Giving some Ahead of Print citations in Summon a status of Citation Online
To date there is no way to give "Ahead of Print" citations in Summon a status of Citation Online for institutions that do not subscribe to the journal via the publisher's website. For instance, the following citation is listed in Summon:
Sizing Up Skaters: An Interrogation of Body Discourses in Elite Women’s Flat Track Roller Derby
by Draft, Amanda
Women in Sport and Physical Activity Journal, 02/2017

From Duke University, this links to a "Your initial search query did not yield any results" message in EBSCOhost. This occurs because this article is Ahead of Print content on the publisher's (Human Kinetics) site at http://journals.humankinetics.com/doi/abs/10.1123/wspaj.2015-0031 . So the publisher has not yet published it in an issue. Aggregator databases do not post articles on their sites until the publisher adds the content to a volume and issue number. Therefore, this article is not yet included in EBSCOhost (SPORTDiscus with Full Text (dbid: DXH) in this case).
Can Ex Libris develop an enhancement that gives Ahead of Print citations in Summon a status of Citation Online for institutions that do not subscribe to the journal via the publisher's website?
We've committed to do the analysis in 2024 for this feature.

This has been a issue with us too, although our case is with our subscribed Taylor and Francis journals. They have a lot of "digitally published, ahead of print" articles, which have to go through 15 mo. embargo. We do subscribe to these journals, but since these "digitally published, ahead of print" look like they are published already on ExLibris side, they mistakenly "get out of" embargo, 15 mo. after "ahead-of-print published" and make available in Summon.

Seconded. This issue occurs frequently for us with journals published by Sage, especially those with subscription access only through an aggregator.

Aggregators, such as EBSCOhost, post articles on their websites only after the publisher adds the content in a journal issue. However, they do not take this information into account when providing their coverage dates.
Because of this issue, citations in Summon for such "online-first" articles (such as the ones at https://www.tandfonline.com/action/showAxaArticles?journalCode=tsri20) may link to an error message if the institution subscribes to the journal via an aggregator and not the publisher.
Since "online-first" records have a publication (SSID) and a publication date, if you subscribe to the journal and the article publication date falls within your dates of coverage, Summon will surface the record. There is not currently a way to "turn off" single "online-first" articles without also turning off or adjusting your holdings for the whole publication.
It may be a long shot, but I'm wondering if an Ex Libris development team may be able to fix this problem in Summon.

I recently found that the citation at http://tinyurl.com/ybjtwbz5 has the same problem.
