  2. Pipe setting improvement: allow to exclude specific OAI sets from a pipe

We would like to have the possibility to exclude one or more specific sets when we harvest the data with OAI-PMH protocol in Primo.
This option would have 2 results:
    - to reduce the number of imported records
    - we wouldn't have to set specific normalization rules in order to exclude the records we don't want to show in Primo

  3. Discovery Import Profile - Scheduled [Reload and Delete]

Not all external repositories have deleted records in their metadata, and the only way for us to remove deleted records from Primo would be to manually run the 'Reload and Delete' process on the Import Profile.

An option to have this scheduled would be helpful

  4. Newspapers search API

For libraries who use the Primo APIs (https://developers.exlibrisgroup.com/primo/apis/) for their bento box discovery service, it is not possible to extract results from a Newspaper search using the Primo Rest API when the Newspaper search is enabled. Libraries can only extract Newspaper articles through the API using the resource type “Newspaper articles” without the Newspapers search enabled, which means far less content, and far less relevant content. However, by enabling the Newspapers search, libraries can expose significantly more news-oriented results from the many newspapers search only sources that libraries have access to that will increase relevance. However, if a…

  5. no javascript required for Embedding a Primo Search box

separate the search filters such as "any, contains," from the actual query terms so, javascript is not required for creating embedded search boxes

many places do no allow any javascript from endusers on their CMS

  6. Enable Silent Login For Azure IDP

Currently Azure IDP is not supported for Silent Login. We use the Azure service and would find it beneficial to have it enabled. Currently the extra step of having students login, even if it is SSO, adds another barrier and another step for our beginning users.

  8. Include item copy id in OpenURL

We use OpenURL to pass request information from Primo VE to Aeon. Currently OpenURL cannot include item copy id (see case 06436874).

Item copy id is "used to identify individual copies of the same title when multiple copies exist at the same location".

This is important for our special collections libraries, because they often have multiple unique copies. For example, copy 2 may have annotations by the author and thus have specific importance to researchers, compared with copy 1 which is not annotated.

  9. Allow hosted Back Office sites to use their own XSL transformation routines in data sources

Primo documentation describes using XSL transformation routines to apply changes to records ingested to Primo from external sources (https://knowledge.exlibrisgroup.com/Primo/Product_Documentation/Primo/Back_Office_Guide/050Pipe_Configuration_Wizard/040Configuring_Data_Sources) but hosted sites are not able to see details of existing routine files or add their own.

We would like to be able to add our own transformation file to handle a specific issue with harvested OAI metadata. Please make this possible or at least document the existing transformation routines so that we can see what they do.

  10. Support Indexing of Collection Type(Alma-D)

When adding an Alma digital titles, all Alma digital titles are indexed, so it takes a total of three days to be published.
It takes three days to update the primo collection lobby.

Please consider that only certain collection types or some collections can be indexed to reduce publishing time.

  11. Integrate Retraction Watch data into CDI article records

We would like to see metadata on retracted articles incorporated to CDI/Primo from the Retraction Watch database (https://retractionwatch.com). While some CDI records indicate in titles that the articles have been retracted, not all do -- this appears to be provider-dependent. Adding a metadata element to indicate retracted status would make it possible to flag retracted articles visibly and consistently, and to create a facet/filter for retracted articles.

  13. Make Primo content discoverable via Microsoft Bing search engine

With an increasing emphasis on measuring and maximising the impact of research outputs, an incentive for researchers depositing content in an institutional repository is that this can boost readership, citation counts and potential impact of the research - but this is dependent on the discoverability of this content.
Studies have shown that an increasing proportion of academic search and discovery activity occurs outside the discovery services provided by the library, with researchers using discipline-specific indexes such as Scopus, academic search engines such as Google Scholar and Microsoft Academic, and general web search engines like Google and Bing.
    It is therefore…

  14. Display Peer Reviewed and Open Access icons when coming to Primo via OpenURL

Our clients can benefit from having the Peer Reviewed and Open Access icons display in Primo when clicking through from a Database or Google Scholar. We would like to meet our clients where they are searching for articles and these two indications are important to them.

Example title: Biological invasions, ecological resilience and adaptive governance

There are Peer reviewed or Open access indications when linking back from Google Scholar: https://sun.primo.exlibrisgroup.com/discovery/openurl?institution=27US_INST&vid=27US_INST:27US_V1&volume=183&date=2016&aulast=Chaffin&issn=0301-4797&spage=399&id=doi:10.1016%2Fj.jenvman.2016.04.040&auinit=BC&title=Journal%20of%20environmental%20management&atitle=Biological%20invasions,%20ecological%20resilience%20and%20adaptive%20governance&sid=google

but we do see these indications when searching the title directly in Primo VE

  15. Allow API retrieval of a user's saved searches

We would like the ability to retrieve a user's saved searches via API, in order to allow for the user's searches to be displayed with other user information (e.g., in a library website user account).

There is an existing API, in the DevTools' Network tab as
/primo_library/libweb/webservices/rest/v1/savedSearches?vid=..., which requires a Guest or User JWT.

However, this API has not been added to the API Gateway for public use. We would like for this to be added to the API Gateway.

  16. Implement Just in Time (JIT) SAML provisioning for Primo Classic

JIT SAML provisioning is supported for Alma and Primo VE, but currently not for Primo Classic. IWe would like to see this functinality implemented for Primo Classic as well.

  17. Collecting records directly for Primo to feed an union catalog

Our library we are going to participate in a union catalog project. The company in charge of making the catalog has asked us to provide with access to the records of our library data sources (ILS, repositories, other databases, etc.) in order to collect (through OAI / PMH or any other method) and incorporate them into the new union catalog.

We think that, since some libraries have only Primo installed, For this project, a other similar projects, it would be more efficient that the records can be collected directly from Primo and not from the other systems. Thus, it would…

  18. Allow key-based SFTP for pipes

When configuring pipes in Primo it is possible to use SFTP as the harvesting method, but there is no option to use keys for authentication, only to specify a password.

This is in contrast to when setting up integration profiles in Alma, where key based authentication is possible.
Please incorporate a system similar to that used in Alma into the SFTP configuration for pipes in Primo.

  19. Options for applying Primo Dedup process selectively

We want options that can prevent two Alma BIBs from being merged by Primo Dedup Process.
It could be an option per pipe or local record, or any better method. (Related SF Case# 00872193, etc.)

    e.g.)
    * Alma-P : Dedup OFF
    * Alma-E : Dedup ON
    * CDI : Dedup ON
    .
    .
    .

Currently Primo runs dedup process for all records. (Please correct me if I am wrong.)
It is a necessary and useful function for electronic resources - especially for articles- but sometimes not for local print materials.

Catalogers decide whether to maintain separate BIBs or to merge…

  20. Find alternate ISBNs in the available record to force an available syndetic cover image.

I've learned that the book cover images from Syndetics in Primo comes from the first Addata: ISBN PNX field which comes from the first subfield a in the MARC 020 field.

Often, we have the electronic version of a book that uses a different ISBN in the first MARC 020 |a

Small presses/publishers may have only sent Syndetics a print ISBN image and that image is available from Syndetics. Since often the print ISBN is in the MARC 020 field already - but not necessarily in subfield a or in the first position - it means that the default book…
