.
This would allow a scenario where the year could be placed at the start of each label (for multiple files in a series) and a choice made in ALMA to display the sort order in Primo so that the file for most recent year is at top of list. In this scenario, the current fixed sort order places the most recent file at bottom of U-Resolver list (which means it can potentially drop…3 votes -
API query to retrieve only those user accounts where active fines/fees exist
We want to export user fine/fee data to our SIS (PeopleSoft) while retaining the ability to manage patron fine/fees in Alma. The Alma bursar export does not meet our needs because it closes out the fine/fees in Alma. The user API only allows for checking accounts individually to determine whether a fine/fee exists. The 'users' query does not provide a filter for whether a fine/fee is on the retrieved user's account.
11 votesThe Export User Blocks action in the Users Integration Profile ? This action is used to export users that should be blocked due to unpaid fines. It can be used to routinely export a list of users that owe more than a given amount.

Default pickup location in direct requesting
In Direct Requesting, have the default pickup location be the PATRON'S home library OR have the default be BLANK. Right now, the default is the ITEM'S location. If the default is accepted, the patron may have to travel some distance to pick up the item.
16 votesSee July 2017 Release Notes -
“A new customer parameter, ful_network_default_pickup_inst, controls the initial value of the pickup institution field in a fulfillment network request form.
*If the parameter’s value is set to blank, the initial value of the pickup institution is blank.
*If the parameter’s value is set to patron, the initial value is set to the patron’s institution, meaning that linked account users will show the patron’s source institution.
*If the parameter’s value is set to local, the initial value is set to the local institution, as it has been in the past. This is the default."

Decrease time allowed between duplicate resource sharing requests
Currently, there is a forced 10 minute wait time before submitting duplicate resource sharing requests for the same title. We very often have patrons requesting multiple parts of a set that requires library staff to submit additional requests on behalf of the patron. Having a 10 minute wait time between requests is unreasonable and a significant waste of staff time to input requests. A request for six volumes of a set will take a staff member at least 50 minutes to submit all requests, if the requests are timed and spaced evenly.
The threshold for blocking duplicate requests should be…
78 votesDo note that requesting the same title but with a different volume, chapter, pages or note is allowed without having to wait. This is intended to allow requesting multiple parts without having to wait.

Expand the options for UG student body size in new comparative analytics
In the new comparative analytics option (announced in the December 2016 release notes), could the options for the UG student body size be expanded to include higher student counts? The Open University is surely not the only institution that has more than 20,000 UG students?

Allow for format de-duplicating in YBP Real Time Ordering
When we were testing the Real-Time Integration between YBP and Alma, we found that if we own either the print or electronic format, but we receive a request for the other format, the order attaches to the existing bib, even if it is in the wrong format. In these cases, if the format is different, what should happen is that the system should create a new brief MMS record for the order's format. I've been told that adding additional matchpoints to prevent this would have to be an enhancement request. As YBP has told me that three other libraries also…

Allow multiple collections when adding a digital representation
Allow multiple collections when adding a digital representation
By now, when you add a digital representation, you can only choose and add one collection in the process (radio buttons instead of check boxes). If you want to have the digital representations attributed to different collections you need to add the representation afterwards by choosing Manage > Collections > Add Title. It would be very time saving if you could attribute multiple collections to a digital representation in the process of adding a digital representation.

Default of "partial" for Digitization Request Form
We primarily get digitization requests for book chapters or journal articles. We would like to have the option to set the Digitization Request Form so that it by default opens with the "partial" box checked. this would simplify requests for patrons and make the workflow less inefficient due to "bad" requests.

Ability to delete a CZ linked portfolio from Repository Search>Portfolio list
It would save a lot of time and clicks if it was possible to delete a CZ-linked portfolio from within the repository search, rather than having to identify the portfolio, open it, click on the collection name, then click on 'Additional information', Service, Portfolio list, search for the portfolio again and then click on the delete option from here. We would rather use this for ebooks than simply 'deactivate' as inactive portfolios are still retrieved in a repository search, which causes confusion about what we exactly have access to.
59 votesThe functionality is already supported.
It is possible to delete a CZ linked portfolio from the Electronic Portfolio search results.
We will update the documentation to reflect the above.
