  1. Summon topics should yield Credo topics--not just Credo articles--when relevant

For example, a Summon search on "cyberbullying" in our instance retrieves the Credo article "Taking on the School Bullies." The Credo topic page "Cyberbullying" is more relevant, but Ex Libris reports, "Showing the Credo topic page is out of scope for the topics feature."

I would like Summon topics to retrieve Credo topics results, especially when they're more relevant than Credo article results.

  2. Make Summon support Baidu for search history function

Summon added search history function on May release 2018, which is great. The data is stored in Google. Unfortunately, Google is not working in China. so could you add the capability of supporting Baidu (the largest search engine vendor in China)?

Baidu supports oauth 2.0. Here is the online doc:

  3. Usability of Advanced Search

Certain elements of the advanced search screen are very difficult to use on mobile devices, particularly the 'Content type' and 'Discipline' multiple check-box options, where scrolling through a long list is problematic.
Is there a way to improve this, perhaps by using a larger pop-out box that can be scanned at a glance?

  4. Add the ability to reflect access frequency to relevancy ranking

A mechanism that automatically takes records from databases with high access frequency to the top of the search results preferentially.

  5. Add the ability to accept online payments, for example fines, via WPM on Summon over Alma

Currently there is no option to accept online payments with instances of Summon over Alma (unlike Primo over Alma). This ability would enable us to improve our self service functionality.

  6. Include the journal impact factor in the results display

To help our students judge the quality of the results it would be good if the journal's impact factor could be displayed in the results. Or even better, provided as a sorting or limiting option so that students could view results in those journals with the highest impact factor, in the same way they can limit by peer review. Although impact factors are not a perfect tool, it would help get the message across that not all journals are equal. This feature would probably need to be restricted to those libraries with a subscription to JCR.

  7. Expanding the Credo content connected to records used by Summon Topic Explorer.

Credo has content that should be showing up in the Topic Explorer box, but it's not because that content isn't connected to the records Summon searches for Topic Explorer content.

  8. Retrieve similar documents using the native 'MoreLikeThis' Lucene feature

Lucene's 'MoreLikeThis' feature retrieves similar documents based on a seed, which can be either a piece of text, or an already retrieved document (syntax-free search).

  9. Primo Style Search Profile

We would love to see a feature similar to the Primmo Search Profile (https://knowledge.exlibrisgroup.com/Primo/ProductDocumentation/PrimoVE/010ConfiguringSearchProfiles) included in Summon. As a Summon over Alma customer, we would love to more easily be able to link out to WorldCat, highlight our Course Reserves, and more.

  10. Higher relevance for local language and English

At Swedish universities, both English and Swedish is used, but not really other language (unless, of course, you study that language). I guess this situation is quite common in several countries - items in English + in the local language are welcome, but items in other languages should be ranked lower.
Example: If we search for "Manuel Castells", our books in Swedish by this author are ranked much lower than, for instance, articles in Spanish about the author.

  12. Make OA Content excludable

Right now you can include OA content, which we like. But can we make a way to exclude it for the users who get confused when they expect to see an article and (for most OA articles) are dropped at the home page of the website?

  13. Initiate Best Bets from the Resource.

It would be simpler to add a check-box for Best Bet and text box to insert the description to the resource activation, than to enter that same information separately. Also, the Best Bet would then use the same version of the URL that the link resolver uses, and it would be updated when that URL changes in the Knowledge base.

  14. Add geographic facet to the results page

The ability to limit the search on the results page with a geographic subject facet. This would allow users to search within their results for items on regional specific items.

  15. multi-site support

We are based on 2 physical sites but due to subscription costs and specialisms of some resources, a number of our e-journals are restricted to one site. (the majority are now 2-site licences) - we have included all of them in summmon. Currently these resources show in the Summon search results but users on the other site just get dead links. We would like to be able to record these when we select them for the knowledgebase so users from the non-subscribing site just get a message saying to contact the library whilst users from the subscribing site get full…

  17. When bibliographical records contain two edition statements show both in the results list

I would like to suggest that when bibliographical records contain two edition statements (e.g. Eighth edition and international edition) in separate 250 fields, that both appear in the record in the Summon results list

  18. Integrate RightFind API to show article sharing rights in Summon search results

We suggest integration of the RightFind API as an available feature in Summon, so that the RightFind sharing information becomes directly viewable in the Summon search result for articles, journals and books.

  19. Journal information appearing condensed in Summon (spacing is needed)

The journal information that shows on our Bib records appears condensed in Summon. It would be helpful to have the information separated with a blank line and the word "location" in bold. If bolding can not be done, a new line between the locations would be very helpful.

  20. Print PDA

PDA is on the increase so it is essential that Summon can integrate for both PRINT and Electronic PDA.

Print PDA are currently records from Library Management System however Summon only links to Catalogue which is too many steps. Solution would be to link to PDA Request form directly from the Summon Record.
