Primo VE: Re-instate the A-Z browse function for DATABASES
Re-instate an A-Z browse option for Primo VE Database Search, like the one available for Primo Classic.
Thank you for this idea. We are currently examining it also as part of the NERS voting (7820).

Workaround by Bill Constantine via the Primo mailing list:
"add the first letter to the metadata for the categories/subcategories.
For example, AccessEngineering has this in the bib record 690 $$a A-Z $$bA. The other categories are in 690s as well."Result:

We are using the same method, but had this already in the data before we migrated to Alma, to distinguish between open access ("freier Zugang") and licenced ("via VPN") databases:

This is the major reason for librarians not adopting Database Search over Springshare as A-Z is a useful way for users to find databases. Auto-complete cannot list databases in the same way.

We are interested in an A-Z database search. The A-Z journal search is too overwhelming.

This is a request for a database A-Z list. https://ideas.exlibrisgroup.com/forums/308176-primo/suggestions/36909595-a-z-option-in-primo-ve-journal-search is for a journals A-Z list. Our users expect the former, but not the latter.

I believe this is the same as https://ideas.exlibrisgroup.com/forums/308176-primo/suggestions/36909595-a-z-option-in-primo-ve-journal-search - could we please combine?
