Create multiple word tags in My Collection
Currently, tags created by users in My Collection cannot include spaces. We would like users to be able to create tags containing more than one word, e.g. "dissertation reading".

Return people to page once logged in
We have an open search page for Leganto and make our lists open as well. Because of this people will often find lists in different ways i.e. not just following the link from the VLE.
If you find a list that is open and then log in, or if you are on the open search page and log in, you are always taken to the "My lists" screen.
I propose that when you log in you are returned to the page you started on i.e. if you are on a list page and log in you are returned to the…

Make permalinks more available
At the moment if a member of staff, or a student, wishes to get a permalink to list they need to be logged in. I propose that permalinks are made accessible from the "three dot" menu even when people are not logged in. This will make finding lists and sharing information about them much easier.

Public notes to have text formatting.
It would be helpful to be able to do some basic formatting of Public Notes text. Such as being able to bold or colour fonts and change font size. This would improve the user experience as students would be able to more easily pick out Public Notes text in reading lists and academics could customise the appearance of the notes text they write.

Ability to add a paragraph or line breaks in Welcome to Leganto message labels
We have a requirement for our interfaces to be bilingual, especially the initial welcome message for a service.
In Leganto we have the ability to add text for a second language into the initial English Welcome message which is good, but we are not able to add a break between English and the second language.
I hope this is easy to do! Thank you.

Ability to maintain our own subject lists
The current subject categories are unusable, for example there are 3 categories for Horticulture, plant breeding and plant propagation but nothing for Business or IT. You have a category for Heraldry, which isn't that common but nothing for physiotherapy or midwifery. As for Seals is that to do with heraldry or the animals?
We have had to turn them all off as a result. Can we have a function to maintain our own subject lists with the ability to add our own entries?173 votesAvailable in April 2019

Leganto Viewer
Uploaded documents in Leganto can only be downloaded and cannot be viewed online. Students often consult Leganto from different devices. We think it would be agreat feature if ExLibris could implement the option to view files directly via a 'Leganto/(Alma)' viewer?
And in addition it would be great if it is possible to make notes within a document in Leganto (within the body text of a file) (cf. Mendeley)? (Via the viewer?)20 votesAvailable in March release

Add an instructor role in Alma for additional roles in LTI launch request
Ex Libris completed an enhancement to add an instructor role to an Alma user via LTI. This is great but we need this for instructional staff who support teaching staff, but have canvas system level permissions rather than individual course permissions.
There are additional roles in Canvas (and perhaps other CMS systems) that should add an instructor role in Alma, as well:
| Canvas Role | LTI String | Desired Alma Role
| Teacher | Instructor | Instructor
| TA | urn:lti:role:ims/lis/TeachingAssistant | Instructor
| Designer | Content Developer | Instructor
| Account Admin | urn:lti:instrole:ims/lis/Administrator | InstructorWe would…

Allow uploaded files to be deleted in Leganto
It's not possible for lecturers to delete files from citations once they have been uploaded - they must ask library staff to do this in Alma. Can it be made possible for files to be uploaded in Leganto?

Update the citation field labels when resource types other than Book or Journals are selected
Currently when a user selects citation types for video or audio etc, the field labels are not updated to match accordingly.
Mapping of fields such as that used in reference managers like Endnote would help for better display to students, and help instructors to enter appropriate metadata. eg. For a video in the more details section the labels mention pages. "Total pages" could be relabelled as "Running Time".

Task list - broken links alert should link to the Citations list not the Reading Lists area
Broken links alerts are most likely to be checked by a central team in the first instance.
Current workflow is unnecessarily long to identify and fix citations with newly broken links:
Reading List Task list
Select citations with broken links.
Choose a list to Work on
Filter list by Broken Links alert
Once the citation link has been resolved, they need to return to the Task List to identify the next list with a broken linkPreferred workflow:
Reading List Task list
Select citations with broken links.
This should take you to the Citations List (not the Reading Lists area)…18 votesDeveloped as part of the Leganto January release

Duplicating lists - navigate automatically to new list
When a user duplicates a list we would expect Leganto to navigate automatically to the newly created (duplicated) list rather than the original list.
This has caused confusion for some users, who do not realise that they need to navigate to 'My Lists' in order to find their duplicated list. This has resulted in lots of duplicate draft lists appearing in our system which are not required.

Allow Cite It to work on a PDF open in browser
Cite It cannot be used to import details for an online PDF which is open in your browser window. Such items must be added manually in Leganto.
In Chrome, nothing happens when you click the bookmarklet from an open PDF. In Firefox, the CIte It popup window appears but is not populated with any citation details.
A Salesforce case about this was previously escalated to Ex Libris Product Management, but they have advised that it should be pursued as an enhancement request.

Auto Save tags when entering
When adding tags you have to select the tag then click the Save button. If you hit Enter it adds the next tag in the list! Most users will hit enter thinking this will Save the tag. I'd like to eliminate the extra click on the Save button and have tags auto save.

publish needs to be become more visible and a dual process of 'send to library' and 'publish'
Not only does the publishing button need to be made more visible. But needs to act as a dual process of 'send to library' so librarians get contacted when changes are made but also publishes the reading list. Or 'send to library' needs to be made mandatory again when tags are changed (i.e. from core to supplementary) as this will change how many copies the library may need to purchase.

Add the citation ID to the citation display in Alma
You can currently search for citations in Alma by ID, but this number does not display on either the 'Edit Citations' (search) or Edit Reading List Citation screens. It is therefore impossible to know the citation ID number unless you obtain it via an Analytics report or by copying it from the end of the citation URL in Leganto. By having the citation ID immediately available in Alma we could greatly improve cross working between Leganto and Alma.
This idea has also been raised as an Alma NERS request (5709).

Limit the approvals request list
It would greatly improve workflow to allow the staff processing the Approvals Request List to be able to limit the items in the list by the year, semester and request type (e.g. to weed out Patron Request types). This would let staff show just the items they are interested in, and eliminate all the noise of the old approvals.
Attached is an example of how we would like the Status filter to appear on the Approval Requests List.
3 votesWith the July 2023 release the approval task list can be filtered by status, course association and creation date range.

Avoid 'Multiple Resources Located' on resource locate for related records
If we have both print and ebook versions of a title then there will be two separate bibliographic records, both of which should have the alternate format ISBN added to the 020 $$z field (so that a relationship is formed).
Because both records have the same ISBN, the citation will display as 'Multiple Resources Located' if added via Cite It. This requires a member of library staff to manually intervene and select one of the records to Resource Locate. This is an unnecessary additional step, as availability for both related records should be shown in Leganto anyway.
Could Resource Locate…

Additional citation type for Clinical Guidelines
Could this be added as a new citation type option? It would be useful for academic staff in health-related disciplines who utilise guidelines published by organisations such as NICE (https://www.nice.org.uk/).
