  1. Deactivate filters in “lists” area and filters related to citations inside the lists

We would like to have the possibility to deactivate filters in “lists” area and filters related to citations inside the lists.
Some of these types of filters are not relevant for us.

    For Examples:

    CITATION FILTERS:
    - DUE DATE: no due date in our workflows. Once published, lists and citations have to be always available to our patrons.
    - STATUS: citation status are related to the activities carry out by librarians, instructors don’t need to see them
    LIST FILTERS:
    - COURSE STATUS: the distinction between active and inactive course is not relevant for us
    - LIST TYPE: we automatically create…

  4. New general setting for enabling/disabling multiple lists per course

There's a general Leganto setting for multicourse_lists "Whether to enable multiple courses for reading lists: enabled, disabled."

We would like to add the converse option: enable/disable multi-list courses. By disabling multi-lists per course, only one list could be made for each course via the Leganto interface.

The reason we would like this is to allow instructors to create new lists via Leganto (rather than only by LTI) but not allow them to associate multiple lists per course as this has a negative impact on the embedded LTI view and the way that courses/lists display in the Primo VE full record…

  5. Quick exit from Add items menu

In the classic UI, side-window for adding items is separate to the reading list screen. Side menu can be open and operational simultaneously as the list. It allows users to drag and drop different citations, test links and availability and etc., as they create and work on the reading lists.

In the new UI, the side-window overlays the main reading list screen and reading list becomes not clickable/editable, unless the side-window for adding items is closed.
We would like to suggest adding a feature to quickly exit out of the side pop-up menu by clicking on the left-hand side of…

  6. Allow Leganto to display different general messages by processing or academic department

It would be very useful to have custom message display for a specific department (shows on reading list that owned by department) for example, announcement by department.

  7. Tasks widget in Alma for Reading lists total tally

Tasks widget in Alma for Reading lists total tally
In other areas the total for a category e.g. Order lines the total in the blue header is a tally of the items listed below e.g for Orders = Package + Renew + Claim.
However for Reading list figure does not tally with the entries below it which is confusing.
(In fact the entries add up to more than the total.)
This is because the Category ‘Unassigned’ actually is the total of 2 entries listed further down ‘Unassigned – processing’ and ‘Unassigned Complete’ and so these are not included in tally.…

  8. Public annotations toggle - change default to 'off'

When allowcitationpublic_annotation = true the toggle 'Public Annotations on/off' is displayed (good).
Unfortunately it's also set to 'on' by default which makes plublic annotations by students possible without the list creator intending this (not good).

Features like this should be opt-in, not activated by default.
We are asking for the default setting to be changed to 'off'.

  9. Include more information in the course tab on the user profile in Alma

At the moment the course tab on the user profile only contains columns for Course code and Section. There is no option to add more information about the user course enrollment.

It would be usefull to have access to more informations about the course enrollement in the user tab: Course name, term, year etc.

  10. Availability of “Request digitization”: Take item policies and existence of a digitization department into account

In the Leganto UI, the option “request digitization” is sometimes displayed although digitization is actually not possible. There are two different cases:

    1. he item belongs to a library without digitization department.
If an item belongs to a library without digitization department, the option “request digitization” is still available in the associated citation in Leganto. If an instructor tries to send a digitization request for such an item, an error message is displayed.

    2. The item has an item policy that does not allow digitization.
If an item associated with a citation in Leganto has a “no copy” item policy, the option…

  11. Automatic alphabetical sorting within each section

Several instructors at one of our institutions mentioned that they wished reading lists looked a bit more like bibliographies.

We are aware that changing the sorting is available in the list or section menu, but for instructors who are reluctant to use Leganto, this is already a step too much.

We would like a parameter that would, when turned on on institution level, automatically sort the citations by authors within a section.

  12. Bulk job options to remove expired Alma user accounts from courses/reading lists

We'd like to remove expired Alma accounts from being course instructor/list owner. I picture these as parameters in the Reading List Bulk Update and Course Bulk Update jobs.

This is similar to an existing idea (https://ideas.exlibrisgroup.com/forums/395697-leganto/suggestions/46475206-improve-handling-of-expired-user-accounts-for-cour) but that one is specifically about flagging expired accounts during rollover, and we do not roll over courses and lists at Surrey.

  13. The ability to suppress the Leganto - Import list functionality.

    Dear colleagues
University of New South Wales Library is requesting the ability to suppress the ability for an instructor to select the Create list > Import list option in both the classic and new UI environments at certain times of the year.

UNSW has found that our instructors after using the Import functionality are reporting issues with citation linking. Requiring Library staff to assist by rolling over lists to provide a working link resolving these issues/frustrations.

We note that other libraries have also discussed this functionality in the community communications. So, we encourage you to consider and support this option.

  14. Multi Course Export

Leganto currently allows instructors the ability to export a single class list to Excel. We’re asking for an expansion of that ability to allow librarians and/or faculty to export lists from a set of multiple classes at once.

    Use Cases:
Program Review, this would allow program chairs or deans to review materials in use across their student’s course of study. This would let them analyze their data to identify materials for update and understand when citations overlap to provide a top down view of their program.

Instructor review, this would allow instructors to easily review the citations used in their…

  15. Leganto questions when someone edits a citation from a book to a book chapter

We use Leganto questions to ask instructors whether a book chapter should be digitized or not. This works fine when they add a book chapter (manually or via search/Cite it!). However, in many cases, they can only find the whole book via search, and then they edit it and change the material type to book chapter. In these cases, the Leganto questions are not triggered.
We would like Leganto questions to also be triggered whenever someone changes a citation into a book chapter.

  16. Improve instructor question handling when personal copy option is selected

We'd like to be able to use the instructor question feature to ask information from faculty if we do not currently have the item in our repository. We've noticed, though, that if the instructor checks the option to provide the library a personal copy, that they would still get the question displayed. Ideally, we'd be able to show a question if both A) we didn't own the item and B) the instructor was not going to provide us a copy.

We could see this potentially being handled through an additional / tweaked value in "Availability" as done through Configuration >…

  17. Quick Analytics for Instructors

ls there any way that the course start date field in the quick view analytics (clicking the bar chart logo from the reading list itself) can be changed. It currently shows them usage since the list began, but there is no way for them to see usage in the past academic year only. they need something quick. Something they can share with students... "look there are 50 of you on this course and only 12 of you have looked at this article for today's lesson!"?

    Thanks!

  18. Recommended lists

in the old interface, in the list search, there are recommended lists. I think it would be interesting if this feature were also available in the new interface.
In addition, I think it would be interesting for librarians to be able to select reading lists and recommend them to students.

  19. Ability to customize which fields display to the public in Leganto forms

We would like to be able to customize which fields display to the public in the various forms in Leganto (similar to the configuration options for the various request forms in the GetIt Configuration in Alma for Primo).

For example, we do not require instructors to indicate start and end dates when configuring lists or submitting digitization and/or copyright clearance requests, so it would be ideal if we could hide those fields from instructors so they don't input anything (and also ensure that the system leaves those fields blank rather than automatically inputting a value).

  20. Last Leganto activity date on the user profile

That the user profile contains a last leganto activity date along side the last patron activity date. It is not given that users of leganto use the library in a way that would generate a patron activity.
With leganto the user profile has become important to elements not necessarily connected to library activities but the overall student activities. And especially in purging of users it is important to be able to see if leganto activity is present.
