  1. Make requests in status “expired” act like any other request with the same list of actions

Requests that have ended up with the status and “expired” end up in the “closed” sets, but we still need to work with them. We don’t want the request to be cancelled and the patron to be notified automatically because there still might be something we can do with them. We might find an additional email partner to send one of these requests to that the system doesn’t know about, we might find a better ISBN or OCLC number to send it out on, or we might find that the request is the wrong type and we need to change…

  2. Add the ability to create exclusionary sets in Rapido

We need the ability to create sets in Rapido based on "does not include" criteria. For instance: a set of all active lending requests where the borrowing library is NOT "Library X". This would help libraries that have different sets of lending rules for certain partner libraries (likely a common issue for libraries that are part of consortia).

  3. Multiple Letter/Notice Versions and Ability to Associate to Institution or Pod by Location

Our institution has two Rapido fulfillment scenarios.

    1. Pick from shelf to lend material to a library on our consortial courier route.

    2. Pick from shelf and 'band' (or removable label) and ship via postal mail to requesting out-of-state libraries.

Our student workers do our pick from shelf and sorting, so need to know from the pick from shelf slip whether the item goes into the courier bin or to the area of the library that handles shipping.

It would be a pretty bad error for an item intended for a distant library to land in the courier bin. Less so (though …

  4. Stacking requests functionality for scanning items

We will occasionally receive multiple digitization requests from the same item from the same school or from different schools. The issue is that Alma only writes one request to the pick from shelf at a time. This would work for physical requests, but for digital scan requests, its not the most efficient workflow.

For example we receive two requests, one for chapter 2 and one for chapter 3 - whether they go to the same or different schools is not relevant.

    The current workflow is:
    a. request writes to pick from shelf
    b. staff retrieves item from the shelf
    c.…

  5. Ability to change/correct due dates for RapidILL requests processed through Rapido.

As an ILL staff member, I would like to be able to change the due dates for RapidILL requests processed through Rapido so that I can correct due dates when necessary. Sometimes staff or student workers incorrectly enter the due date or the system assigns an incorrect due date. At present, there is no way to fix this.

  6. Convert to Resource Sharing should not be an option on the pick from shelf, when the item is a lending request from another school.

Convert to Resource Sharing should not be an option on the pick from shelf, when the item is a lending request from another school.

As we understand it, "Ship Digitally" requests should be Cancelled and "Patron digitization requests" should be Converted. However, requests in the pick from shelf lists don't show this distinction and both "Cancel" and "Convert" are options in the row action. To minimize confusion, we would prefer to gray out or hide the "Convert" option for a Ship Digitally? request.

We've been telling staff to try to Convert first, and if they get an error, then go…

  7. Field on Borrowing Request form for non-Rapido lending library's identifier (TN number ILL number, etc.)

Idea: Create a field on the borrowing request form for the "Lender's Identifier". This field would either map from an ISO Illiad request (or other request), or be keyed in by the borrower when receiving or externally ordering a physical item. The lender's identifier in these cases would be the "Illiad TN number" or "OCLC Request ID" as a couple of examples. This field would also appear in the receive workflow.
It would also be beneficial to have this field included on the Resource Sharing Return Slip Letter in case the lender's paperwork goes missing. This will help facilitate a…
