Hi all,
This is to update that we plan to develop this option in the future. It is not in the current roadmap for this year, and we will update as soon as we have more details about the development planning.
Best regards,
Yael.

An error occurred while saving the comment Curran Riley commentedThe University of Wisconsin system agrees with this idea. We use APIs to load and sometimes alter patron data. One example is replacing legal names with preferred names (Alma does not yet have fields dedicated to preferred names).
When we replace a legal name with a preferred name, we'd like to add a note specific to this scenario that indicates a name has been changed and includes the legal name. The legal name will then still be in the Alma patron record and can be used for verification, the collection of fines and fees, etc.
We'd like to have a note type that is reserved for this purpose, and that means we want to create our own note types to avoid collisions with other library staff use. We have asked for different barcode types in the past, and had them added, and this seems like it could be solved in a similar manner.
FYI, As the person who posted this, https://ideas.exlibrisgroup.com/forums/308173-alma/suggestions/18679072-allow-same-url-functions-rules-possible-for-dynami may be the better idea to vote for.
Ex Libris has pointed out that we have control over these templates. We feel we can't omit items to shorten it, but having conditional logic as mentioned in the other idea would allow us to keep what we need while removing empty/blank values
