Removing the "accepted" status so that institution can continue voting as agreed with the PWG.

Thank you for your suggestion. We are considering allowing batch update of file display titles through CSV update.

Update: This functionality still does not exist. In theory, expanding the capacity of the existing CSV bulk update process (which was implemented after I submitted this idea) to encompass file-level metadata should suffice.

This Idea is very broad, and since it was opened new functionality has been added, in particular the Update by CSV. CSV update covers all metadata fields in the Asset but does not include Authors, either creators or contributors, or Files.
It would be helpful to get an updated list of priorities.

Update: I have had the opportunity to test out the CSV bulk import of asset metadata and the subsequent job to bring in the files. The process does work well enough, although the files have to be staged somewhere that can be accessed via URL without requiring any security measures for access. I'd recommend permitting files to also be uploaded straight from one's hard drive or cloud drive.
I've also tested bulk editing via the same CSV upload process, and this works well enough, though just for asset-level metadata (aside from the authors, which as Tami noted is complex). The ability to bulk edit asset author (creator or contributor) metadata, file-level metadata, and the files themselves is still lacking.

Tami -- When I posted this idea in Feb 2021, the ability to batch import metadata didn't exist. The ability to batch load and edit asset records via CSV was implemented in the meantime. I've not yet had time to test batch loading the asset files (i.e., the content, like a PDF), however. Thanks -- David

Hi,
I am reviewing Ideas Exchange and have some questions about this idea
This would be an export of the org structure only? Is this in reference to analytics?
What purpose would this report serve?
Thanks
Tami

Definitely seconding this idea. To Tami, it would be good to be able to export a full org structure, including units that do not currently have assets. This could be done in Analytics or Esploro itself. Aside from its being generally useful for reference purposes, one advantage of this is to discover changes to the units or structure made by staff who may not communicate these changes to other staff.

Dear Colleagues,
We are looking into this issue, we might have a way to flag the publications better for Primo VE to dedup.
We will let you know of updates.

I strongly support this idea. If Primo VE is to serve as a single search interface for all of an institution's resources, including research assets, it has to be able to deduplicate records for the same resource from Esploro, Alma, and the CDI.

To elaborate on this request, here's a more detailed description written by Amir Shamsolnizam based on an Ex Libris support case we at Drexel filed:
Enable automatic notification letters for ETD authors in mediated deposit workflows
Description:
As a library administrator managing an institutional repository, we want to automatically notify ETD authors when their dissertations/theses are approved and published in Esploro, so that students are informed about their work's availability and can access their assigned DOI for future reference.
At Drexel, ETDs are deposited in Esploro either via SWORD integration upon delivery in ETD Admin or directly via manual deposit on behalf of the student-authors.
Currently, Esploro supports notification letters for self-deposited research assets, but institutions using mediated deposit workflows have no mechanism to automatically notify the student authors when their work is approved and made available in the repository.
This creates a communication gap where students remain unaware that:
1. Their ETD has been approved and published
2. A DOI has been registered for their work
3. Their research is now discoverable in the institutional repository
Libraries using mediated deposit workflows need the ability to send professional notification letters to ETD authors that include:
• Confirmation that their work has been approved for publication
• The assigned DOI for future citations
• Direct link to access their published work
• Contact information for repository support
• Dynamic email subject lines that incorporate metadata variables (e.g., asset title, author name, degree type)
• Access to comprehensive metadata fields in letter templates, including ETD-specific information such as degree program, project type, subtitle, and other descriptive elements currently unavailable in the letter data structure
This enhancement would improve the student experience and ensure ETD authors receive timely, professional communication about their published research, regardless of the deposit method used by the institution.
