How can we improve campusM?

    Planned for Q1 2021. Due to potential security concerns this will be focus on Google Analytics and not Tags Manager.

  2. Support Universal Links

    I'd really like to use bi-directional codes (QR or NaviLens https://www.navilens.com/en/) around campus to jump people to the relevant feature in UCL Go. I think it could be a gamechanger for campusM in terms of connecting the physical with the digital realms and making it the ultimate experience app for students, staff, visiting researchers and members of the public alike.

  4. Randomise banner images

    We'd like to have a bank of banner images. We would like the system to be able to randomise the order so that students see a wider selection of adverts.
    We should also be able to pin an advert to that an important message is always shown.

  5. Folders for Tiles

    Briefly: Please add a "Folder" tile type that can group tiles together. Clicking on the Folder would show the contents of the folder, similar to the home screen.

    Background: We have a large number of Tiles. There are several Product Integrations, a couple RSS, several AEKs and lots of Static Content. And we've only scratched the surface of what our individual department does. To expand to the entire university, we're going to need some way to group these together at least one step below the Home page.   6. Allow custom font app-wide

    Currently we cannot make the app on-brand as we've been told that it is not possible to add custom fonts. Can this be added please?

  7. Ability to Print a page

    Need the ability for users to print a page from within an app with only the contents. Use case#1: student views his/her class schedule (time table) that lists out all the classes, meeting days, location, etc.
    Case#2: we display unofficial transcript and user needs a hardcopy to provide to their employer or other 3rd party for verification that they are actively taking classes or successfully completed a course.

    Currently if you print out a page, everything that is shown on the screen prints, including header/footer, tiles, and other html elements.

  8. Ability to change the look and feel of Home page

    Isn't it a nice idea to allow students to change the look and feel (skins) of the Home page.

    This idea came out of the difficulty to find a consensus among students (opting for more colourful look) and marketing (pleading for a plain university-branded design).

  9. Enhanced Search facility

    As an app user, I would like be able to search across a specific set of content and see more details in the results, so that I am presented with more meaningful results

    1) New custom URL scheme that will allow you to launch an enhanced search screen from anywhere (menu options, AEK pages etc.)

    2) In the enhanced search, the results need to be styled and provide more details (i.e. result cards)

    The enhanced search could be an alternative to the existing main search that covers all the content in the app (locations, pocket guides, alerts etc.) but we originally thought…

  10. Overhaul Insight Analytics

    I would like to see a complete overhaul of Insight.

    It is becoming increasingly difficult to develop business cases for justifying work within CampusM without the statistical evidence to show usage, especially for AEK development.

  12. 'Pop-up' notifications when a user selects a tile

    It would be great if we could utilise 'pop up' notifications when a user selects a specified module/tile. These messages could appear and act as a prompt for users. They can act as a prompt, and advertising tool, or even just a temporary messaging service. Please see the screen recording of a different app that utilises it and how well it can work.     Currently users on both the ios and android native app has the ability to "view intro to app" but we would like this functionality to be extended to those that use desktop computer (ie: access campusm thru web browser)

  14. Notifications icon (counter) on start screen: hide when zero

    See screenshtos:

    The coloured dot for notifications should be hidden for all tiles with zero notifications.

    The dot is for attracting the users' attention – the way it is at the moment is bad UX.

  15. Ability to create a Video widget(s) on home screen.

    User is able to set URL for a video in widget configuration (Admin) . Widget loads on home screen (as live tile) and Video is “autoplay” on the live tile –“when in tile is in focus” (without requiring to go into AEK) …very similar what Facebook videos do on home page!

  16. Open links in external browser (Safari, Chrome etc)

    Ability to open links in an external browser on iOS and Android. Just ran a student feedback session and this was a strong theme. I see that a similar idea [ https://ideas.exlibrisgroup.com/forums/308182-campusm/suggestions/10304313-ability-to-break-out-of-webkit-browser ] was closed in Dec 2021, but no note explaining why.   17. Profile Group

    Please add a way to bypass the profile group selection:
    When switching a profile from the settings, a new step has been recently added to select the Profile Group of the institution. Only then users can choose the library profile from a list.

    There is no point to select a group when all the profiles are under the same group.

  18. Allow unvalidated students a second chance to check-in

    If a student does an attendance check-in but it is marked as unvalidated then allow them a second chance to check-in.

    This would allow students who have accidentally attempted to check-in whilst still walking to the class room another opportunity to have a valid check-in as well as possibly overcoming local issues with a room which might prevent a successful check-in

  19. In lecturer check-in, if you select a reason why the student isn't in the session it says 'Lecturer Logged Abscence' not what was selected

    In lecturer check-in, when the lecturer selects a reason why the student isn't in the session it says 'Lecturer Logged Absence' and doesn't show the actual reason (student ill etc), which means lecturers are unsure they chose the right one and double check.

  20. extend the length of time that a notification can be viewed more than 90 days.

    We have state requirements for some notifications to be listed for longer than 90 days. Some are for the whole year. Currently we would have to do a notification multiple times a year to be compliant. If there was a way to have the notification not expire or be able to see past notification past 90 days.
