Allow Library-External tags to be configured in 'Instructor Rollover Operations'
In the new UI, we can configure settings for list duplication/rollover, including citation tags. But currently there are only parameters for Instructor-Library tags, Library-Internal tags and Public tags.
Library-External tags are not included in this config table and when I asked in a support call I was advised these tags do not copy over and I should raise an Idea to ask for them to be added.
Please add a parameter for Library-External tags; it is inconsistent to allow us to configure all other tags but have no control over these. Currently our tags that indicate 'Electronic Unavailable' (indicating we…

Show 'other editions available' to students
We have a large network of libraries, often with different editions of the same title. Unfortunately on Leganto, there isn't anything that would alert students to other editions of the same work being available to them in another library (often a college library, in our case, or other faculty libraries). This option does appear, after a fashion, in Library view (Full details -> related items -> other versions). It would be very helpful for there to be an alert on a citation in student view which would let a student know that although edition X only has one copy, there…

Have notification for "New comment was added to library discussion for item" link to the item in question
In the Leganto notification system, the notification for "A new item was added to a list" provides links to both the relevant reading list and item, but the notification for "New comment was added to library discussion for item" only points to the list, not to the specific item that was commented on. Our instructors would appreciate being able to navigate directly to the relevant item/citation.

Display tags and student notes in same screen as item availability when viewing full citation details
If you navigate to a reading list citation via Alma using ‘View in Leganto’, this opens the citation in the full screen, and you cannot see tags or notes unless you click ‘Item Actions’. If you open the citation by clicking ‘full details’ when scrolling through Leganto in list view, the same is true that you need to click ‘Item Actions’ to see this information, but the citation does not open in full screen and the list view is still present on the left with some tagging/context visible, which mitigates it somewhat but is still not great.
I would love…

NUI Include publication year with citation information
Including the publication year in the citation information on the landing page would enable librarians and students to identify the latest edition.
The publication year is currently visible in the expanded view, when you click on the citation.

New UI - allow institutions to hide "Hide from students/student note/due date" from *all* citation views
In the June 2024 release we were given the option to hide the "Hide from students/student note/due date" (in any combination) from the quick edit view of a citation. But, regardless of the setting you choose, all the options are still visible in the full details/citation URL view of a citation.
We would like to hide the "Hide from students" option everywhere to stop instructors from hiding citations. We find that instructors forget to unhide items, or don't unhide them in enough time for students to access items (especially disabled students who need time to request alternative formats).
We'd like…

‘Other Formats and Editions’ in student view
We would like all editions of a book to be visible to students, similar to the function ‘Other Formats and Editions’. Ideally, they would have accessible links to display these editions in our Library catalogue.

Default to "All Lists" in main search box
We would like our users' landing page to be My Lists but the search at the top to default to ALL (instead of default search to My Lists).
69 votesWe have made changes to the list search behavior. Now, for My lists tab the search is closed by default. It is open for the All lists tab. Please open a new idea if you believe further changes are required.

Additional brief citation information for instructors - New UI
Can the brief citation view for Instructors in the new Leganto UI be made the same as the student view, where all citation details are visible? Currently if there are multiple editions of the same book, or material with very similar titles it is very hard to quickly tell them apart as only the title is visible. If a new instructor has to review an existing reading list, it takes them much more time in the new UI as they have to open each citation to see complete details.
This also affects processing staff who work in Leganto, who are…

Enhance Browzine integration to add journal covers as citation thumbnails
The Leganto Browzine integration currently only supports the full text linking functionality. One of the other features of Browzine is the ability to display journal covers. In Leganto we frequently find that journal covers are not available from the out of the box service and the users see a generic thumbnail image instead. This reduces the visual appeal of Leganto.
This idea is to enhance the current Browzine integration to retrieve journal covers when they are not available from the Leganto out of the box service. By enhancing the Browzine integration we will see more journal covers for article and…

