Display tags and student notes in same screen as item availability when viewing full citation details
If you navigate to a reading list citation via Alma using ‘View in Leganto’, this opens the citation in the full screen, and you cannot see tags or notes unless you click ‘Item Actions’. If you open the citation by clicking ‘full details’ when scrolling through Leganto in list view, the same is true that you need to click ‘Item Actions’ to see this information, but the citation does not open in full screen and the list view is still present on the left with some tagging/context visible, which mitigates it somewhat but is still not great.
I would love it if when we open a citation via Alma (and preferably when we click ‘full details’ in Leganto too), we are able to see the tags and notes at the top of the citation at all times, along with the item data, whichever tab we are in – similar to what a student sees when they view a full citation. Ideally this information would also be directly clickable and editable without needing a separate ‘Actions’ tab.
Ex Libris have explained that currently, information cannot be displayed along the top of a citation and also editable by default. My suggestion is therefore to either:
• Pin the Item Actions along the side of the screen, so they stay visible whichever other tab you are in
or
• Allow the configurable option to display the Item Actions in the same tab as Links and Availability, ideally in a ‘split-screen’ layout
There is currently a lot of empty space in the new UI, especially when clicking to view a citation via Alma (the full screen is not used and there is plenty of room to the side of the information that is displayed), and it would be far more efficient for us to see all relevant information and take any required action from the same view, than to click around.
Editing to add: I would also like to see the student numbers (participants) displayed when clicking through to a citation from Alma. There is no 'course info' button at the top of Leganto to click from the full screen citation view, just a link that takes you back to the main list which means you lose the citation you were working on.

This is available as a configurable option within the Library View as of the November 2024 release
