It would be helpful if Leganto preserved basic formatting when pasting text from Word, Google Docs, or other documents into section descriptions and notes.
Currently, pasted text loses its paragraph breaks, bullet lists, and formatting, even when using regular paste (Ctrl+V). Although the editor supports basic formatting such as bold, italics, and links, these need to be reapplied manually, and line breaks must be reinserted.
This makes it time-consuming to migrate existing course materials into Leganto, particularly when instructors want to include learning outcomes, lab preparation instructions, reflection questions, or other structured information alongside readings.

Allow institutions to configure the order of list creation options on the LMS quick start screen
(NOTE: This idea is piggybacking off of LENH-I-6142, an enhancement request submitted by Kingston University in London, which did not receive enough votes in Round 1 to be sent to Ex Libris).
When the AI syllabus assistant is enabled for instructors, this option appears as the first (and largest) tile on the quick start screen. Uploading Word documents for Social Annotation
We would like to be able to upload Word documents in addition to PDFs for use in the Social Annotation feature as PDFs pose difficulty for accessibility work.

Student view – make the collapsed sections view more attractive
We set longer lists to open with sections collapsed and would not want to change this. However in the new UI this "sections collapsed" opening screen is overly clean and not very attractive. We would like something which entices students to want to delve further. In the old UI there were thumbnails for each section based on the book covers of the first few citations on the list. The new UI would benefit from something more visual: perhaps a thumbnail or icon for each section.

Option to indent citations e.g. for alternative editions/citations
Currently instructors are able to indent section headings. It would be really useful if they could also indent a particular citation within the sections. This would be particularly useful when there are two editions of a book, as it would make it clearer visually that the two citations are linked. We often list 2 editions of a book because we are unable to buy sufficient copies or there is not much difference between editions. Student view – make additional action icons available for items, e.g. quick cite
Currently the share icon is the only 'action' that is visible in the list alongside the citation. Other actions can only be accessed via the citation menu.
This is inconsistent with the UI in Primo where students can access several actions using icons which appear alongside the item. We believe that the user experience of both systems would be improved by greater consistency in how this functionality is accessed by exposing more of the actions in the citation menu as icons in Leganto.

Add an Unselect all citation button to the Leganto userface
An Unselect All citations button is needed. There are currently 2 ways to unselect citations which you have edited:
- Use the 'Select all' checkbox, which then changes to 'Deselect all'.
- Close the actions bar using the X, which also clears the selection.
If you have moved one or more citations up or down the list, it is very easy to forget to unselect a citation, before starting to select another citation to move it. Librarians' filter for 'null' tags on Alma and Leganto
A lot of the libraries here use the library-internal tags to set stages in the life-cycle of citations on a reading list. However, it is not possible currently to filter - either on Alma or Leganto - to citations with no tags. It would be great if it were possible for Librarians to filter for items with no tags on Alma and Leganto, which would therefore probably need some library intervention of some sort.

Improve privacy of cookies
The Leganto teacher/student-facing interface currently uses OneTrust to request both Performance Cookies(1) and Targeting Cookies(2). Cookies default to 'on' unless the user clicks six different links / tabs / toggles / buttons to change this.
Please remove all the Targeting Cookie functionality. Your advertising partners should not have access to our students' use of reading lists in order to learn about their interests and advertise to them. This is unacceptable.
Please set Performance Cookies to default to 'off'. (I know OneTrust can do this because this is how cookies behave on the ProQuest Support site.)

Request accessible file - ability to restrict to user group or campus
We would like to use the Request accessible file feature made available in the April 2026 release but we need to be able to restrict the feature to show to only certain users. We are a multi-campus institution with campuses in other countries subject to different legislation and permissible formats that can be provided. We would ideally like to be able to restrict the feature so it is visible to only certain user groups, but visibility by campus would also work if user groups isn't possible.

