NUI Include publication year with citation information
Including the publication year in the citation information on the landing page would enable librarians and students to identify the latest edition.
The publication year is currently visible in the expanded view, when you click on the citation.

Additional brief citation information for instructors - New UI
Can the brief citation view for Instructors in the new Leganto UI be made the same as the student view, where all citation details are visible? Currently if there are multiple editions of the same book, or material with very similar titles it is very hard to quickly tell them apart as only the title is visible. If a new instructor has to review an existing reading list, it takes them much more time in the new UI as they have to open each citation to see complete details.
This also affects processing staff who work in Leganto, who are…

Enhance Browzine integration to add journal covers as citation thumbnails
The Leganto Browzine integration currently only supports the full text linking functionality. One of the other features of Browzine is the ability to display journal covers. In Leganto we frequently find that journal covers are not available from the out of the box service and the users see a generic thumbnail image instead. This reduces the visual appeal of Leganto.
This idea is to enhance the current Browzine integration to retrieve journal covers when they are not available from the Leganto out of the box service. By enhancing the Browzine integration we will see more journal covers for article and…

Adding tags from Cite it
Currently there is no way to add tags at the same time as you create a citation from Cite it. You have to first add the citation to the list, then open the list, find the citation and finally add tags. This is a cumbersome and inefficient process that could be improved.
Cite it has other features that allow you to add public notes, due dates and creative commons licenses to your citations. These features are not as widely used as tags, but they are available at the time of creating a citation. Having the ability to add tags at…

Change visibility of the availability of physical copies for instructors
New interface: The visibility of the availability of physical copies is different according to the role of the user. Surprisingly, the visibility of the instructor or librarian role is less complete than the visibility of the guest or student role.
Also, when you are librarian or instructor, you are unavailable to see easily the availability of physical items. You see the text "Physical item" but this is not a link, and you have to do a lot of non-intuitive clicks to finish how many items we have or where they are. It is possible that there is no physical element…17 votesThis has been resolved. Instructors and library staff now see the physical availability in the same way as students in the new UI.

Configure default status for Library Physical Digitization requests
When working with citations, we would like the ability to configure the default status when a Library Physical Digitization request has been submitted.
Parameters available via the Course Reserves Automatic Statuses mapping table allow default statuses to be assigned for resource sharing requests and purchasing requests. Could an additional parameter be added for Library Physical Digitization requests?

'No List Expected' to show in Leganto
Really like the 'No list expected' feature in ALMA, but it would be even better if it reflected in Leganto as well for the user.
So if this is checked in ALMA, in Leganto it would state something like 'There is no Reading List for the course by design' to differentiate from ones where the List is still in 'Draft' or hasn't been created / has been un-associated or deleted (possibly by accident).

Search field to look up lists to copy sections to
When copying a section, one can choose which reading list the section will be copied to. This solution makes difficult for staff enrolled on a large number of lists, as the correct list to move the section to can then fall off the drop down menu. Instead of a dropdown menu we would like a search field so that staff can look up the list instead, the same way one can look up courses when associating a list to a course.

Add "keep both" option for citation replacement (new edition) feature
The new feature (April 2023) could be used for suggesting alternative titles not just newer editions.
There use cases where the instructor wants to retain the current item and the suggested item.
A "keep both" button that inserts the suggested item into the list immediately after the current item would enhance this new feature.

Change the message students see when clicking an LTI link if a course deliberately has no reading list
When students click an LTI link for a course with no reading list associated, they currently see a message saying that there is no reading list for the module. This message also displays even when the course has been marked as deliberately having no reading list.
This means students do not know whether there is deliberately no reading list, or whether one should be expected, and they have to contact their tutor or the Library to find out, causing needless confusion.
We would like the text of the message to be different if there is deliberately no reading list, so…

Secure access to restricted image files via the thumbnail
Guest users are able to access restricted image files via the thumbnail.
When the institution has specifically restricted access to files, then guest users should not be able to view or download the file.
However, for images, Leganto creates a thumbnail which is visible to guests. Worse than this, if the user right clicks the thumbnail they can then view or save the image file.
This is a breach of the security configuration and may infringe copyright or permissions for use of the image.
We would expect that for guests (or signed-in users who are restricted (eg. not a student…

Move multiple citations to another section on a reading list
When editing/updating reading lists, it would be useful to be able to move multiple items to another section of a reading list in bulk, for example by updating the 'Edit Multiple Items' function to include a move action, alongside a dropdown for the user to be able to select which section to move the citations to.

