For institutions with multiple users create a syncing system
Allow institutions to create accounts on behalf of users via Google.
Instead of having users create an account, admins simply provide users with the login and password for their account.

It would be helpful if we could hide certain fields for manual input of references. Either that or make the default forms simpler.
It would be helpful if we could hide certain fields for manual input of references. Many of the fields are not used on a regular basis. Could we have the option of moving fields to the "Add More Fields" button?

create an output style with sub-citations (see style Angewandte Chemie International)
We need that Refworks support the sub-citation feature for the in-text citation and the reference list. There are many styles with this feature, Angewandte Chemie International... And a lot of science journals require this formatting.

Include ISSN/ISBN in Publication admin analytics
Add ISSN/ISBN column to the reports when downloaded. This will better enable librarians to use this data to analyze their collections, a common reason for having these reports at all. This may cause splintering of counts if users imported different ISNs for the same title (especially print vs e) but it would be worth that side effect to have the data. If you can provide separate print and e columns that would be ideal.

Reference editing - Increase the sidebar window size
My suggestion is for the referenced editing sidebar window. Can we increase the size of this side window? Why not give the user more room to see and view what they are editing? I know for myself, I'd like to have the ability to increase or decrease the width of the edit sidebar window.

Citation in text with continuous notes (ISO 690) used in books
I would like to see RCM (Refworks Citation Manager) incorporate the option to use numerical citation with continuous notes, which is widely used in books. As permitted by Standard ISO 690
"The numbers inserted in the text (in parentheses, brackets or superscripts) refer to notes, numbered according to the order of appearance in the text. Notes may contain references to cited resources. If there are several citations of the same resource, they will be given separate note numbers. "
Now it isn´t possible

Field mapping and labeling - motion picture
In the Video reference type the labels ‘Studio Location’ and ‘Distributer/Studio’ are used. However, in the Motion Picture reference type, instead of ‘Studio Location’ the label ‘Place of Publication’ is used.
This is confusing for students. Can the label be modified by RefWorks or alternatively is there a way to customise it locally for our institutional style?
There is also a strange mapping issue between Motion Picture and DVD:
- If you have a record in ‘Video’ ref type format and change it to ‘Motion Picture’, you have to do delete ‘Medium’ and then add it again (otherwise it does…1 vote -
Customizable order of fields in a citation's edit pane
We had an inquiry/feedback request regarding the order of fields that appear in the RefWorks edit pane.
Is it possible to re-order/re-organize the order of the editable fields based on individual personal preference?
I.e., if a user would like to view their Notes field prior to viewing Tags in an individual resource, they would be able to re-sort the fields as appropriate to promote Notes.

Allow to use Apple pen on iPad for highlighting and annotation
Please allow to use Apple pen on iPad for highlighting and annotation. :) This would make your app much for attractive compared to Zotero, currently its only advantage over yours and with this functionality I wouldn't have to pay for extra storage every year.

Ordering of references in folders compared to in Bibliography
Please can it be made possible to order references in a folder in the same order as a bibliography.
I wanted to view the references in a Refworks folder in the same order that they were supplied by the bibliography function.
I tried ordering them in the folder by "publication date" but this didn't seem to provide the same order.1 vote -
Please make 'personal notes' visible in full and searchable (as in Legacy).
One of the main attractions of Legacy was being able to save extensive notes in Personal Notes which could then be read at a later date and searched by word or name using the search box. For example, if I wanted to find everything that contained the term 'Reformation', I could put that into the search and find every thing I had read which discussed that term in some way. The new system no longer allows this kind of search nor does it show anything except the first line of the notes. This is a MAJOR disadvantage and makes Refworks…

Allow the option of Advanced search in Public folder shared
For many years we have been using a shared public folder that contains the publications of our Institute's researchers.
In the previous version of Refworks, the Advanced Search option was present in the public shared folder which allowed you to search for references of interest (for example: references by Year of publication/Document type/Department-custom field) and then quickly create the bibliography and/or export only the recovered references.
The shared public folder in New Refworks only has the "Search" option.
Please add the option Advanced search.1 vote -
Add option to include publication field in a repeated reference when author unkown
In the Footnotes Settings in the citation style editor, there is an option to "Show only author, title & cited pages" for a repeated reference. This is great!
However, in Chicago Notes & Bibliography style, when the citation for an unsigned newspaper article is repeated (for example), the shortened citation should also include the publication.
For example, this reference would be initially cited as such:
"Number of Out-of-Wedlock Births a Record," Hartford Courant, November 26, 2006.
But the shortened note should read:
"Number," Hartford Courant.
Can you add an option to include the publication field when there is…

Increase number of results we can export at a time from 1000 to at least 1500 or 2000.
Increase number of results we can export at a time from 1000 to at least 1500 or 2000. When doing systematic reviews for people, there are often large numbers of results and at the moment the absolute limit is 1000 (even though we can view 2000 results). Otherwise we need to send the results in separate files which is extremely time consuming as well as inconvenient both for us and the users.

Make more author name flexibility possible!
Currently, anything that does not follow a strict last-first name format doesn't work in Refworks. (E.g. the citation manager can't handle "Paul VI" as an author.) This seems like it would be so easy to fix by the use of quotation marks or some other indicator to keep the formatting as it is typed by the user. The entire world doesn't strictly follow Western-style naming traditions....

Make save button more prominent
It would be great if the save button on the reference information editing screen was more prominent. For example, it could be a different color, like blue. Right now it is hard to find and I accidentally click the x button at the top instead, which means I lose my work. You could also add a window that asks if you want to save when you click the x button. Thank you.
