  1. "Refine Your Search" improvement with OR search

It would be useful to be able to narrow down "Refine Your Search" items by multiplying high priority items by OR search. For example, it would be good to be able to narrow down the search to only those contents that fall under either "Library Catalog" OR "Full Text Online". Currently, when all items in "Refine Your Search" are checked, they are narrowed down by AND search.

  2. Topic explorer enable when advanced search.

Using advanced search, topic explorer is not displayed now.
I think it will be convinient if topic explorer is display when we using advanced search too.

  4. Match & Merge catalog with IR

I would like if possible to match & merge records from different sources: Library Catalog and Institution Repository (Dspace) to have only 1 record in Summon with 2 availability options.

  5. Index the Journal of Clinical Ethics at the article level

I've been receiving reports from users that note linking to specific articles in the Journal of Clinical Ethics via Summon is currently problematic. The article links in Summon will bring users to the latest issue of appropriate journal, but not to the article specified.

Here’s four examples that have been noted:
De Vries, RG, Paruchuri, Y, Lorenz, K & Vedam, S (2013) Moral Science: Ethical Argument and the Production of Knowledge about Place of Birth, Journal of Clinical Ethics, 24:3, 225-38.

Howe, EG (2013) When a Mother Wants to Deliver with a Midwife at Home, Journal of Clinical Ethics, 24:3,…

  6. Add OSCOLA as a referencing output option

We have a Law school who use OSCOLA (https://www.law.ox.ac.uk/research-subject-groups/publications/oscola) as their referencing style.
Would any other Summon users find it helpful if this referencing style could be added to the output options?

  7. Move Cites/Cited by data to the right pane "custom panel"

In order to reduce patron confusion, I would like see the Cites/Cited by information to be displayed in the right-hand pane. This would reduce confusion and allow patrons to see their search results simultaneously with citations. Additionally, I would retain the title of the result on which I clicked.

This makes functionality more similar to "Related Items"

  8. Allow filtering of UnPaywall and Open Access Button results on Link Resolver

360 Link should allow filtering of the Unpaywall and Open Access button results so that libraries can choose which versions to display. This would allow us to display only peer-reviewed results. Both services return version information in their API. Our library would like to use this open access button feature, but we need to be able to filter the results.

  9. Enable DOI search for not CrossRef DOI

360 Link can search content by DOI published by CrossrRef.
But DOI published by other institute (e.g. JaLC) is not searchable.
So please enable DOI Search for not CrossRef DOI.

  10. Add ResearchWorks Archive to 360KB

    Hello,

We are interested in having ResearchWorks Archive added to the knowledge base.

ResearchWorks Archive is the University of Washington's digital repository (also known as "institutional repository") for disseminating scholarly work. More information about ResearchWorks can be found on the Scholarly Publishing Services page. (https://lib.washington.edu/scholpub/scholarly-publishing-services/researchworks)

We are specifically hoping to have the following OA title added to the knowledge base:

Title: Cross-Cultural Communication in Early Modern Russia: Foreign News in Context
    URL: https://doi.org/10.6069/XCSQ-BF71

    Thanks,

  11. Ability to add custom pre-set publication date to facets, e.g. "Ten years".

It is currently possible to use pre-set publication filters in the Publication Date facet, with "Last 12 months", "3 years" and "5 years" as options. However, it would be useful to toggle, i.e. both add and remove, pre-set publication filters for this facet in the Summon admin centre for Search Results and Advanced Search.

  12. Responsive Design layout : Opting out of Topic Explorer for Single Column displays (cell phones)

When using Summon on a cell phone with Topic Explorer, Wikipedia (when enabled) is on top - appearing to be the "number one" result. While having this in a side column is fine, we'd rather not have it so promonent on smaller screens.

  13. Add ability to share via SMS items in "Saved Items" folders

Please add the ability to share via SMS items saved to "Saved Items" folders, (either temporary or permanent folders). Right now it seems we are limited to using Print and Email. SMS would be helpful for quick transactions, and finding items in the physical collection.

See this support page and the attached mockup image for more detail.

  16. I would like Summon to have the functionality to connect to Endnote via Z39.50 allowing users to search all our resources.

I would like Summon to have the functionality to connect to Endnote via Z39.50 allowing users to search all our resources. Currently, we can only set up a connection to our Voyager catalog in EndNote, and our Voyager catalog does not have records for all the journals and databases we subscribe to.

  18. Correcting Status of "online-first" Citations

Aggregators, such as EBSCOhost, post articles on their websites only after the publisher adds the content in a journal issue. However, they do not take this information into account when providing their coverage dates.

Because of this issue, citations in Summon for such "online-first" articles (such as the ones at https://www.tandfonline.com/action/showAxaArticles?journalCode=tsri20) may link to an error message if the institution subscribes to the journal via an aggregator and not the publisher.

Since "online-first" records have a publication (SSID) and a publication date, if you subscribe to the journal and the article publication date falls within your dates of coverage,…

  19. Idea for changing the results of the 360 API's calling to sort of order to the most recent first .

As the reaction to the release on 3rd Nov 2021 which has been provided on EJP, I'm suggesting of changing the results of the 360 API's calling to sort of order to the most recent

Because it become more usable if the platform which using this 360 API could display the databases with the most recent coverage first.

  20. Support subscriptions with embargoes or rolling cutoff dates

Right now, if a database collection you subscribe to includes journal date ranges like "to X years ago" Summon/CDI doesn't recognize the cut off date and simply includes the whole subscription up to present in your search index even though the articles are not accessible. When you click a link, it's up to the content provider to determine how to handle the incoming link. ProQuest Research Library, for instance, will not even show you the citation record, but a search error instead. Ideally, CDI would be intelligent enough to handle these rolling cutoff dates and only include recent articles as…