Adding tags from Cite it
Currently there is no way to add tags at the same time as you create a citation from Cite it. You have to first add the citation to the list, then open the list, find the citation and finally add tags. This is a cumbersome and inefficient process that could be improved.
Cite it has other features that allow you to add public notes, due dates and creative commons licenses to your citations. These features are not as widely used as tags, but they are available at the time of creating a citation. Having the ability to add tags at…

Change visibility of the availability of physical copies for instructors
New interface: The visibility of the availability of physical copies is different according to the role of the user. Surprisingly, the visibility of the instructor or librarian role is less complete than the visibility of the guest or student role.
Also, when you are librarian or instructor, you are unavailable to see easily the availability of physical items. You see the text "Physical item" but this is not a link, and you have to do a lot of non-intuitive clicks to finish how many items we have or where they are. It is possible that there is no physical element…17 votesThis has been resolved. Instructors and library staff now see the physical availability in the same way as students in the new UI.

Suggest Replacement feature - display availability and request options for instructor
There should be an easy way for an instructor to place a hold request (for physical – if allowed by the institution) or access full-text (for ebooks) on the suggested replacement for a citation. Currently, when there is a replacement suggestion, the instructor can only see the title metadata and approve or decline the suggestion. There’s no easy way for the instructor to get access to the suggested item. This is important when the instructor hasn’t yet seen the new edition and needs to review the content before finalising their reading list.

Display Public Access Model message in Leganto
At UNSW, we use portfolio’s Public Access Model to indicate if an eBook has unlimited or restricted access. The same message also shows in Primo so users are aware of the conditions before accessing eBooks.
We believe the information will also benefit our Leganto users, but unfortunately, the message doesn’t display in Leganto, so we would like to propose the idea of displaying the Public Access Model message in Leganto.
We raised a case with Ex Libris, but they said it is not part of their current development work plan.

Configure default status for Library Physical Digitization requests
When working with citations, we would like the ability to configure the default status when a Library Physical Digitization request has been submitted.
Parameters available via the Course Reserves Automatic Statuses mapping table allow default statuses to be assigned for resource sharing requests and purchasing requests. Could an additional parameter be added for Library Physical Digitization requests?

Customize and/or hide out-of-the-box publishing statuses
The publishing statuses are many and confusing.
An institution rarely uses more than two. We would like to be able to:
- hide the irrelevant statuses, to avoid them being selected by librarian and instructors
- customize the names of the statuses to make them clearer.Use case: one of our institutions decided on a specific status for all faculties/departments, with the exception of one department that wants lists to be more restricted. The publishing status for this specific department could be customized with the department name.
4 votesYou can customize which publishing statuses appear in the Leganto UI as of the September 2024 release.

'No List Expected' to show in Leganto
Really like the 'No list expected' feature in ALMA, but it would be even better if it reflected in Leganto as well for the user.
So if this is checked in ALMA, in Leganto it would state something like 'There is no Reading List for the course by design' to differentiate from ones where the List is still in 'Draft' or hasn't been created / has been un-associated or deleted (possibly by accident).

Search field to look up lists to copy sections to
When copying a section, one can choose which reading list the section will be copied to. This solution makes difficult for staff enrolled on a large number of lists, as the correct list to move the section to can then fall off the drop down menu. Instead of a dropdown menu we would like a search field so that staff can look up the list instead, the same way one can look up courses when associating a list to a course.

Add "keep both" option for citation replacement (new edition) feature
The new feature (April 2023) could be used for suggesting alternative titles not just newer editions.
There use cases where the instructor wants to retain the current item and the suggested item.
A "keep both" button that inserts the suggested item into the list immediately after the current item would enhance this new feature.

Allow instructors to set a course as deliberately having no reading list
After the Jan 2023 release, a course can be marked as deliberately having no reading list in Alma (NERS 2022 #7744).
However there is no way for instructors to set this flag by themselves which would be a logical and convenient way of adding this information which the Library itself would not necessarily know itself from year-to-year or term to term.
It would also allow the Library to promote the flagging of courses as not requiring a list each year.Instead, instructors have to contact the Library to set it on their behalf which creates extra work.
We would like…
