sort representations alma digital
If you attach several digital representations to one bibliographic record in ALMA, and each representation has one file attached, the representations/files are sorted as strings. When managing representations with alphanumeric labels, this can lead to a confusing display order. For example, by default when displaying links to an architectural walking tour, "Stop 2: Rudolph's Master Plan" appears after "Stop 10: Campanile & the Public Square." In the example, you can "trick" Alma into displaying the desired order by adding a blank space before "Stop 2." However, this process is messy and not intuitive. It would be helpful to have the option to sort alphanumerically.

It would be extremely valuable to provide the ability to manually reorder digital representations/files, rather than relying solely on alphanumeric or alphabetical sorting.
A useful model would be the functionality available in Esploro, where users can select and move files to define a custom display order. This would give institutions greater flexibility in presenting digital content and allow them to prioritize representations according to local practices and needs.
This enhancement would improve usability, support a wider range of institutional workflows, and better accommodate the diverse needs of libraries.