Option to link Leganto citation metadata to Alma/Primo bibliographic data
Bibliographic metadata for books is often improved in Alma/Primo after a citation has been created in Leganto. We would like the option to link the citation metadata from Alma/Primo so that when Alma/Primo metadata is updated, the Leganto citation metadata would be updated also.
62 votesAs of the May 2024 release it is possible to schedule manual jobs. You can use the Reading List Citation Update Task to Synchronize Citations with Repository, including updating the citation metadata when the bibliographic record is updated.

Language as part of a citation - duplicate
This is a duplicate of an existing Idea. The original Idea has status Accepted, but Ex Libris will not implement this without some more traction of the idea. You can't vote for an Idea with status Accepted, thus a duplicate.
We would like that the language of the document to be part of the citations. In a non-english speaking country as Norway there are political interest to see how much of the reading are in Norwegian and how much that are in other languages.
Language is a part of the records in Alma, and also for the records that are…

Email notification function for mark as broken
I'm writing about Leganto's "mark as broken" feature.
Since it is difficult for librarians to notice when a user marks as broken, we request a function that sends email notifications in real time.38 votesThis is available in the February 2024 release. It was a NERS development.

Fix citations reverting to older editions when added from the 'Rialto search scope' in Leganto
The current problem occurs when we use the Rialto search scope in Leganto to find a new edition of a book, and we already hold previous edition(s) of the same title. When we add the title to the reading list, it associates to the ISBN of previous editions and the citation reverts to an older held version. This is the opposite of what we want it to do, we want it to be used to highlight where a new edition is available so we can begin a purchase of this new content - which would be in ProQuest's interests too!

Header
In a course reading list within Leganto, it should be possible to 1) make the header persistent or 2) always hide once you start scrolling. In 3 different browsers - Chrome, Edge, and FireFox - when we scroll, the header sometimes shrinks and stays that way (which is good) and other times, it pops back up. This is a UI issue and should be an easy fix and/or configuration, but it is rather annoying for users when the header keeps minimizing and then un-minimizing, over and over again.
15 votesResolved in the new UI. The header is now persistent and doesn't change sizes or disappear.

Reset X when searching for items in list should reset results to all citations
When using "Search for item in this Reading List", if a term returns a subset of citations, clearing the search term using the X ("Reset") icon in the search box does not return the user to the full list. It only clears the term out of the search box, leaving the limited results. The user has no intuitive path back to the full list, so they often click the back button at the top of the window and exit the list entirely.
Conversely, if the search term returns no results, clicking the X icon does return the user to the…

Enable possibility to create deep-links /search-box for Leganto
We would like to be able to create a link to predefined searches for courses in Leganto. For example a link that gives you all of the courses from Spring 2022 that covers economy.
Leganto should support something like this:
https://[BASEURL]/leganto/rl/search/find/lists?academicDep=ALL&courseCode=&courseName=&courseStatus=ALL&description=economy&direction=asc,asc&instructors=&listName=&publicationStatus=PUBLISHED&sortOrder=code,rlnamesort&term=SPRING&year=2022Leganto use this functionality internally and you could create a response that provides a JSON-response.
It should be added an url-syntax that instead of the JSON converts this to be presented as a regular search-result within Leganto.
This is an example of a JSON-URL
https://[BASEURL]/leganto/rl/search/find/lists?academicDep=ALL&courseCode=&courseName=&courseStatus=ALL&description=%C3%B8konomi&direction=asc,asc&instructors=&listName=&publicationStatus=PUBLISHED&sortOrder=code,rlnamesort&term=SPRING&year=2022The functionality should support the same parameters/fields as in the…
