Select All Representations in Digital Resource Editor
Add a master checkbox to select all representations for a title within the Digital Resources Editor. This would really help with deleting representations when they need to be replaced or purged entirely.

Alma Digital - Collection, Access rights and Representations
Hello,
There are a few features that are missing from Alma Digital that we would be happy if they were added:
1.
Add the ability to search in the "Title list" of a Digital Collection according to MMS ID, Representation ID and author.
2.
Add the ability to make some of the fields "Required". For example, we would like the "Access Rights" to be a required field.
3.
Add the ability to move a file from one representation to another (just as you can change the holdings of an item).
As of today, it is possible to move to another…10 votes -
The ability to add a public note at Collection level as we can for Electronic Collections
Currently, the only type of public note we can add in Alma Digital is at the item or representation level, and that is specifically for copyright information. We would like to suggest that you make it possible to add a public note at the collection & sub-collection level. This field should be multi-purpose and not limited to copyright information.
This is possible with Electronic Collections, and it should be possible with Digital Collections as well.
Thank you for your consideration.

Create new workflows to allow POLs to handle digital-only resources/purchases
As we continue to find new ways to leverage Alma Digital, we are now using it to host our purchased streaming films (i.e. upload the digital streaming video file to be viewed in the Alma Viewer). Part of our process is attaching a POL to the corresponding record in Alma. However, there doesn't seem to be a straightforward way to associate a POL with a bib record that only contains digital content.
It would be great if an Alma workflow could be created to allow POLs to be attached to Digital resources the same way that they can be attached…

Analytics: Add the country to subject Area digital usage details
The country of download and the organization are key information about the digital usage details as they add value and context to the statistics. This information is very important to our institution. Would it be possible to add the country, country code and organization to the digital usage details the same way as in Esploro subject area Asset usage details

Allow Access Rights Policies and Copyright to be applied to remote digital representations
Checking the "Remote" box when adding a digital representation causes the Access Rights Policy and Copyright fields to disappear, even when we choose to display the digital object in the Alma Viewer.
If the Alma Viewer is selected, we should be able to apply the same Access Rights and Copyright to remote files as we can to files stored in Alma. This is especially important as more CDL functionality is added to Alma.

Display record format in search results and browse pages
We catalogue Alma-D material in both MARC and DC formats.
We would like an easy way to determine which format a record is in when viewing it from either an Alma results page or browsing through a collection. This could be done with the addition of the record format field to the brief record display.

Be able to re-use Access rules
This is specifically for Alma Digital.
Currently, when creating an Access Rights Policy, you have to create the appropriate Access Rule. Often, we are replicating the same Access Rule across multiple policies. These should be able to be re-used instead of having to be re-created over and over again.7 votes -
Allow expiration dates for Alma digital representations
When editing an electronic portfolio, you can set an "available until date" under the general tab. We'd like a similar feature available for Alma Digital representations. That way the representations would automatically become unavailable on a particular date.

API call to download digital files to run corpus analysis or crawl
API call to download digital files to run corpus analysis or crawl
We would like to download the Alma digital files using an API to conduct corpus analysis of our content. At present the available URLs pointing to the PDFs are pointing to the landing pages of the PDFs. It is not possible to extract the PDF from these pages as they load everything with Javascript in a browser.
Furthermore, it is not possible to automate the use of the job available to download digital files to meet our requirements. There is no API available to construct URLs to get…

Add a date measure to Digital Inventory/Usage Analytics
For Digital Inventory/Usage, we can only see total (cumulative) downloads and views. It would be helpful to have a date measure to see usage over time for digital files.

sort representations alma digital
If you attach several digital representations to one bibliographic record in ALMA, and each representation has one file attached, the representations/files are sorted as strings. When managing representations with alphanumeric labels, this can lead to a confusing display order. For example, by default when displaying links to an architectural walking tour, "Stop 2: Rudolph's Master Plan" appears after "Stop 10: Campanile & the Public Square." In the example, you can "trick" Alma into displaying the desired order by adding a blank space before "Stop 2." However, this process is messy and not intuitive. It would be helpful to have the…

Alma Digital Support for an auto-captioning service
Many video streaming services now have an auto-captioning service, .i.e., Youtube, where captions are auto-generated for video content. Since we are legislated to caption our video content, Alma Digital could include this feature and save us months of work.

Support viewing pptx files in Alma viewer
It would be good if it was possible to view pptx files (PowerPoint/slide decks) in Alma viewer.
This could enable better access to teaching and conference resources.

Edit Entity Type
Entity Type is a hard-coded list for objects, and it is not possible to add/configure new Entity Types. But the entity types are constantly evolving and require localization for each institution. The Entity Type Field could be editable, allowing institutions to manage the list accordingly to their needs

Be able to control access rights by user login combined with patron role with a specific scope at library level.
Be able to control access rights by user login combined with patron role with a specific scope at library level.
Example:
Be able to specify a parameter in the access rules that grant access to the representation on Library A if the patron is logged in and his patron role scope = Library A, meaning, only user logged in and belonging to that library are able to access that document.4 votes -
Highlight OCR text within image in Viewer, not just in full text field
Digital representations seen in the Alma-D Viewer, accessed through Primo, are often PDFs with OCRed text. These items have a "Full Text" field with this text displayed with the item's metadata in the side pane, and using a browser's "CTR+F" function will highlight results for a searched word, but this functionality would be helpful if it also extended to highlighting the word in the image as well. In dense newspapers, for example, the user may find the needed word in the block of full text, but he would then need to examine the image carefully to track down the instance…

Access Right based on a user's statistical category
Can we define an "Access Right" based on a user's statistical category. i.e., we have the Student's academic program listed as a statistical category. We want to limit access to certain resources by academic program.

Repository search: fulltext of digital files
We'd like to be able to search the full text of digital files in Alma's repository search. This could be useful in situations where multiple files are attached to a title; searching the full text on the title level in Primo will not guide you to the correct file, but a file-level repo search would.
We see that there is a "fulltext" search index for digital files, but it looks like that index is for the type of full text file (it doesn't search the contents of the full text).4 votes
