  1. Digitization request form in Leganto: add configuration options

    As of now, the digitization request form used in the Leganto UI cannot be configured. We think that it would be a useful enhancement if libraries were able to enable and disable fields as well as define the number of note fields and page range fields such as it is the case for the digitization request form in Primo VE.

  2. Digitisation Approved Alert for Instructors

    Feedback from Instructors has been that they would like an alert when a digitisation has been approved/goes live on the list (in our case, from a sync with the DCS). This would both enable instructors to know when the digitisation has gone live, and also enable them to query with the library when they have not received an alert (i.e. that the digitisation hasn't been made, or has been rejected). Alerts would ideally appear as one of the alert option dropdowns in the Leganto interface.

  3. Search or facet for citation library-only notes

    There's the possibility to add a library note to citations in Alma, which is not visible in Leganto. Currently this field can be searched only in Analytics (Leganto Citation Library Notes, Leganto Citation Library Notes Last Update). It includes the text of all notes of type Library, and the person who added the note. We would like to use this for internal notes of the acquisitions' team, but the fact that it's hidden in Alma hinders its usability.

  4. Allow "Watch" icon to be Hidden

    Please allow the "Watch" icon to be hidden at the citation level to avoid confusion for users when embedded playback is not possible. This would help maintain a smoother user experience in such cases.

    We encountered an issue in Leganto involving a YouTube video used as a citation in one of the sections.
    The video displays the following message when accessed from the section view:
    "Video unavailable. Playback on other websites has been disabled by the video owner. Watch on YouTube."

    Clicking the "Watch" icon in the Full Details view correctly opens the video in a new window and plays…

  5. New analytics criteria: count of number of sections

    Currently analytics provides information about the order of sections in a Leganto list, but we just want a simple count of how many sections there are in each list

  6. Process and enrich citations job - additional field required

    We have run the Process and Enrich citations job very occasionally to pick up URLs which may have changed but the resulting file always needs a huge amount of work because it includes loads of historical data. It would be much more useful if it included the field "Publication list visibility", so that we could filter to discover just those citations which are currently visible to our students.

    We would like to run this job on a regular basis in order to proactively fix issues, even before students or instructors spot them. We think that instructors will be more likely…

  8. New UI: Restore ability to search ALL archived lists for library staff

    Leganto, using the old UI, allows library staff to locate archived lists when searching by the course ID, this allows library staff to quickly assist faculty & staff in rolling over/copying their courses. In the NUI, users are only able to locate archived lists for which they are the owner. To be perfectly frank, the library postponed going live with the NUI this summer due to this lacking feature. Finding out this is expected behavior led to the creation of this idea exchange, as we are very concerned about losing access to the feature.

  9. Colour-coded Student/Library/Instructor tags

    Suggestion from our recent Leganto implementation survey:
    There are icons to show the difference between student/library/instructor tags at the point they are added; it would be useful to library staff & Instructors to be able to see at a glance e.g. by colour-coding which tags are which after adding. (In a similar way that library staff can currently see some system-generated tags as a different colour from the user-added ones).

  10. Link to citations from 'all titles' search display

    When doing a titles search on Alma, there's no way to immediately tell if a record appears on a Leganto list. Could there be a title information option called 'Citations' with a number that links to a citations search for that MMS ID? Similar to how 'Orders' appears.

  11. Instructors can also see their courses in ALMA User Management

    They can view the courses assigned to them in Leganto in the Course tab of their user profile when they are in the Instructor category.

  12. Link to course

    When attempting to link a reading list to a course in Leganto, the dropdown menu does not display the instructor names - only Instructor's Alma ID numbers. This creates a challenge, especially for courses with multiple instructors, as it's difficult to identify the correct course without visible names.

    As a result, we often need to switch back to Alma to look up the instructor’s ID number in order to select the appropriate course. This adds unnecessary steps and reduces efficiency.

  13. "Demand in other lists" should be visible in Leganto

    "Demand in other lists" is a useful tool for librarians in Alma.
    Some librarians work a lot in Leganto. It would make sense that users with librarian roles can see directly in Leganto which books are demanded in other lists, and which ones.

  14. Option to run Process and Enrich Citations job in draft mode

    Would be useful to have the option to run the Process and Enrich Citations job in draft mode. This would enable to us to see what citation to record matches were going to be made in advance, and edit the job if it looked like there were going to be errors in the matching / citations we didn't want included.
    This would be similar to the draft mode options when running the 'Rollover Ledgers' and 'Rollover PO Lines' jobs.

  15. “Select all citations” on list level, and not having to first select one citation for the toolbar to appear and then select all

    The Select all item option should be placed right next to the search button (as indicated in the picture), and preferably not hidden under an action menu.

    Already you can select all citations in sections in the Section menu, so it would only make sense to be able to do the same thing on a list level, for instance when you want to tag all citations in the list in one operation.

    The preferred workflow would be one click to select all citations, and then having the toolbar appear, the same way it does when you select one citation.

  16. Leganto Refresh This Page

    The ‘Refresh this page’ function in the old Leganto interface allowed you to refresh a long list with collapsed sections and would return the list with the sections still collapsed and only the section you were working on open.

    This option has gone from the NUI. If you use the browser refresh, the list reopens without the sections collapsed. This is extremely disruptive to the workflow of staff and leads to time wasted and confusion in finding the part of the list that was being worked on.

    Please can the 'Refresh this page' function be restored?

  17. Ask the library for a digital copy form

    Currently it's configured that or the field "Chapters" or the field "Pages from - Pages to" is mandatory.
    We would like to have the fields "Pages from - Pages to" to be mandatory even if the field "Chapters" is filled in by the user.

  18. Introduce a specific message for lists that have not yet been published and for which the library review has been completed

    In the following scenario, a specific message for the instructors is missing in the Leganto user interface:
    An instructor sends a list to the library for review without publishing it to the students. The message “The library is reviewing your list. Your list is not yet visible to students. To publish or send additional changes, click on "My list is ready" to notify the library.” is displayed in the banner on top of the list. The library completes the review and sets the list to “complete” status. In the UI the same message is still displayed.

  19. Add RefWorks as an export option to the favourites area

    Currently there is no option to export items from favourites directly to RefWorks like you can from other citations. Our users would find this useful as we subscribe to RefWorks.

  20. Clear indication for print or electronic resources from other institutions

    Since the June 2024 release it is indicated in the Leganto UI if another institution in a multi-campus environment has physical or electronic holdings. Unfortunately, Leganto users can only see in Primo whether it is a print or an electronic resource. In the Leganto UI, the same icon and the same labeling are used for both. As our users usually have no access to electronic resources from other institutions, it would be an important improvement for them to become able to clearly recognize them immediately in Leganto and not only after many clicks in Primo.