Add Citation links, PDF download, notes, tags when embedding individual citations in Canvas
When embedding a specific citation within the LMS (Canvas), and we use either a Bibliograhic Style or the Exlibris "Expanded Reading List Style", there should be an ability to display more information about the citation including: Links to the resource, View PDF, Notes (with note type), Tags, so it matches the look & feel when navigating through citations in the Reading List.
This way they don't need to exit the LMS (Canvas) by clicking on "View Item" just to access the links and additional information about the citation.

Link from course info to reading lists
Today for the two thousandth time(*) I've searched in Alma for a course and absent-mindedly clicked the course code link in order to get to the reading lists, then had to go back and get to them via the ... menu instead.
Reading lists have a "Courses" tab - can the course information page please have a "Reading lists" tab? Or even just a link from the sidebar to the "Course's Reading List " page.

New task lists for accessible file requests
The current Reading Lists Task Lists in Alma are limited to reading lists that are unassigned and in various stages of preparation/processing/completion.
To improve the library workflow, it would be helpful to have new task lists for Leganto files where instructors have requested accessible files.
We recommend 3 separate sets: Accessibility Request -- Received, Accessibility Request -- In Progress, and Accessibility Request -- Completed (or whichever language will provide the most consistency with the tasks that already exist). This way libraries can keep track of materials at every stage of remediation.

Allow libraries to modify the More Options feature of the instructor view
The ability for instructors to request an accessible file added in April 2026 was a welcome addition to the Leganto; however, its placement within the "More options" menu isn't obvious.
We recommend moving this option outside of the menu, or allowing libraries to change the layout on their own, so that instructors don't need to select "More options" before seeing the "Request accessible file" feature.
The ability to see this option below the citation, without an extra click, will draw more attention and make it more likely that instructors will request the accessible formats that they are required by law…

Request for Improvement in APA 7 Reference Export: Option to Exclude URLs
When using the APA 7 reference export function, the system includes source links (URLs) by default. We suggest adding a configuration option that allows users to exclude these links and export only the text of the bibliographic reference.
This functionality would significantly optimize the bibliographic management that instructors perform when recording references directly in their syllabi. Currently, due to institutional regulations requiring that references not include links, instructors must manually remove URLs one by one, creating an unnecessary workload.

Allow individual course rollover within Alma
At the moment there are two methods for course rollover:
Bulk course rollover via the integration profile and FTP
Instructor rollover within LegantoWe have not enabled instructor rollover, as we only want library staff to perform rollover tasks. As a result, we rely solely on the bulk rollover method, which becomes laborious when we only need to process individual courses. Being able to rollover individual courses within Alma would offer the option of only allowing Library staff to rollover individual courses.

Make it possible for students to view archived lists in leganto.
A course may have ended but students often need to refer to old lists and the literature shared in the coming semesters.
That means that students often accumulate a lot of lists during the years enrolled, making the lists-list long in leganto – and us having a lot of active lists for ended courses in Alma.
It would be great if students could access archived lists from somewhere in their list tab in leganto. If archived lists weren’t just available for instructors then we could use the archive function to keep a better focus for both instructors and students in…

Add Category Pop-Up when exporting from NDE to Leganto
When an item is added to Leganto directly from the Export menu in NDE, the pop up menu to enforce a category tag is not supported - allowing items to be added to Leganto untagged. Enforcing this pop up would save the academic having to go into Leganto to update the citation, or have a load of citations coming through for processing without a tag.

Leganto “Remove from my list” should not unenroll students from the Alma course (add hide only / disable options)
Don’t unenroll students when they click “Remove from my list” on course‑assigned lists
In Leganto, “Remove from my list” on a course‑assigned list published to “Course Students” unenrolls the student from the Alma course (by design; not configurable).
After that, students no longer see the list; the only way back is to access Leganto via the LMS LTI object, which re‑enrolls them.
This behavior is counter‑intuitive (looks like “hide” but performs enrollment changes) and creates access gaps and support overhead.
Current workaround is just renaming the label, which doesn’t fix the risk.

Ability to edit/streamline clipboard Leganto Task List
The current Leganto Task List includes items that are not tasks - they are completed. We'd like to be able to config/edit this display so that only actual tasks ie. 'processing' and 'ready for processing' are displayed.
